Medical Question

Hello! I’ve had a concealed carry permit for about 3 months now in Warren County. I have been having trouble sleeping at night and my doctor mentioned an antidepressant called Trazodone that some people use to help with sleeping difficulties. If I start this medication, would I become ineligible for having a permit, or is this something that I would need to report?

In my past I have a history of being treated for anxiety but the judge cleared me after explaining my situation to him.

New York- Took a pottery class but never got our work.

Hello! I’m in upstate New York. Back in November, I took a pottery class with my Mom, girlfriend, and both my siblings. It was really fun. He taught us how to make several things- an ashtray, two cups, and a little bong- and said he’d be taking them to his kiln to dry and we would get them in about two months. We paid in advance and afterwards my Mom left a fairly good tip. Good enough that he tried to give it back but she insisted.

We didn’t hear from him until my Mom reached out in March looking to get the pottery. My sister was in town for the weekend and wanted her cups. She messaged him on a Thursday and he didn’t reply until Tuesday of the following week. He said there was family in town and he wasn’t on his work phone. Understandable!

From there, we’ve kept trying to pick up our materials, and there’s always some family emergency he has going on, or he’s taking a friend to the airport, or he’s sick and not at the studio today. I’ve made appointments to stop by the studio at three different times and stopped by without notice a few other times. The studio is always closed. I always knock on the door to no answer. Lights are on inside maybe half the time.

My mom was at the building today. It’s like a big building with a bunch of independent businesses. She asked the shop owner next door about the guy and he laughed and said “Let me guess, he owes you something?”

Apparently this guy had a deal with that shop that he’d make candle jars if they made candles and they’d split the profits. The shop owner ordered $300 of wax to make the candles. Then the pottery guy completely ghosted him. This was three years ago.

We just want our pottery. The candle shop owner suggested calling the police but I feel like that seems a little too harsh. What should we do?

LOVED the books but having trouble getting into the show

I’m not a huge reader but part of my new year’s resolution this year was to read more. I picked up the first Magicians book in April and finished the trilogy by late May. I tried giving the show a watch but it’s SO different that I’ve been having trouble getting into it. But I see people posting here about how much they love the show. I need (mostly spoiler free) encouragement to keep watching the show. I’ve made it through the first 8 episodes and I’m not quite obsessed with it yet. I want that to change!

So far I love Elliot. I couldn’t see the Elliot and Quentin shipping in the books but I definitely see them as a thing in the show.

What caused the Aviation Mall fire alarm?

Was just seeing Supergirl and the fire alarm in regal went off. Does anyone know what caused it?

We decided to leave. I asked one of the attendants what the protocol was. We were allowed to wait for an undetermined amount of time until it’s cleared where they will just unpause the movies or come back another time and they’ll honor the tickets. No refunds.

What is your hot take about The Office?

What controversial opinions do you have about the office?

For me, I don’t think the Asian Jim jokes are funny anymore. I think they’re just so overplayed. Every time that actor is in anything there are Jim Halpert jokes about it. I see it so much. It was funny when it was first in the show but is so overdone now

Post-Vasectomy Pain

Hello! I got a vasectomy about a month and a half ago. I went under anesthesia and had a relatively painless recovery process. I was sexually active after a week with no pain with ejaculation. I stayed in the jockstrap and iced often for two weeks and as needed since then. I’ve been sexually active 1-3x per week since then with no problem. Until today. I was sexually active earlier today and just before ejaculation felt a sharp pain in my left testicle. It felt like it receded up into my body. I paused being sexually active. It went back down to its normal resting place in 2-3 minutes and had a dull/achey feeling for another 5-8 minutes. I threw the jockstrap back on and went about my day. I tried again a couple hours later and had the same results. Currently lying down in the jock. With it being memorial day weekend the earliest I could even call my urologist is Tuesday and who knows how soon I can get in for a visit.

Does anyone have advice on how to manage this? Anyone have a similar experience?

AFTG Crash Course

My fiancé is majorly hyper fixating on this series at the moment. She tends to do this 2-3 times per year. I need a crash course so I can understand her rambles without jumping into the whole series. Anyone got me covered?

Hello! Bit of a weird situation. I applied for CCW in January. April 6th I received a letter saying that I had passed my criminal and mental health background checks and had an appointment with the judge that following Friday. On Thursday afternoon, I received a call from the pistol permit office telling me not to come on Friday, and that they would be mailing me more information.

I received a letter the following week stating they were aware of previous mental health treatment and needed documentation from my doctor (medical records and a letter stating my current status. I just had an appointment with my PCP who said they are unwilling to do that.

I have previously been treated for anxiety. Nothing crazy. I’m not medicated. It’s not like I have schizophrenia.

I don’t know what to do now. I’m about $500 down from the class, background check/finger printing, etc and feeling stuck. I can’t provide the judge with what they asked for. My PCP said I could find someone who would be willing to provide that but was unable to refer me out.

Has anyone been here and been able to still get a permit?

It used to just screw in but now it wont get tight enough to stand upright. Aside from the fact that I like having a coat rack, this was my grandma’s so I hope to keep it instead of replacing. Thanks!
