Weird thumb Wednesday

I already peeled a big flake off before I thought the degenerates at /popping might want to see what peeling the epithelium off my exposed nailbed is like. You can see where the first big flake is missing and pinker epithelium is exposed

I lost this thumbnail over 40 years ago and have had this keratinized epithelium ever since. A layer of dry horny skin forms and the bigger pieces flake off pretty cleanly. Edges and parts that aren't as thick yet need a little assistance to peel off

The bottom right corner grows a tiny tiny sliver of thumbnail which you can read more about in one of my previous wacky Wednesday posts

Last photo is a few days later and the nailbed is much less pink and more keratinized

No more aspect ratio crimes

Will do until I can get a bigger screen (that can actually go 4:3) or even some real CRTs

Pandora box DX virtual pin

The pinball games are few and far between on this system, just a couple 80s/90s 2d games with few play fields each.

Sonic spinball too but the button layout is whack 😆 I'll fix that sometime soon

That new game feeling

Picked up a Pandora Box DX at a yard sale

Hardware is decent enough for a hands-on arcade feel, and there's a whole bunch of retro beat em ups I have never played, including this old gem, Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon

My goal now will be to find & finish all the best em ups stashed among the 3000+ games on this console .. and maybe find a nice CRT...

Does anyone know WHICH Pandora console this could be? Or which retailer uses this box?

From a FB listing for an estate sale. Hopefully I can just go pick it up on the weekend but I'm dying to figure out what kind of board and sticks could be in here

[homemade] grilled King Boletes

Foraged cleaned and grilled by yours truly 😁 hike to table

These wild porcini, aka king bolete, penny buns, boletus edilus were brushed with neutral oil and spices and salt and grilled. They turned a surprising golden orange colour and developed a nice crispy skin

Served with chilli & lime grilled pork

Jawbone fragment part 2

No dentist this time, I got this piece out for free!

Much smaller than the previous bit, size comparison in the final pic

Jawbone flake, I have all my wisdom teeth and never had any dental surgery

Long thumbnail sliver

Lost 95% of my thumbnail 40 years ago due to an infection as a child. Old news.

Was picking the nailbed scar, it always had a single needle thin nail remnant that grew and needed trimming. I've picked small bits of nail material from here for forever

There was a small feeling of release at the top but the majority of the nail strip came out with no resistance. Has a little wispy strip too.

Jawbone fragment removed

Weeks of dental pain and a sharp edge protruding 1cm below my gumline. Finally got to the dentist today and he was able to remove this very sharp piece of jawbone.

The dentist gave it a wiggle and asked if it hurt(nope) but took several tries to get a good grip. Nothing but pure relief when it came out!

The dentist was very confused until I explained this isnt the first time this happened, but this fragment is significantly larger than the last one and thicc. Enjoy! (Canadian dime for scale)

ps; I haven't had any dental work or extractions and have all my wisdom teeth. this is from TMJD and bruxism and crunching the fuck out of hard candy
