Victoria, where to go to have akubra reshaped?

Hi there,

Im 19 and dad gave me his akubra from the 90s and unfortunately it no longer holds the original shape. Does anyone know who to go to in victoria, preferably the yarra valley to get it done?

Cheers 🍻

Gunsmithing question before I see one

Hi there,

Im from Australia and unfortunately we dont have many gunsmiths around so a long drive is required. Before I drive there was just wondering if making a custom scope mount/ring base is something a usual gunsmith can do? Have a sporterised lee Enfield and it has a mount welded on and if wont hold zero, so id like a better setup. Also because the rifle is basterised was thinking of getting it made to have a single piece stock as apparently if that’s something that can be done by a smith, heard thatll help it with accuracy and apparently my grandad always wanted to do it (was his rifle)

Cheers, sorry if i sound dumb.

Winchester 1873 sight opions

Hi everyone, have been using winchester 94 with the buckhorn sights and pretty descent with them and now im after a m73. Really like the carbine style (same as my 94) but they all come with laddar sights, anyone had experience with both if so what is actually better and would it be worth swapping it out with buckhorns?

Cheers

Update on getting into craft beers at 19

Hi guys, thankyou for the recommendations! Have had Hargreaves hills pale ale, lager and ESB and wow delicious especially the ESB, the lager was definitely a more macro style/boring but sessionable. Funny enough the brewery had ran out of the esb cans but my local iga had some 🍻🍻🤣👌. Stout wise ive been drinking Melbourne black and it was delicious but bit $. Next up i will be trying some hop hen variety :)

Keen on getting a used winchester in 357mag, options are winchester 94 and miroku made 73s and 92.

What lever gun is the smoothest miroku 92 or 73

Hi there, was wondering what lever gun is the smoothest out of the m73 and 92. Seems like most say the 73 is but then ive seen people reckon the 92 is smoother. I have a early 80s winchester 94 in 30-30 and a 94ae in 357 and wanting to swap the 94 357 out. I run 158gr loads on pigs in australia so action strength doesnt mean much just want something faster. cheers
