Farewell to Spring Season: Share Your Opinion on the Animes That You've Watched
As the season have officially ended, I'm curious to read people opinions on the animes of the season. That anime that surprised you, the hidden gem, etc. I want this post to be like a farewell to such as strong season
Now I will write about the animes that I watched and my opinion
Witch Hat Atelier (MAL link): I have heard a lot about this anime, and I was very excited when I first saw it in the season's anime list. The production quality left me speechless a couple of times, and the creativity behind the world is amazing. We have had some cool fantasy last years, see Clevatess, Frieren, or Sentenced to be a Hero, but this level of worldbuilding is astonishing. Coco is such a good choice as main character too, as we can see her growing and learning about this world as we do.
Ramparts of Ice (MAL link): My favotire anime of the season. How real all characters and their interections feels, the slow pacing but each episode have something that you can think about, the chibis and that perfect timed ending. Everything that I love about a romance show, and I won't stop comparing it to my anime of the year, for now, Journal with Witch. It feels like a bless that we are getting a second season so early. We used to pray for times like this
Nippon Sangoku (MAL link): I wasn't sure about this one in the beginning as the art looked kinda weird, but I heard people praise it so I watched it. That first episode blown me away and I knew I was in for a ride. The art style actually helps the story, as it transmits the feeling of being another time, and the animation quality is pretty high throughout the show. If you are unsured about watch it, just give it an opurtunity as I did
Needy Girl Overdose (MAL link): My second favorite anime of the season. Don't let the score trick you. I'm do think that the anime is VERY avant garde and edgy, but it has a story that actually makes sense, and it is easy to understand after the first episode, which is the most confusing one. The people who worked in it apparently were able to put all their ideas as you can find a lot of fun references, art styles, guest animatior, music, etc. The voice actors are amazing too. So, if you are not that much into this kind of show you, I think it is still worth watching because of all the love that you can feel in the project.
Dorohedoro season 2 (MAL link): My third favorite. Don't be afraid for the animation, or the confusing first episode in season one. This show is a hidden gem. The worldbuiling, comedy, characters, story, mistery and fights are top notch. The first season has a lot more comedy and I was laughing until cry a couple of times, such as the baseball match, and the second season is more dark with more epic fights and story progressions
The Klutzy Class Monitor and the Girl with the Short Skirt (MAL link): This anime seems to be the average slop romance show, but it is actually quite good. The charactets are fun and the main love story has an actual progression with a tied ending [I would love a second season tho]. It is worth mentioning that there are times where it goes against what you could expect, and as somebody who as watched a lot af romance it is fun to be tricked.
Akane Banashi (MAL link): One of the best first episodes, but the rest of the show wasn't at the same level, until that last episodes. I never have thought that I would be so invested in something like rakugo, but here we are. The voice actors are the start of the show with some performances that crealy took a lot of practice, and I can just sit down and admire them.
Deamons of the Shadow Realm (MAL link ): From Full Metal Alchemist's author. I can't say that much about it yet becuase it seems to be just starting. I'm enjoying a lot each episode tho, and the openning is a banger. Even when Needy Girl Overdose is my second favorite, I would watch this first Saturdays since I could listen to the op and have some some fun with the gang before the heavy stuff of NGO. Fortunately it is getting two cours.
I Made Friend with the Second Prettiest Girl in my Class (MAL link): This was a fun little rom-com. I would say it is similar to The Klutzy Monitor but with a little more drama than comedy.
An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess (MAL link): This anime surprised me quite a bit. I have read and watched a decent amout of villainess works; therefore, I'm kinda tired of the trope, but this one fucuses on the male lead and that felt very refresh. Cecil is easily top male character this season. It have a closed ending too, and that isn't something that I can say about many other villaniess anime.
Marriagetoxin (MAL link): Another surprise. The synopsis seems kinda slop, but it is actually well executed. The power system is fun, and all the female characters are captivating. It is one of the first times that I would be okay with the MC ending with any of them.
