Evy and Rick are officially back on set for The Mummy 4, currently filming in London.
The movie hits theaters October 15, 2027, and picks up directly after The Mummy Returns (2001).
As for what happened to the third film, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008), the creative team has chosen to completely erase it from the continuity.
The directing duo Radio Silence (Scream, Ready or Not) and screenwriter David Coggeshall have explicitly confirmed that the 2008 movie is not part of the new film's canon. The events of that movie simply did not happen in this timeline.
