Hi all!

I’ve been listening to the album Friend by james k (and the rest of her discography too) a lot lately.

It reminds me so much of Cocteau Twins although the genre is a bit different. This album is, I would say, a mix between electronic, trip-hop, ambient and dream pop with (CT reminiscent) ethereal and dreamy vocals.

While different from anything Cocteau Twins has ever released, this album scratches the same itch for me and I think many people here would enjoy it.

It’s also a really good album to wind down and relax.

I would like to pick this up but before doing that I wanted to check with other fellow fans if it’s worth picking up. I don’t mind that it’s unofficial however many publishers have tried to use Britney to sell subpar books so just wanted to make sure this book is good.

…is that the singles for “I Feel So Free” and “Love Sensation” don’t have their own artworks.

I just find it so lazy to reuse the album cover when there are so many good pictures from this album photoshoot. Also, I hate the inconsistency as “Bring Your Love” and the various remixes have their own cover arts instead…

It’s a minor issue, I know… but it bothers me a bit 😅

I know the skin is way too dark, but I feel like getting the skin tone right is one of the most difficult things.

I love this community! I’d be extremely happy if someone else feels inspired making their own art after seeing this. I really don’t have any skills or prior knowledge but I had so much fun while making it 💖💖💖

I finally got the five year anniversary variant of Sin Miedo which means I have collected all of Kali Uchis’ studio albums. She is one of my absolute favourites.

I have also collected all of her singles released on vinyl (of which there are only three).

I know that there is also the To Feel Alive EP, but that is expensive and I couldn’t order the new variant as I’m not in the US. Maybe one day if there is a widely available repress :)
