In the 1950s, some cosmetics companies reportedly hired “lipstick testers” to evaluate lipstick transfer, durability, and color.

The man in these famous photos is often identified as Gilbert “Gil” Larrain, but that identification has never been reliably verified. A fascinating glimpse into vintage beauty testing

Proof (1991)

I stumbled upon this movie almost by accident and decided to watch it because of Russell Crowe and Hugo Weaving.

The movie is about a blind man who takes pictures to help him trust what is around him. He asks a friend to tell him what is in the pictures, but everything changes when a woman comes into their lives. It is a quiet drama about trust and relationships.

Could someone with a Filae subscription help me find any records for my grandfather?

Hi everyone!

I'm researching my family tree and I've reached a dead end. Unfortunately, I can't afford a Filae subscription, so I was hoping someone here might be willing to help with a quick lookup.

I'm looking for my maternal great-grandfather:

Name: Alphonse De Carlos

- He was from the French Basque Country (Iparralde)

- He later lived in Argentina.

- Maybe related with lastname "Richard" or something similar, if helps.

Sadly, that's almost all I know about his origins. I don't know his exact birthplace, birth date, or the names of his parents.

I'd be grateful for any record that mentions him, such as a birth certificate, marriage record, census, military record, or anything else that could help me continue my family research.

I'm doing this purely to learn more about my family's history and origins. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your time and kindness!

(Edit: not my grandfather, sorry, english isn't my first language.)

I found in the streets this small plastic pouch that seems to be related to sewing supplies, maybe? It had this puzzle inside. Could anyone help me identify them or provide more information about both items? I couldn't find much information about either of them online.

Lograron tener alguna miniatura de su auto preferido? Si es así, de cual? Lograron conducir ese modelo alguna vez en "escala real"?
