A combat patrol/500 point starter list I cooked up
probably sucks, ngl
Edit: I forgot to reset the names of my Rough riders! The “Motorcycle troops” are supposed to be rough riders. I just named them that to remember to pay for an STL I found

Basics: The Emperor’s Lance is a codex compliant, imperial creed adherent loyalist chapter of the Ultima founding.
They’re Decedents of Dorn and hold the same gene defects of their parent legion. Although their gene lineage can not be traced to any specific chapter. It is believed their gene seed comes from a mix of many different sons of Dorn
Their current chapter master is Iscarn Varric
Background: The chapter was created with no specific goal or objective in mind. Though their chosen purpose in the galaxy was derived by two mistakes.
The first was a mistake on the part of the administratum. The chapter received little to no heavy armor vehicles.
Second, when a cadre from various imperial fists chapters was put together to form the command of the chapter there was a disproportionate amount of 9th company leaders, Devastator veterans, and other commanders and leaders that specialized in heavy firepower.
Tactics: a lack of vehicles and top down presences for firepower created the chapters doctrine that favors man portable heavy weapons, and was personal heavy armor. The chapter favors the MkX Gravis, and Centurion armor. And weapons like las-cannons, auto cannons, heavy bolsters, multi-meltas, etc.
This leave them a not very flexible force. Although they posses lighter and more tactical forces, they’re usually understaffed and supported.
On the battlefield they use slow moving mobile fire lines. Slowly creeping forward unleashing a wall of heavy firepower.
Relations:
Adeptus Mechaicus: they have a slightly above average number of tech marines and a good relationship with the Mechanicus. This is out of necessity because of their heavy weapons.
Guard, pdf, and other human forces: The Fire lines of the Emperors lances are not flexible things. And there are reports of marines gunning down entire regiments of refugee camps on accident due to poor placement. Either from the marines or the humans. They don’t aim for people. But they view holding fire, rotating their lines, or aiming away as a waste of their weapons potency.
Other imperial fists chapters: They’re a very proud of their Dorn lineage and are extremely happy to work with other forces
Other chapters: They’re willing to work with other chapters. Though they will sometimes avoid battlefields with high amounts of fast moving characters (white scars, blood angles)

tell me about your champions! your duelists! your bests of the bests
I like seeing the armor trim colors on companies that don’t usually get the spot
to people who homebrew multiple factions, which one is your favorite to do
would love to hear yalls opinions (mines Ironman)
I’ve heard that some ships that don’t have access to navigators will use computers and wrap routes to jump from system to system
Are they more or less common than navigator ran ships, could someone like a planetary governor get their hands on one?
dont care for regiment, just want some vroom vrooms
So I’ve been confused recently on what counts as a modification vs a heretical invention. Because I would think something like the hellhamer would be bad due to it being just a baneblade but they switched the gun. Same story with the Chimera Defender/Storm Chimera. And it doesn’t just apply to the gun used. The Armageddon pattern basilisk totally changes the body! So what can and can’t be changed?
so gene stealer vehicles like the ridgerunner and Goliath truck where originally imperial vehicle (lore wise) so I was wondering if any one has a imperial proxy for these vehicles?
I’ve been making some characters for a wrath and glory campaign when I came to an interesting problem when it come to Hot-Shot weaponry. Now in most depictions of Hot-shot las weapons they’re attached to a large back mounted power pack, with cables connecting the weapon to the back. Though I also see depictions where they have normal power pack. This is especially true with hotshot las pistols, where it’s almost a coin flip on whether it will have a normal pack or cables? Are cables required? Is there any major differences I’m missing?
