Katie’s last photo.

Katie would always worry when I’d sit on the ground. As I sat there, wrestling with the difficult decision, she once again left her feed to stand over me. I realized this had been my view of her so many times over the last 25 years.
She was the herd boss. She looked out for all of us.
This isn’t a glamour shot. Her body was failing. But this was such an authentic, beautiful portrait that I couldn’t bring myself to take another photograph.
This was her goodbye.

Mercury Borealis

Companion piece to Mercury Lights. Freddie stood long enough to get 2 moods while the aurora danced above him

Handheld shot of my Collie under the aurora borealis in northern Minnesota

Shot on an iPhone 14 Pro Max during a strong aurora display in northern Minnesota. This was taken handheld in the snow with my Rough Collie, Lukas, standing perfectly still for a long exposure under the lights. No tripod, no AI, just an unreal night sky over the north woods.

Freddie Mercury Lights

I can’t believe Freddie held still for 1/2 a second for me to get this shot 😂

Unknown Peony Cultivar, Family Heirloom Grown for Over 60 Years [OC]

I have photos of this peony from 54 years ago, and it was already a mature plant then. The blooms open with creamy yellow and blush pink tones and gradually fade to white. If anyone recognizes this cultivar, I’d love to know its name.

Misty Sunset Trail Ride

Relaxing ride to clear my mind after a stressful day of work. The sunset was spectacular and I wanted to hang this memory on my wall.
