Did you lose any height?

I’m 6’2 pre HRT, hoping to start this year. My height is probably my biggest insecurity after my voice. In most articles I haven’t seen height shrinkage as one of the HRT effects, but I have also sometimes seen individual people say they shrank up to 3 inches on HRT, is this common?

Names similar to Alycia, Emilia and/ or Olivia?

I know they all end at “ia”, but this isn’t a requirement. I’m discussing names with someone else and I like the first ones and she likes the third one, but none have really hit it for us both yet…

How did you overcome your height insecurity?

I’m very close to 6’2. For now I have only come out to my family, but planning to come out to more people and dress publically soon and hopefully get HRT this year.
Every time I’m in public, I can’t help but notice I’m taller than at least 99.5% of women and the majority of men. I know there are cis women taller than me. Karlie Kloss and Elizabeth Debicki are some celebrity examples of this and since I live in the Netherlands it’s not THAT uncommon to see tall women irl too.

But my problem isn’t just in the height, it’s in the fact that you get noticed easily too. I’m afraid that every flaw will get seen so much easier and combined with my height will make it much harder to pass. It’s like I’m already 1-0 behind…

How did you overcome this?

What personality do you associate with the name “Olivia”? And the same question for “Emilia”?

What kind of person comes to mind when you hear those names?

Not feeling great after successful coming out

Today I (23 mtf) came out to my family. There was some crying, but they did accept me and fully support me. I feel like I should be happy, but all the doubts and fears that build up over the last few months when I was trying to come out are still here. I want to be happy, but all I can think is “what if I’m making a very big mistake?”

Does this seem familiar? Any ideas on how to handle this? Am I making a mistake?

What if I won’t pass?

This is my (23 almost 24) biggest fear about transitioning. And I know that passing isn’t why you should transition, but I can’t help but fear it.

I’m not a very depressed person. I tolerate life as a man, but I don’t exactly like it and have always considered transitioning. I feel I’d be much more confident as a binary (trans) woman. If I could switch a button and woke up as a cis woman tomorrow, I would.

But I can’t. And now I’m scared of either situation:
- Continueing my okayish life, but possibly feel worse and worse and eventually either transition way later in life, or regret not having transitioned altogether
- Transitioning, but not passing. I can tolerate my tall stature (6’2, like Karlie Kloss and Elizabeth Debicki), but I’m scared my face will never pass (or pass initially but then not passing anymore as I age) and then not only get judged for it by myself, but also by society, probably making life a lot less easy to tolerate

It kind of feels like a gamble with my life… As if I am about to flip a coin hoping to pass and have the life I always wanted, or miss and be far worse off

[mtf] Long-term complications from srs: how common is this?

I don’t think there has been any research to this topic, so I’m more asking for personal experience and what you possible heard from other trans women.

I have always been aware of short-term complications that may need to be fixed soon after with a second surgery. But yesterday I watched a video from Mathilda Hogberg, where she said she suddenly got a complication with peeing years after the initial surgery. Is this a common thing? Maybe I was naive, but I didn’t expect such stories…

#oresforall… But only if you active players keep spending money on stuff we are giving away to everyone else for free. This is insulting…#stopgivingsupercellmoney

Active players have been begging for a fix in the ore economy for over a year. Then they continue to partially fix it for everyone, EXCEPT active players. I’m sorry, but I’m not even gonna spend a penny on ores anymore until they fix this system in a way that’s fair for everyone.

If we want change, we have to stop spending. Money is the only language they speak at Supercell these days…

Scared to come out, how do I overcome this fear?

For starters: I overthink, a lot. I have come out to my GP and my therapist, but I obviously want to come out to more people, firstly my direct family.
I know they will accept me (after being shocked at first probably). But I’m so scared I’ll ruin my life instead of making it better.

I don’t have a bad life, but I really struggle to picture myself in it as a man. Why? I don’t know (this is part of what makes it harder to come out, because I can’t even explain it to myself). And what if I come out, and I’ll regret it? What if I can’t live as a woman? Can’t make friends, find a (male) partner? Regret not being able to get (my own) kids, can’t get a career? Will never pass?

I have so many fears, I’m scared that I’m taking the life I live now for granted and that I’m going to to regret it… Is this normal? Or am I really making the wrong choice?

How do you answer the “how did you know you are transgender/a man/a woman/any other (non)gender?” question?

This is a question my therapist asked and it’s a question I [mtf] have been struggling with for myself for a while. It’s something I wanted to figure out before I started the process, but I kinda figured it doesn’t really matter and all I know is that this is what I want and trying to find the answer would only make me wait longer.

But now that she asked it, I realized this will probably become a question I’ll get a lot from other people too. I’m thinking about coming out soon to people around me too (so far I only told my gp, therapist etc) and I figured having a way to describe my feelings would help?

I also feel like most answers I could reasonably think of are either nonsense (I like to be friends with women, but then why not just be friends with them as a man?) or straight up sexist (i’d like to wear makeup, cute clothes etc) and when I’d ask “how does a cis person know? I feel like the arguably transphobic response would often be “they look at what’s between their legs” or something…

Is there even a good answer for it? I’m struggling to find an answer and it’s so frustrating to not be able to explain what I feel

I’m afraid my South African online friend has died. What can I do?

We have been texting a lot for sometime now. She said she moved to South Africa a few years ago for family reasons. She was always online a lot and said the only way she’d ever randomly leave is if she died (she said that after I asked if she could please let me know if she would ever leave).
Two days ago we were supposed to text at a set time. She left my messages a few hours prior on read (she never does that). The messages after were never read. Text messages weren’t delivered any longer and other apps (movies, streams on music platforms) completely stopped updating too. Conclusion: her phone is AND iPad are broken or disconnected from the internet and/or turned off completely.
She never was offline for more than a few hours and she said she would never leave randomly, so disappearing all of a sudden seems really strange to me. My biggest fears are an accident at home/the road, kidnapping or homicide.
I have used her first name, age and city to try and find news articles of such a thing happening, but I couldn’t find it. Her name isn’t on the list of missing persons either, but I don’t think all cases would show up there or become a news article, especially if it was an accident at home.
I’m completely lost and have no idea if there is still anything I can do.

I know my options are probably limited, but do you have any tips I can do? Is there a place where I can see if any fatal traffic accidents, kidnappings or homicide happened in a city for example?
