What certs?

Hi!

I'm currently an IT doing sysadmin stuff, kinda. I have been working for a company for 1 year and I did like 3 years of intership as a low level IT. My job currently has no intune and their AD and GPOs are minimals, I'm planning on using intune soon and cleaning up said AD.

I'm learning sysadmin stuff and I work with an external IT company. When I meet a problem I can't solve and I seem to not find the solution, I reach them and ask them to help me out while explaining me the solution.

I'm learning fast and I would like to do some certifications. I would like to do more cybersecurity stuff but I would also like to learn more as a sysadmin. Is it a good idea to do certifications on both domains or should I really just do one and focus on one path?

What format for a server

Hi,

I want to own my first server at my place to stream my own music, movies and stock my files. Classic case.

I am not sure what kind of machine I should buy and or build. I am considering a pre-built NAS, a Raspberry Pi or building a PC (mATX, ITX?) and making it a server.

I don't have a lot of money, it is only for my own pleasure but I would like my server to last for a while and be versatile (maybe also hosting video games servers?).

So, my question is the following : does the format matter? If so, what are the pros and cons of each format?

Also, I am new to this so sorry if the question seems stupid.

EDIT: I know I could buy a broken laptop or used tower, but they cost almost the same as the other choices I mentioned so I'd rather go with something new than used.

Order issue, what can I do?

I ordered on the application, went to the restaurant and they said my order was never received.

I ordered with doordash and got it delivered.

I contacted support, they said that I did come get my order (probably the doordash) and that I cannot be reimbursed. They then closed my ticket.

What can I do?

EDIT ; on the app, my order was being processed and then was ready. I know the payment went through.

Clarification for triggers

Hi, I’m planning on building an EDH deck with [[Chief of the Wilds]] as the commander. I was wondering whether a card like [[Rhovanion Rampager]] would require me to sacrifice another creature twice, or if the sacrifice is part of the trigger.

Will you buy these?

I know everyone wants Sly Cooper's Youtooz figures, but... is anyone here actually planning on getting Murray and Bentley?

Personally, I love both characters, but I don't think their figures look that good. Bentley is just sitting in his wheelchair when they could've had him using his sleep darts or tossing bombs instead. As for Murray, he's doing his iconic pose, but I think it would've been much cooler if he'd been using his flame fists or had the Guru riding on his shoulders.

Finally, my black labels are reunited

Next step is buying them sealed! Then might buy the red labels.

My first ever commander deck

Hello everyone,

I'm a huge Wolverine fan, and when I saw Wolverine, Best There Is, I had no choice but to build a deck around him.

I’m also planning an EDH night with my friends, and it will be my first time playing Commander. I put together this EDH deck and I would love to get some feedback, criticism, and ideas on what I should keep or change.

Keep in mind that we agreed to play decks from brackets 1, 2, and 3.

Help for understanding an interaction between cards.

Hello!

I'm trying to build a Hydra tribal deck, and I need some help understanding how this interaction works.

I'm playing Zaxara, the Exemplary ("Whenever you cast a spell with X in its mana cost, create a 0/0 green Hydra creature token, then put X +1/+1 counters on it.") and Unbound Flourishing ("Whenever you cast a permanent spell with a mana cost that contains X, double the value of X.").

Here's how I think it works:

If I cast a Hydra that costs {X}{G} with X = 5, Unbound Flourishing doubles X to 10. The Hydra enters with ten +1/+1 counters, and since X is now 10, Zaxara creates a Hydra token with ten +1/+1 counters as well.

However, I'm worried it might actually work like this:

If I cast a Hydra with X = 5, Unbound Flourishing doubles X to 10, so the Hydra enters with ten +1/+1 counters, but Zaxara still sees the original value of X (5) and creates a token with only five +1/+1 counters.

Which interpretation is correct?

What class should I be?

Hello adventurers,

I am currently working on a new character and I need your help to determine their class.

The character is a Bearfolk who owns a tavern and welcomes adventurers. They cook their own food and create their own recipes. They often wander through the woods in search of new ingredients and culinary inspiration.

One day, they encountered a red dragon. After offering it a delicious meal, the dragon decided not to kill them on one condition: the dragon could use the Bearfolk senses at any time to observe the outside world without leaving the cave. In return, the dragon also granted the character a few abilities (TBD).

The Bearfolk is kind-hearted and like going on adventures and wish to offer the dragon the most remarkable journey it could ever witness.

For now, this is the core of the story. I will develop it further once I decide on the character’s class. I am hesitating between playing a Warlock (the obvious choice, though I’m not a big fan of Warlocks), a Ranger (possibly with the Drakewarden subclass), or a Fighter to keep things simple (big chef knife goes brrr).

Do you have any ideas for this PC?

Heat Metal is AWESOME.

Hello adventurers!

I'm currently building an Artificer and stumbled across something that seems kind of crazy.

I was looking through the 2nd-level spells to see which ones could maximize my damage, and I came across Heat Metal. At first I thought, "Nice spell. Seems fun for roleplay and situational encounters." Then I noticed it can target any metal armor.

That got me curious, so I checked how long it takes to doff armor. A creature needs 1 minute to remove medium armor and 5 minutes for heavy armor.

Then it clicked.

Heat Metal lasts 1 minute, and after the initial cast you can use your bonus action every turn to deal another 2d8 fire damage. Since 1 minute is 10 rounds, a creature wearing medium armor basically can't get it off before the spell ends.

That's potentially 20d8 total damage (2d8 on the initial cast + 2d8 on each of the next 9 bonus actions) from a 1st-level spell, assuming you can maintain concentration and keep using your bonus action. And if you're an Artillerist with Arcane Firearm, you get an extra 1d8, bringing the total up to 21d8 over the full minute.

Am I missing something here, or is Heat Metal just absurdly strong against enemies wearing metal armor?

EDIT : 21d8 and not 30d8.

EDIT : 2nd-level, not 1st-level!

Newbie & Cucumbers

Hello! I'm new to plants and I decided to try my hands on tomatoes and cucumbers. They're doing well in my opinion but my cucumber seems to extend only in one way lol. I don't know if I should buy a bigger pot or a bigger support? What do you think?
