CA Jul 2026—WA feb 2027?

Hey everyone!

I presented the CA Bar this summer and I want to keep my brain warm and sit for WA in february. I’m moving to WA so the license, tough not mandatory at my job, would open more doors.

The thing is that because WA is nextgen already I’m scared that the current bar prep programs are not really familiarized with this new style.

Does the GOAT have a good bar prep for next gen? Any advice ?

Just took the California Bar; how should I prepare for Washington’s NextGen exam in February?

Just sat for the California bar and I’m moving to Washington for personal reasons. My plan is to take Washington in February if I pass CA; if not, I’ll retake California.

I don’t want to jump straight back into full bar prep, but I’d like to stay warm and start getting familiar with NextGen. Has anyone looked into the new prep courses yet? Do they actually seem adapted to NextGen, or is it mostly traditional bar prep repackaged?

Any advice on how to approach the next few months would be appreciated!

Moving from LA to Eastern Washington in my 2025 Mach-E Premium. Any tips?

Hey everyone!

In a couple of weeks I’ll be driving my 2025 Mustang Mach-E Premium from Los Angeles to eastern Washington for a new job, and I wanted to see if anyone has recommendations before I hit the road (I just got this baby a couple months ago)

So far I’ve got:

ABRP for route planning.
The Ford/NACS adapter so I can use Tesla Superchargers.
A portable/mobile EV charging cable.

I’m thinking about buying:

A spare tire kit (I know the Mach-E doesn’t be come with one).

The proper jack, lug wrench, and tool kit.

A portable 12V jump starter for the accessory battery.

Is there anything else you would absolutely recommend bringing for a trip like this? Any “I wish I’d had this” items? And if so, any good online dealer/in souther california area?

On a separate note, I’ll only be moving about a studio apartment’s worth of furniture. I originally considered renting a small trailer, but from what I’ve read, the Mach-E isn’t certified for towing in the U.S., so I’m leaning toward hiring movers instead.

Has anyone here towed with a U.S. Mach-E anyway, or moved a similar amount of stuff? Was hiring movers the better decision?

Thanks in advance for y’all’s advise!!!!

Restroom

Guys I'm going to the restroom like a clock, at 11:00 a.m.

I really don't want to lose time in the exam, do u think it would be too irresponsible to take loperamide the morning of the exam?

How do you organize your PT before you start writing?

I've realized my biggest PT weakness isn't the law, it's organization

I keep taking notes by case/rule as I read the Library instead of organizing everything by issue...

Then when I start writing, I'm constantly flipping back and forth between the File and Library trying to figure out where everything belongs. I end up leaving good arguments out and making dumb factual mistakes.

For anyone that does not have PT in the red/yellow zone: Do you outline before writing? If so, how? Do you read the Library first or the File first? How do you quickly turn the authorities into issue headings instead of case summaries?

I really don't have this problem with Essays, for example. Even though I don't remember half of the blackletter rules, I find myself a way to address the issues in the fact patterns somewhat organized. I need something that clicks me. Any advise?

Hearsay/PR Recommended Question?

Does anyone have a good practice Essay question that has a lot to drill in hearsay? And also one for PR conflicts of interest?

I can’t memorize, I just can’t

I’m currently struggling immensely. While I’m not particularly weak in multiple-choice questions (I managed to score 65%, which could be improved), the essays are killing me. I’m attempting to memorize a substantial subject each day.

Today, I focused on Evidence, and I’m currently working on skeleton essays of past exams, trying to regurgitate the rules of the issues. However, I’m finding it incredibly difficult to state the Rules. I do spot the issues but I just don’t know what to put on the Rules. Any ideas ? (Also English is not my first language so that makes it a little bit harder)

Moving to Richland

Any advise ?

EDIT: I moved out of Yakima last year and now I’m coming back to WA. I could decide whether living in Yakima or Tri Cities but I wanted to give Richland a try. Shall it be worthy?

Torts - Directed Verdict/Summary Judgment Questions

I’m really struggling with this. I always believe the jury can still make a reasonable decision on some factual issues, but I seem to be applying the analysis in the wrong way. Do you have any advice?

Moving to the Tri-Cities for a job in Granger — housing and neighborhood advice?

Hi everyone! I recently accepted a nonprofit attorney position based in Granger and will be moving back to Washington from California in early August.

I have lived in Yakima before, but I am considering the Tri-Cities this time because I would like to live somewhere with a little more activity, community, and access to restaurants, gyms and things to do outside of work. I will have a car, and my job follows a hybrid schedule with just 2 days in office.

I would really appreciate any advice on:

  • The differences between Richland, Kennewick, and Pasco for someone in their late twenties
  • Neighborhoods or apartment complexes that are safe, well-maintained, and reasonably quiet
    • For reference, I used to live in one of those University Parkway Apartments in Yakima and I loved them haha.
  • Local property-management companies or landlords you recommend—or strongly recommend avoiding
  • Any general advice for someone new to the Tri-Cities area

I am ideally looking for a studio or one-bedroom or even a two-bedroom. My girlfriend that lives in Yakima probably will move with me in a couple months.

I am still determining my exact housing budget, so recommendations across different price ranges would be useful. Feel free to comment or message me directly if you know of a legitimate rental that may be available in August.

Thank you! I am excited—and admittedly a little nervous—to begin this new chapter in Washington.

Edit: BTW! I have an e-vehicle so I was also wondering how's the chargers network over there!

Help? Big exam

Hi everyone! I stumbled upon this space while looking into brain supplements (I’m not sure if they’re really effective though).

I’m currently preparing for the California Bar Exam as a foreign applicant, and it’s proving to be incredibly draining, unlike anything I’ve experienced before. Even during practice exams or when I’m reviewing my brain checks out, it’s incredibly difficult to focus on the questions and stay on track. It feels like my brain is just foggy.

I feel that I need to find a solution because the exam is in two weeks, and I don’t see myself taking it again, as it’s such a miserable time. I believe I have a chance, but sometimes I feel like I’m fighting with my brain, which is a feeling I’ve never experienced before.

Do you have any ideas?
