The detailing is astounding on this, world class collar design and a color combination that does not look bad when actually holding it, I imagine it’ll look even better on the players. Much better than last seasons kit, which I sorely regret buying. Everyone to their own taste, but to me this is the best kit released since 23/24’s masterpiece.
I mean, I see it’s a well made album with some EXCELLENT parts like the light my fire solo and other great tracks like Twentieth century fox and whiskey bar. But there is such a large portion of the album that feels so, so safe and basic. I mean the instrumentals are painfully similar and monotonous and the music seems even directionless at times. Soul kitchen and the last 2 tracks before the end are just honestly lame, good singer but even the lyrics are meh and the songs just straight up mesh together. Solid 7.5, enough to get me to listen to other albums in their discography, but seems overrated in the modern age.
Going Shopping would be in B tier somewhere for me.
Honestly this is incredibly difficult because their instrumental melodies are one of the strongest parts of the strokes as a band, but what are your favorites across their discography?
