Compatibility question: Will this HDMI IC chip work for a PS3 Fat (CECHH)?

Hello everyone,

I recently discovered that the HDMI IC chip on my PS3 Fat (CECHH model) has failed. Fortunately, all the other ports (AV, USB, Ethernet, etc.) are still functioning perfectly.

I am currently looking for a replacement and came across the chip shown in the attached picture. Could anyone confirm if this specific IC chip is compatible with my console's motherboard?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Fan speed jumping to 75% after new HDD and CFW install on a deep-cleaned PS3 Fat.

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a secondhand white PS3 Fat (model CECHH00). To ensure its longevity, the first thing I did after buying the console was to fully disassemble, deep clean, and repaste the APU/RSX.

The Baseline (Old HDD): Initially, when testing with the original HDD (with 4.83 firmware), the thermals looked great. While idling in the XMB for the first 10 minutes, the fan speed hovered around 45–55% to maintain a steady 65°C.

The Issue (New HDD + CFW): The thermal behavior changed drastically after I upgraded the storage and software. I installed a new 1TB HDD, updated to CFW 4.93, and reinstalled multiMAN and WebMAN MOD.

Now, the fan has become significantly louder. The fan speed constantly sits above 60% and occasionally ramps up to 75% just to keep the console at 68°C while idling.

My Questions:

  • Could the new 1TB drive be generating excess heat, or is this likely a WebMAN MOD fan profile configuration issue?
  • Does anyone have suggestions or specific settings I could adjust to safely lower these temperatures and fan speeds?

Thank you in advance for any insights!

Song with the exact same chord progression as "A Different Age" by Current Joys, but at a noticeably faster tempo?

Greeting everyone,
I am trying to identify a specific track and would greatly appreciate your assistance. The song I am recalling shares an identical harmonic structure with A Different Age by Current Joys—specifically, the continuous two-chord oscillation between D major and G major (a standard I-IV progression).
The primary distinguishing factor is the tempo. While A Different Age sits at a rather slow, deliberate pace (approximately 71 BPM), the song I am searching for is significantly faster and more energetic.
Unfortunately, the title and lyrics currently escape me. Does this faster-paced D-G progression ring a bell for anyone?
Thank you in advance for your time and help.
Edit:
I found the song! The song was called “im growing up too fast” by redhead

Persistent Update Error (Status Code 4497-000D-0800-0200-8007-2AF9) when trying Gears of War 2 to login Xbox Live

Hello,
I am currently experiencing issues playing Gears of War 2 online via xbox live on xbox 360. While other titles connect and function without issue, Gears of War 2 consistently triggers a 3MB update notification upon launch.
When attempting to apply this update, the process fails and returns the following error status code: 4497-000D-0800-0200-8007-2AF9.
I have already verified that my setup is configured correctly for other online titles. Has anyone encountered this specific error code with Gears of War 2, or is there a known workaround for bypassing or successfully applying this update through a stealth server?
Any insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
