Everyone’s A Star Glass Cups
I posted on here a bit ago, talking about designing these cups, and they’re finally done! So, for those who were interested, they’re up on my Etsy now. :)
I got this email today after Etsy package crossed customs, but see no charge to my account
Does this mean the customer had to pay the fees? I feel really guilty if so, since I saw no warning about it as I was shipping out the package.
I'm only one financial quarter into openin my shop, and I've made around $500 after expenses. Should I be filing quarterly??
I have no idea if this is a dumb or repetitive question, sorry. I opened my shop in April, and only found out about the quarterly payments for self-employed people today, and I'm freaking out a little bit. Should I be paying estimated taxes for this quarter? I've made around $500 after my shop expenses, and have been planning on using some of my profit in the next few weeks to get some supplies for a new product. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I'm not sure how to feel about my doctor and dentists advice..
Update: The uncertainty was making me anxious last night, so I ended up going out to buy a blood pressure cuff. I took two bp measurements, the first was 118/88 and the second was 126/89. I know this is still elevated, but much better than they were before, which does lead me to believe that my readings yesterday were probably combination of dental anxiety and medication that I took prior to the appointment.
Update 2:
I saw my GP today, and because they were getting the same sort of reading that I was getting at home, she said that it was probably the dentist having bad equipment. Glad nothing‘s wrong, but it definitely scared me.
——————
I went to the dentist earlier today, and they took five quite high blood pressure readings in the span of about half an hour. They were:
213/132
174/116
180/102
199/134
180/126
They then obviously said they couldn't do my planned procedure, and advised that I call my doctor and get their advice. My doctor told me to come in tomorrow for them to check it themselves. I guess what I'm wondering now is, should I be more concerned?? When I search these numbers online, everything says that this is a medical emergency, but I got the readings almost 12 hours ago, feel totally normal, my doctor wasn't all that worried, and did not advise me to seek immediate medical attention.
Also, would it be a good idea to buy a cuff before my appointment tomorrow to see if it's lowered, now that I'm in a less stressful environment?
Making some Jyuugoya Charms
I’m designing some Jyuugoya charms that I’m hoping to turn into keychains, starting with Yuma‘s little character. I’m a new Luné and working on this fanart project definitely makes me wish I had known about them sooner so I could’ve done it when the MV first came out 😅
[Thanks] Very excited to finish out my weekend eating cookies!
I make each item custom per order- If a buyer requests a refund would this be a reasonable response?
Some of this is probably my overthinking/anxiety, but I'll give some context:
I make shirts that involve ordering DTF transfers and blanks per each order, getting them shipped to myself, handmaking them with a small handheld heat press, before shipping them out. That is to say, it's a fairly intensive and sometimes imperfect process. Knowing this, I stated on my listing that the transfers may have imperfections or burn marks on them, but nothing that is vastly different than my listing photos.
So, if a buyer were to notice an imperfection and decide to bring it up and request a refund, would it be reasonable to offer a partial one rather than a full one? The issue is, I price my clothes in a way that over half of the cost goes to the supplies for that individual piece of merchandise, and much of the time I don't actually have that other half of the money available to give back, especially for an item that is still consistent with my listing. The profit I make from a sale is basically just an hourly wage for the time to handmake the item.
I do specify in my seller policy that I don't accept returns.
This issue hasn't actually happened yet, but I'd love to know your thoughts as I'm a chronic overthinker.
Seller still hasn’t shipped my item and the latest estimated delivery date was yesterday.
I’m just wondering if it would be fair to cancel? They did print the shipping label like 10 days ago, but it hasn’t actually been shipped out yet, and I was getting something for a specific event that unless they ship it today probably won’t get to me in time. I tried reaching out to the seller yesterday and they said they were going to “message the shipping carrier right away to ask for an update” which confuse me because as far as I know the USPS link that they attached to my order is the only way I would track my package. I tried in putting the tracking number into some universal tracking sites as well and everywhere says the package wasn’t received.

[Gifted] Music Contest Winner!
After much deliberation, I’ve picked u/Squidable_ as the contest winner! There were so many amazing stories, so I’m definitely going to try and host another contest in the future! Thank you to everyone who entered! I really enjoyed reading through your concert experiences.
Order # 112-7047325-8812251
[Contest] Who loves music?
I've been lurking this subreddit for a while, and now that I've officially joined, I thought I'd start off my time here with something fun!
So, I want you to tell me about your favorite concert experience! Who did you go to see? How old were you? How did you discover the musician? Did you go with anyone else? What role does this artist play in your life? The more details, the better; I'm totally fine with reading a long reply.
I'll go through everyone's responses and pick one winner, who will receive a CD or cassette of their choosing that is under $15 before tax (vinyl is alright as well, but I know it's hard to find one in that price range). Prime shipping is preferred.
To be eligible:
- Have at least one CD/cassette/vinyl under $15 on your linked wishlist
- Be engaged in the subreddit! I'd like to reward people who are active members of the community : )
- US Only
The giveaway will end on Sunday at midnight EST, and I'll pick a winner the subsequent morning (5/18)! Have fun with your responses!
(An additional note: I'd like the value of the winner's item to come to around $15, so if you have, say, two $7 CD's, I would get both of them for you!)
[Intro]
Heya! My name is Olli, and I'm an independent illustrator raised in Minneapolis, MN, and currently residing in Pennsylvania. I'm in my early 20s, and a big goal of mine is to begin doing creative direction for musicians (think merch, stage design, MVs, etc). In the meantime, I design fan-made merch for BTS and 5SOS, as well as work on separate exhibition projects to enter into local contests and find places to display publicly.
Music and art are probably my two largest passions, and have been ever since I was a young kid. I've been playing drums since I was 8 years old, and can also (quite poorly, haha) play some guitar and bass. I was in the choir as an elementary school student, although our song choices might not be what you'd normally think of- lots of Macklemore and Bastille. I spent 4 years playing percussion in my school band/orchestra. As a teen, I was in a lot of art contests and got 6 Scholastic Gold Keys for my paintings/drawings and photography.
I have 3 animal babies: twin orange tabbies (Jasper and Juniper, 3), and a Minipincher/Chihuahua mix (Fletcher, 7).
My favorite musicians right now are (as mentioned previously) 5 Seconds of Summer and BTS, as well as &Team, and Racing Mount Pleasant. Some of my favorite shows right now are Young Royals, 연애 지상주의 구역 (Love for Love's Sake), 이게 맞아?! (Are You Sure), and Outer Banks.
Some of my hobbies include ice skating, creative writing, and language learning (would eventually like to be a polyglot; currently know some Portuguese, ASL, Korean (actively studying), Finnish, and Spanish). I'm a big concert-goer and am very active in my favorite artist's fandom spaces.
I'd love to chat, so feel free to AMA!
Layout ideas for this bedroom?
I will try to attach more photos below of the floor plan, but the main things that we’re trying to fit into this room are some kind of sleeper couch, a queen bed, a comfy chair by the larger window (8’10” wall) and a desk. We will also need to fit in a TV stand and a small dresser. The beige barrier on the left-hand side blocks off a set of stairs, I was just too lazy to model them out. Open to all ideas about how to lay out this room.
Link between hyperphantasia and good JND (Just Noticeable Difference) score?
I have hyperphantasia, and after taking this JND color test today and getting scored between .003 and .001 (at the threshold of not noticeable), I got curious. Since hyperphantasia has so much to do with accurate mental visualization, I could imagine there being a link to highly accurate color recognition as well as being very attuned to one's visual environment. I'd love for anyone who has a little free time to take the test and let me know how you score!
Not trying to sell it here, FYI! I was just wondering if people have seen consistent pricing anywhere for this Mega Rayquaza Pikachu? It’s in perfect condition other than maybe needing a lint roll, and still has the original paper tag with no bend or creases. Looking on eBay I’ve seen a whole range of pricing so I don’t know what’s reasonable to ask for this.
