Do your Google wallet learns your routine?

Anyone using Google wallet in OnePlus 15 to pay for public transport?

I had the device for about 2 months and I noticed that it kicked off the Google wallet in the background after I was done with it for public transport.

That means. When going to work and back home, I have to scan into the metro and then scan out upon my destination.

I noticed the phone kicked out the Google pay after the second scan. Which is a good thing for me

Anyone has that too?

Charging indicator light on PX8 S2.

Hi all PX8 S2 users,

Can I check that when the device is off and you plug in to charge, does the green charging light lit up shortly and starts blinking?

Mine doesn't lit up for a while.

I have to switch on and switch off then the light will starts pulsating.

Just got it about a week ago and the battery has a charge in it.

This is the 2nd time I have charged it and the same happened the first time round.

Thank you

Got the PX8 S2, but quite blink

There was a price promotion for B&W this month so I went to demo it and paid USD 650 for it.

It was a quiet evening with a few customers so sat down to demo other brands as well.

Cambridge Audio P100SE = Bass is full but not tight as the PX8 S2. However the pressure point on the top of the head is not welcoming.

Noble Audio Fokus Apollo Pro = Comfortable clamp force and pads. Not very full bass but upper treble seems to be coming out from the top part of my head.

Focal Bathys = very good soundstage for a closed back. But the cups feels very thick and the entire set feels like it is about to fall off my head if I tilt my head down.

PX8 S2 = this model was the last set to demo. The moment I put this on, it feels like in the past I have been sleeping on a couch and now finally slept on my own bed.

The ear pads are wonderful. The headbands contours to the shape of our head, which is not round but slightly oval shape.

Then the music starts.

I fell in love with all my Spotify collection again.

Color choice = I read that the lighter colors of warm stone and pearl blue gets stain easily so I avoided those but they look so beautiful 😍.

I am a "matt" guy for all things gadgets but they don't have the oynx black. I almost decided to walk away and pay more at the other shops for a black model cos I was hoping I can look just a tiny bit like David Beckham. LOL..

But the sales man says he will give me an addition discount, Right Here, Right Now.

I succumb to the temptation.

I am no audiophile and my music choice are EMD, Hip hop and K-pop. So bass is important.

PX8 S2 has them and has control over it.

After payment the guy even encourage me to use them immediately and let me a table and chair to do the unbox therapy.

I am a bit worried about the shiny blink of the metal finishing.

I wore them and on the public transport home, nobody cares. That's a relief.

So for those that are the "matt" guys, please see the physical set before putting in your money.

But on a different perspective, it's not a bad idea to be open to new ideas and changes.

I still love the midnight blue then.

Does a WIFI repeater slow down other clients even if they are not connected?

I have a WIFI 7 router and 1 x node. They are quad band with dedicated wireless backhaul.

Router is in the main living room and the node is in the study room.

I have a small utility room far off at the back of the kitchen and does not offer a line of sight to the router, so the connection is poor.

I intend to install a WIFI 7 repeater to cover that utility room.

My question is, with the addition of the repeater will the entire network be slowed down? I have a teenager room and my study room that needs fast WIFI speed.

Since they are not connected to the repeater but to either the main router or node, are the clients connected to them suffers as a result of the WIFI repeater half-ing the speed?

I have posted this question on other sub before and because I named the brand I suspected the "brand ambassador" came in and advise me the only way is to buy another of their expensive node.

It doesn't make economic sense to spend another USD800 for a node for the occasional usage in that room

Edit: corrected from extender to repeater

Recommended dish for Nan Hwa Chong Fish Head steamboat

I am treating my partner to some steamboat as we are running an errand nearby.

https://nanhwachong.com.sg/

May I ask:

  • What fish meat has the least fishy smell?
  • Any side dishes to go with it? (two pax)
  • Planning to go for Sunday lunch. Do I need to make a reservation?

Are the Melomania P100SE louder compared to XM6 or Momentum 4?

Basically, my phone, OnePlus 15 has an inherent issue of having lower Bluetooth volume.

The disable absolute volume and Spotify volume normalisation has all been tried but to no avail.

I would like to check with users of the P100SE who have also used XM6 or the Momentum 4, are the P100SE volumes louder than them?

My only other option is the PX8 S2 but it's expensive.

I haven't got a chance to demo the P100SE and the shops are always busy and not very nice to demo aimlessly and add more work to the staff.

Thanks

Is using a portable DAC/AMP with a wired headphones still feasible in 2026 given the vast options of Bluetooth headphones?

My question is, is it still feasible in 2026 to use a wired headphone given the conveniences of wireless Bluetooth headphones and the better fidelity some can offer?

I have auditioned the PX8 S2, the Focal Bathys, both which are within my budget. While they are good, I felt that the dynamic and impact of the music wasn't as good as the combo of the Sony MDR-1AM2 and Fiio Q5 which i had 10 years ago.

I was hoping to go back to wired option with a portable DAC/Amp, for my daily commute.

Therefore, is there anyone out there willing to deal with a wire dangling off the shoulder in exchange for the extra oomph in their music?

I am considering the Focal Azurys or Sony MDR-1M, with either the Fiio BTR17 or Hiby W4.

I tried a setting to get Bluetooth to be a tad louder Sennheiser momentum 4

Your mileage may vary.

OnePlus 15:

In Bluetooth setting:

  1. Only enable media audio

  2. Disable Device Volume Sync

In system settings:

  1. sound and vibration/ sound effect setting/ select original

Sennheiser app:

  1. ANC/ transparency off

  2. Enable advance sound quality ( aptx adaptive)

Spotify:

  1. Set lossless

  2. Disable volume normalisation

You need to be connected to do these.

I am not sure if it's a pseudo effect but the sound seems more full and engaging.

80s quieter sound track does not help.

Before this test, I was 70% towards getting the px8 s2 for the loud volume output but after this test, it's 50%

I am still gonna demo the px8 s2 though

Apple music on an Android

I am currently on Spotify family plan and are considering switching to Apple Music as the latter is much cheaper.

I want to ask a few questions:

  1. Does Apple Music in Android allows lossless output? I know Apple likes to cater more for their own ecosystem.

  2. Is Apple Music sound quality better than Spotify when both are using lossless output?

  3. I have a lot of "Like" music tracks on my Spotify. Is there remotely any way to export them to Apple Music?

My main concern before making the jump are if I am restricted to any features when using a Apple Music on an Android and if there will be an improvement in sound quality?

Mostly using Bluetooth headphones on aptx adaptive.

Thanks

Apps notification does not appear

Other than whatsapp and missed call that shows notification with a new message/call, some of the other apps like Outlook, Teams, Gmail did not show any notification at all.

I checked app management and for those affected apps, "Allow notification" was granted.

What else did I missed?

Can't find my screenshot anywhere

As per titled.

I googled for an answer and look at the following:

  1. Open photo app, it didn't appear in any album, category or collection.

  2. Went to setting, app management and clear the cache

  3. Went to my file app, saw the screenshot folder but nothing is inside.

  4. Permission to access photo and video given to photo app

I didn't use Google photo for back up.

Are self serviced coin laundry hygienic?

I have a thick queen size mattress protector that my 8kg washer can't do the job.

I dropped by a coin washer near my place today to find out about the price but was put off by the stench similar to a public bathroom that hasn't been cleaned for a long time.

I opened up a rubber flap supposed to be where the detergent goes in and it looks slimy and smelly.

Folks who have used one before, are they hygienic enough that you don't feel itchy wearing the clothes after it?

It's $5 for 11kg but maybe I will settle for laundry service instead.

Will a repeater slow down the Orbi 970 mesh network?

I had a common toilet in the kitchen area that is not at line of sight to the 970 main router.

And it will be too expensive to add another 970 node in the kitchen area.

If I add a Wifi 7 repeater very near to that toilet area, will it slow down the entire network?

The repeater I am looking at is the TP Link RE235BE BE3600.

Orbi 970 3D printer top fan mount

Hi all,

Did anyone have the 3D printed top mount for a fan done?

As you can see in the pictures, it doesn't cover the vent hole.

I am not sure how well it suck the hot air?

I downloaded the file from Printables.com

 https://www.printables.com/model/943569-orbi-970-series-router-top-fan-mod-mount

There are 3 different versions of the download but they are all the same design for a 80mm fan.

Does anyone have experience with it?

Thanks

Using the Air Link to get aptX HD/Adaptive

Hi all,

I am using a Samsung A56 that does not have QUALCOMM SOC.

Pairing it with a Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphone, I do not have the option of aptX HD or aptX Adaptive. I am limited to aptX only.

I am considering getting the Fiio Air Link to act as the Bluetooth transmitter instead of the phone to get aptx HD/Adaptive.

Will this work?

The reason I wanted aptx HD was that I have a Sony WH-1000XM6 running on LDAC and the sound was more refined in the upper mid than the Momentum 4 on just aptX.

I imagine the Air Link would help with higher bitrate contributing to better sound quality.

I am on Spotify btw.

Thank you
