Changing combination on Vintage Mosler safe
so I've opened up the mechanism on the four number mostler safe I asked about a while back . Here's what it looks like to me. That snap ring is somewhat daunting but I think I'll be able to get it off without messing it up.
I see how the interior ring matches up with the exterior ring . But how do I know what number it's currently pointing to ? I do know the combination but it's not clear to me how I would change this to a different number.
Any thoughts?
Time to re-pot?
I've had this guy for a long time, and he's doing pretty well. That said, I think he might need a trim , and maybe it's time for repotting. Advice on the trim would be great.
Also, how do I get this thing out of this pot? Do I just gently pull it out or turn it over or what? Because the pot narrows at the top I'm worried that it might have troubles coming out. Suggestions are welcome.
Installing a mini split in a middle floor
Hi everyone, I'd like to install a mini split in the middle floor on this townhouse. It's the floor above the main door. I guess I'd have to put it on the flat roof at the top , and run a line on the outside of the house down the side of the peak roof and then maybe down the drain pipe? And then I need to run power up to it. Does this look like a large job? I think I'd probably need a scaffold right?
pull temperature for medium?
Hi all - is there any consensus on the internal temperature for medium during a reverse sear? I have a 3.6lb prime rib "steak" that I'm going to reverse sear on my kamado, then blast with nuclear fire after a short rest.
I'll be running the first stage at about 250f. What's the accepted pull temperatures?
Soft vs hard administrative approach?
Partner is a HS special needs teacher. They often get the runaround from the admin, the board, and the specialists when it comes to getting things done. Meeting items aren't being completed on a timely basis, if ever.
I come from a corporate background, and since forever I've taken minutes, and issued them along with action items, responsibilities, and due dates. This keeps everyone informed as to what's going on. In actuality, it pressures those responsible to get things done.
Partner says this doesn't work in education. It's more of a 'soft' skill, and this type of administration breeds resentment and is counterproductive.
What am I missing?
Looking to get back into the game
Hi all,
35year veteran here . Long-time COBOL CICS DB2 VSAM JCL programmer with excellent communication skills, excellent BA skills, superb at digging through old code and at writing new code.
I've been out of the field for the last 3 years , trying my hand at a different path. I'm getting bored doing what I'm doing, and would like to get back into the contract game.
I'm located in canada, and have applied to a number of LinkedIn posts but haven't even got so much as a response.
Any suggestions on how to proceed?
"Forced" Retirement
Hey all - has anyone noticed a trend where teachers with more seniority are being assigned significantly more complex students (or just several extremely complex/difficult students) than in classes with younger/newer teachers? Perhaps with the aim of making the senior teachers' lives difficult in the hopes of goading them toward an early retirement?
I'm seeing this in my school. Maybe it's just my principal, or maybe it's a bit more nefarious than that - some sort of on the down-low guideline?
