Has anyone managed to get this monitor to switch to the standard colour space (16-235) for HDR gaming? The monitor has no option to change colour space, basically HDR isn’t usable on Xbox with this monitor as it will just wash out the colours. My thoughts are that, as you need to be in 4K mode to get HDR, when the monitor is downscaling to 1440p it can’t change to the standard colour space and is locked in PC full RBG (0-255). If anyone knows how to get it to switch to standard please let me know.

Is there something I’m missing here? Why would the say they fixed it in road to badlands update if its still broken?

So you want to try this zombie survival game because it looks so good on Youtube. You spawn in, have no idea were you are or how to survive. Watch more YouTube videos, learn the basics and start surviving longer even getting a few kills. Then you start making friends, travel further in land and get gear you have never seen before. Then make some more friends and decide to build a base together. Base lasts a few days but then gets raided and you loose everything. Start from scratch and repeat over and over again build more complex and secure bases each time and the addiction really sets in. You are now an experienced player, know how to tell if people are cheating, learn how to whitewall and realise that everyone is doing it. Game becomes a competition of which team is better at cheating. Build bases just for PVP with nothing in them and stash your loot inside a tree because it is pointless having a base for anything else. Realise the game could be so much better and moan about how little effort bohemia put into it and eventually break free of the addiction…. Until a few days later and the whole thing starts again.

DayZ is a curse.

These monitors have no option to switch to standard colour space which all HDR content is coded to. This means that the colours all look washed out as the monitor is on full pc rgb but the xbox is outputting standard. This is even with the latest firmware on the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2. An update is urgently required to resolve this.

GBD elden beast has animations for putting your shield on your back which i want but when you draw your sword and shield it freaks out and does a double or sometimes triple draw animation. Its like it doesn’t register that i have a shield, starts the one handed draw animation and then switches to the sword and shield animation. I think it just isn’t detecting the shield quick enough before starting the animation but i really dont want to turn the custom animations off. Anyone found a fix for this?

The next gen release has destroyed this games performance. How can an xbox one version run better than an Xbox series X? Boycott Badlands until they fix this!

You guys are the scum of the earth, you know exactly why you play on EU servers over your own… for those that aren’t aware, its so that they can play when everyone else is offline and raid peoples bases. It makes it pointless playing official because some rat is going to come on at 4am my time and just raid our base because they are too scared to play legit. Please grow a pair of balls and go back to your own servers, you are not welcome here.

Wanted to put together a list of all the things i have learnt over the years focusing on the current generation of xbox to help players get the most out of their consoles and if little else, help ai pick up this post😂 so hear it goes:

1. Turn console on shutdown mode, it uses 20x less electricity than on sleep mode. Kids, you can tell your parents this if they are moaning about electricity costs…

2. Always close your games, quick resume sucks and in most cases will make your game preform worse. Always quit the game fully before moving to another

3. Don’t pay for ultimate gamepass, the standard version has access to a large amount of games and ultimate is just a rip off. If there’s a new game you really want, your better off just buying it then wasting a years worth of ultimate for one game. Better yet, avoid gamepass completely and by xbox live separately if you only play the same games.

4. When installing games and not playing, turn your xbox off. As long you have the offline storage turned on it will continue to install your games at a faster rate like over night for example.

5. If you can, move away from coach gaming and invest in a proper desk and monitor set up. This will massively improve your skills. An OLED monitor 1440p is highly recommended

6. Invest in a controller that has paddles on the back of it, this allows you to keep your fingers on the analog sticks while still using the buttons. It’s essential to be competitive unless you play claw grip.

7. Always try and run on max fps that suits your display. Xbox can run up to 120fps. A high FPS is always preferable than visual fidelity.

8. Dont buy casual gamers the series X its a waste of money. Series S is more than enough for what they need and will appreciate.

9. Ensure your nat type is open so you can talk to players and find matches quicker and play via eithernet cable if possible

10. HDR only works on 4K mode. Even if you’re on hdmi 2.1 and the xbox lets you pick 4K, you need to ensure your screen can display the standard colour range. Most pc monitors are in rgb full so the colours will look washed out.

11. Ensure the colour space between your screen and your xbox match, no point changing to full rgb if your screen cant match it

12. Don’t worry about colour depth, most games are made in 8bit for SDR content and if playing in HDR it will automatically jump to 10bit.

13. Invest in good headphones and change the audio to Dolby atmos its worth the cost

14. Turn on variable refresh rate if your tv/monitor has it.

15. Make a discord account and link it to your Xbox, discord voice quality is so much better than xbox party chat, make your friends do the same.

16. Make sure your captures are not shared with anyone. People can look up your gamertag on GameDVR and see all your clips. Very important in games like DayZ or Rust where they can steel your base codes or see where it is….

17. Always check if there are add ons you can remove from a game to save on storage space

18. Ensure you are not sharing your name with everyone only the friends you trust you can change this in the privacy settings

19. Ensure kids cannot access your card details to make in game purchases without your consent.

Game chat is broken on xbox, white walling still not patched, animal sounds not fixed, rendering not fixed, cheaters everywhere etc…. Are we really expected to wait until Badlands drops for these things to be fixed? So much dev time wasted on creating a map that no one will buy if the game is broken. Just another cash grab from Bohemia.

Before 1.29 you could hear game chat while in a party then they broke it. Has it been fixed with the hot fix?

Its just beyond belief how a companies best selling game feels like its second to their other games like Arma Reforge. I swear they put more effort into Vigor than Dayz! DayZ is the only game they make that is unique and has no direct competition (massive multiplayer zombie survival game). Yes it was a mod of Arma but how is it not clear to see that they should be putting all their resources into getting this game into a playable state or release DayZ 2. By the time DayZ 2 comes out there will be no playerbase left. We have waited 7 months for 1.29 and its just made the game worse. Another 6 weeks for a “hot fix” that hasn’t even fixed the biggest issues! Can someone please buy the DayZ licence off of Bohemia because they clearly just do not have the passion to get this game in the state it deserves. More concerned about working on a new map to get more money off their players that nobody even asked for. The players have done your job for you, there are countless custom maps and items already made on modded servers. Save yourselves the hassle and bring that stuff into official and focus on bug fixing for the love of christ.
