Just admiring

Just sitting in my yard admiring my Manzanita cycles , Manifesto. AKA Blue Steel. This was born here in Reno NV just a few short miles from my house, built for our local trails. It's hard to believe I held each tube before it was a bike. I watched the builder mindfully cut each joint to perfection. I held and drooled over the bare steel, and learned about how they are butted. This year my steeds didn't see much trail time, which is hard to say. I went from a 1000 miles summer to a summer with less than 100 miles. Work, kids summer schedules and hot AF Reno heat.

But I can feel it, the shoulder season is right around the corner. Tahoe is about to get even more magical than it already is. Summer crowds have left and crisp morning air with tacky trails approaching . Im ready for some flow high alpine leaf peeping trails, and super slow rocky tech crawling. These 2.6 tires and low PSI love to eat. Give you bike some live because good times are coming!!

Bodyguard 2.0 FTE

Update. My local Scheels swapped me out for a new one. Definitely made sure to check the internals before leaving.

I recently posted in the CCW group about my brand new bodyguard unable to extract a round. Then I’d strip the mag, forcefully pull the case off the extractor….repeat. It appears when you buy a 2026 SW bodyguard they don’t include an ejector 😂 can someone with a carry comp confirm that’s what I am missing?

yes another bodyguard issue

Tried searching but wasn't successful ( also while at Costco ). I have a new bodyguard 2.0 CC and tried it today. I was soooo excited until the first round went off. I went before a match so it was quick, but out of the three mags I got one two to cycle rounds to actual cycle. FTE and FTE. Stop pipe breach to rear end while I was using blazer 95g. I know I probably need to break it in but damn that sucked.. Anyone experience this ? Does blazer suck that bad in this gun? Or is the extractor spring that damn strong?

Vibes

HD, calculated kinetics plate and grip insert, apex, Floyd’s. 507 comp. Apex extractor. Going to try a 14 and 15 lb recoil spring due to brass slamming off my optic. Started after around 1k rounds.

10 mm amigos

If one was buying their first 10mm , would you pick the 5.6” ported or the 4.25 chuck port carry comp version? It will be a fun gun, hip gun, bring with us in the trailer gun

This is for the bike dads/moms

My kid is ready for a 24in bike. I’m still leaning towards hardtail due to weight and not mega shredding yet. I will add a dropper to the two that aren’t from factory. He has ridden the P2 trail. The bikes I’m eyeing are-

Prevelo Zulu 4
Specialized riprock comp 24
Specialized P2 trail.

The Zulu is 22 pounds and the others are 26ish. Does anyone have any insight on this? Do I go Zulu for weight or go with the specialized ?

Zulu is mega built toward the little human

HD competitor.

Bought this gun and put a brand new optic on it. Now as of lately it looks like my optic has seen some brass case love . It appears my ejection pattern has changed and now hitting my 507. Have people been wearing out the extractor in these new guns? I probably have around 1000 rounds on it so far.

Transmission overfill

Had a lovely experience as we started off towing the trailer on a 5 hour tow. About 30 minutes in I looked back and we were dumping smoke out both sides !! We quickly pulled over to investigate. Transmission fluid everywhere!!!! Even all the way down both sides of the trailer.

I had my transmission serviced two weeks prior, fluid change and filter , along with front differential + transfer case (I did the rear differential)

We decided it’s best to return to the transmission shop for inspection. Turns out it was an overfill on their behalf and it finally reached expansion to use the blowout vent, doing its job. I use the word blowout because it literally went everywhere. Almost looked like a blew out a transmission wall. They cleaned everything , readjusted the transmission level and back on the road a short 45 minutes.

New drip

Hi all. My house has 5 dedicated sprinkler lines and it’s one drip line. That one has its own inline regulator. My backyard box has a line which is not used anymore due to a bow rocks and a playground. (Middle). So of course my wife wants more plants but my current drip is pretty stacked with dripppers.

My question is. Do I add an additional green box near this one and just cut into the middle line, add an inline regulator with shutoff valve? Then PVC to poly line and run it? I’d have to add some 90’s to get it up above the other two lines. Please advise.
