This song is the very reason why Marvin/Michael Lee Aday (Meat Loaf) will forever be my favorite musical actor of all time

((Note, the actual song starts at 1 Min 30 seconds, theres quite a bit of dialogue which covers some sensitive topics before the song starts so skip to there if your triggered by described acts of violence))

Just listen to this song, some of you may know it from Meat Loaf's Dead Ringer albulm, but some of you may not know that the song was original written for a 1973 musical called "More Than You Deserve" (written by Jim Steinman), where Meat Loaf originated the role of "Rabbit", which was also his primary debut role, and not only that, but this is also where he met Jim Steinman, the very man who wrote a large chunk of Meat Loaf's songs

And some may not know, that Meat Loaf actually started out as an actor, and performed Shakespeare in his local theatres, and even did musicals like Hair.

Why does basically no one stage the original 1971 version of Grease even though it's been reconstructed?

I just find it odd, the original Grease is a really good show, akin to West Side Story, and in my personal opinion, I think it's better than the movie, and the version of the show that came after it got transfered over to New York

I really liked the gritty and real musical about gang violence, class divides, and teenage pregnancy. And how it was more of a ensemble show rather than just having Danny and Sandy take the spotlight, shining more plot threads with Miller (replaced with Kenickie in the movie, although Kenickie was a member of the gang in the original as well), Rizzo, and other characters

It won't let me message because of file attachments that I don't have

How do I fix this?

Musical Hot-takes

I'll start:

I prefer the Rock of Ages movie with Tom Cruise and Diego Boneta to the original Stage Musical with James Carpinello and Constantine Maroulis

WE GOT A MASKLESS MICHAEL IN THE HALLOWEEN SINGLE PLAYER????

THIS IS GONNA BE SICK

For those of you who are upset about: "Ruining The Mystery" (because I know for a fact there will be THOSE people out there), in the first movie directed by John Carpenter, Michael not only got unmasked we see his face CLEARLY, and he's also unmasked in several other films (the second photo being the shot that Michael's face is visible in the first movie, this isn't BTS footage, this was a scene in the movie right before he's shot and falls of the balcony).

Should the classic Elvis musicals get stage adaptations?

I've been watching these old movies, some of them are better than others, but theres been one constant, all the songs are really good (partly due to Elvis being the primary singer, and it they're semi-jukebox musicals with some songs written for the movies, and some Elvis songs), and I think some of them could have a good stage adaptations, if some more songs got added, and there were some minor story/staging changes:

Some of the primary ones:
- Clambake (would require some very specific staging for the boat-racing, possibly similar to the medieval times arena-style staging with a wide open stage with a lot of space for mechanical boat races. Would also require some changes to make the plot a little bit more coherent, and to change some of the awkward jumps. This is also one of the closest movies to a by the books musical, and has some of my favorite songs out of the Elvis movies)
- King Creole
- Jailhouse Rock
- Blue Hawaii
- G.I. Blues

STEAL C.AI THE USERS LIKE HOW THE DEVS TRIED TO STEAL OUR IDS

Lightshade is far superior anyway

u/Raidio2000 — 2 months ago

To the people who enjoy using my C.AI Bots

I'm glad to report that I will be transferring all my bots to Lightshade, due to C.AI asking for a image of my government ID, this does not mean I'll delete my C.AI account, since I know there are people who still like using my bots use the website/app, so I'll keep my account open so people can use the bots, BUT this does mean that any future bots I do make will most likely not be on Character.AI and will primarily on Lightshade, unless specifically requested by fans to have transfered over to character AI

Could some one standing 6'8" potentially play J.D. on stage?

I'm auditioning for Heathers, and I'm in the age and vocal range for J.D. but I'm freakishly tall for my age

I know the tallest actor to (officially) play J.D. was 6'1", but I'm just wondering how tall would be considered too tall

It happens, it's sad and dramatic, but then it's kind of brushed over and even joked about in the next scene, whereas Heather's death had influence over the whole musical, and Kurt & Ram got a full funeral scene, but with J.D. it just happens and then the musical ends

Visually/Appearance wise I think he was a good fit for JD

But I just can't tell whether his performance was a result of poor writing on the writers part, or poor acting on Scully's part
