Pregnancy Medicaid in Alabama while already having Marketplace insurance??

Hi everyone,

We currently live in Alabama and have Marketplace health insurance through UnitedHealthcare with subsidy.

If pregnancy is confirmed, we are thinking about applying for Pregnancy Medicaid in Alabama.

My questions are:

  1. Can someone apply for Pregnancy Medicaid while already having Marketplace insurance?
  2. Will Medicaid deny the application because we already have Marketplace coverage/subsidy?
  3. Should we keep the Marketplace insurance active until Medicaid decision comes?

Any experience or advice would really help. Thank you!

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, I do not have funding for this summer, so I am considering other work options. I applied for several on-campus jobs; some were not selected, and a few are still pending.

My EAD was approved last month, but my I-485 has been stuck at NBC for around 7 months.

I just wanted to get some advice based on your experience:

Can I use my EAD for any type of work during the summer? If I use my EAD, could it cause any issues with my I-485 approval?

Any experience or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I am a graduate student (International) at UA, and I currently do not have funding for this summer.

Over the past two months, I have applied for several on-campus positions, including residence hall and library-related jobs that seemed to match my background. Some applications have been rejected, while others are still pending.

This is my first time applying for campus jobs, so I wanted to ask if there is anything I may be missing in the process. For example, do referrals, recommendations, or contacting specific offices/people help when applying for these positions?

I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions.

I’m currently insured with GEICO, but I found a better deal with another insurance company and plan to switch at my renewal date. I’m wondering if I need to officially cancel my GEICO policy, or if simply not paying the renewal bill will automatically stop the policy.

Has anyone dealt with this before? I’d like to avoid any issues or unnecessary charges.

My case was stuck at NBC, while others getting approval. After biometric no update or no api update.

Tried congressmen, but they get a general response from USCIS.

Any suggestion?
