Question to those who got a GPU with 16 pin connector
Just a heads up I don't understand all that much of PC hardware and all my life I have been with an AMD. A friend is willing to help me upgrade my PC. He told me that for graphics performance Nvidia is the way and warned me about the 16 pin connector of Hell. Even he doesn't know how to upgrade his own machine so I wanted to ask the community. Why do you buy GPUs with that connector when you consciously know it's a massive issue and a gamble if your GPU will fry or not. Not only are we paying ludicrous price for it but it comes out faulty from the factory. I heard they also removed the ability to monitor the temperature of the hottest spot. It all begins with the more demanding games and I get it. You want to game on 4k, 8k whatever but is the risk worth it? Why should we think of ways to fix something that shouldn't be a problem altogether? Shouldn't we demand for a more reliable GPU that we can use for years (because prices are not getting lower anyway) instead of relying on warranty? Same goes for AMD because their cards also use that same connector.
