How it started vs how it's going - 3 years of improvement. Also why beginners shouldn't be asking "what voice type am I?" because you just don't know until you're trained up.

So embarrassing to hear the first clip 😅 I had no idea what I was doing, and hated the sound of my voice, so I tried to lean into the masculinity and hide my timbre with false fold distortion and artificially increased resonance. Silly days.

And yeah yeah I know my voice is deep as hell. Hormone issues, quit hating lol

Has anyone else had tics resurface a little later in life? How did you navigate it?

So my tics were pretty bad about 10 years ago, but since then, I have an entirely new social circle, and my tics had subsided to the point where nobody in my life (including my long-time partner) really knew I had it. I even kinda forgot about it for a while, and tics completely faded into the background noise.

Recently though, they've picked way up, and now I'm in this really awkward position where it looks like I just picked Tourette's out of nowhere. I've always had a fear of people thinking I'm faking it, plus the usual embarrassment of tics, and suddenly having coprolalia again is just crazy.

Has anyone else had an experience like this? How did you navigate it? Am I over-thinking things?

My autistic superpower is not knowing when people are mad/annoyed with me, so I overcorrect and assume that everyone is mad/annoyed with me all the time 😎

I think the softer verses are pretty ok, but I was hoping to get some feedback on the louder parts in the chorus.

What do you all think? Is it at least androgynous? Going loud and still sounding remotely fem is so incredibly difficult 😅 And in usual fashion, I have no idea if it sounds fem, androgynous, or literally just like a man lol

[Language Warning] So June 7th Tourette's awareness day, so I thought I'd cut together a few clips of the stuff I usually edit out 😅 It's not something I've been historically very open about, but representation is important, so here we go

I'll be traveling on the 7th, so I'm posting this a couple days early.

Day-to-day, it's pretty unobtrusive and generally pretty unnoticeable, but music gets me excited, which tends to kick things up into another gear. Combined with being comfy and alone in a sound proof booth, I'm able to freely let tics fly whenever they want, so before and after songs, I'm really in rare form lol

God, this feels like a coming-out video 😅 (Happy Pride Month!!)

I'm not shy, so I'm happy to answer any questions if anyone has them, but otherwise, I just wanted to share <3

Edit: Also I should point out that swearing and middle fingers constitute a vast minority of tics in general. Only a small proportion of people with Tourette’s have the swearing variety - much more common (for me and in general) are tics like eye blinking, humming, certain hand movements, stretching, etc. Most people who know me casually irl don’t actually know I have Tourette’s, because tics can often be suppressed, redirected, or disguised - although that tends to take up a lot of mental energy keeping things all in check.

My Love Mine All Mine - Mitski

Bit of a departure from what I normally do, but this song has been rattling around in my head a lot

Is it still allowed if I had the camera on a tripod?

I mean, it's a photo of me by me, but idk if it goes against the spirit of rule 9

This is a video that was just meant to be sent to a friend, but I thought was a good example because it's exactly how I speak when I have to raise my voice a bit irl, which I think is a lot harder to do well than doing a quiet, curated, heavily controlled clip.

(Just for context, I was just leaving an event I photographed, which did not go well 😂)

So what do you guys think? Pass or no?
