Lingo count just got lower

i don’t par follow or pay to much attention to my target Lingo count. It’s been at 20 for a very long time. Today, I noticed that it’s been lowered to 15. Seems like that would be a hard target to maintain day in and day out. Anyone know the rationale for why it all of a sudden lowered?

Not diabetic nor would my insurance cover it. Anyone paying cash for Eversense?

I’m really interested in Eversense, but even if I can get a doctor to prescribe it, the cash price looks pretty rough.

Has anyone here paid out of pocket for one? What did it actually cost?

I also don’t really understand why a CGM needs a prescription. If I know insurance won’t cover it and I’m willing to pay for it myself, why can’t I just buy one?

Relocating the backup camera?

Finally got around to installing the tire carrier and camp table/kitchen. Installed the four-pin adaptor for the license plate light. Are there any viable options for relocating or tapping into the factory backup camera?

Soft Boiled Eggs...

Still trying. I can get the yolks perfect, but the whites are a complete mess. 1st batch: 149 degrees for 50 mins. The yolks were silky-thick, but the whites were still nearly translucent. 2nd batch: 158 degrees for 40 mins. The yolks were jammy and spreadable, but still the whites were a little more opaque and held no shape. Up next will be 167 degrees for 18 mins... Fingers crossed.

Open air

Now that Slate finally posted the Open Air Kit price ($3,950), I’m even more confused about how it compares to the Squareback SUV kit.

Originally, I figured the Open Air version was basically the Squareback without the hard top, plus a few trim pieces to clean everything up. But now, between the price and the compatibility notes, I’m wondering if there’s more to it than that.

My ideal setup would be to run the Squareback most of the year, then swap to Open Air when I want. I just don’t want to have to buy both full kits to make that happen.

File under Duh- but I just figured this out.

Shave before applying the sensor.

I'm moderately hairy at most and didn't give it a second thought for my first several sessions. But man, ripping those things off at the end of two weeks was just awful. Now, with a quick little 3"x3" shave, it makes all the difference in the world.

Anyone know of any current deals or discounts on OTC CGMs?

I've been using Lingo for a while now and really like it, but it definitely adds up. Every promo I find seems to be for new customers, and I haven't seen much for existing users.

I'd be open to trying Dexcom Stelo too if there are any good deals. I'm not loyal to one brand. But I also know that retention is cheaper than acquisition. I'm just looking to save a few bucks without giving up using a CGM.

If you've found any discounts, subscription hacks, coupon codes, or other ways to lower the cost, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

Fit Check (need help)

I've been messing with this pack for about a month now, and I'm ready to start over.

It's an Outdoorsmans external frame with the Atlas Trainer and an adjustable shoulder yoke, hip belt, sternum strap, and just about every adjustment you can think of. I've watched videos, read old posts, and tried a bunch of different setups, but I still can't seem to find the sweet spot.

For these photos, I basically reset everything. I loosened and extended all the straps so I could start from scratch instead of guessing where I went wrong.

A little background:

  • 6'4", 190 lbs, 22.5" torso
  • 50 lbs (2 x 25 lb plates)
  • Just for cardio, 2 miles twice a day
  • Before this, I used a weighted vest daily and worked up to 60 lbs without any issues

The pack isn't giving me much downward pressure on my shoulders. Instead, it feels like the shoulder straps are pulling my shoulders back and digging into the front of my shoulders, right near the top of my armpits. My arm swing feels restricted, and after a while I start getting some numbness in my arms.

Right now I'm thinking the yoke may actually be too high, even though my torso is on the longer side. My next step is to lower it one notch and see if that changes how the shoulder straps wrap around my shoulders. Does that sound like the right direction, or am I looking in the wrong place?

Does anything else jump out at you from the photos? Does the yoke look too high, too low, or is something else off? Any advice from people who have this frame or have spent a lot of time under a ruck would be appreciated.

Thanks! I'm hoping I'm just missing something obvious.

So I called Red Rock...

As a follow-up to the email I got from Mochi. Red Rock sent me a text, so I called the number they provided. Everyone I spoke with was very nice, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the situation.

They told me they have a sister company called Wellness Stream that could take over my care and continue fulfilling prescriptions through Red Rock. The introductory offer they gave me was $250/month for the first six months, after which the price would increase to $325/month.

I've been very happy with the service I've received from Red Rock, and my interactions with Wellness Stream have been positive so far. That said, I'm having a hard time justifying the higher cost. My personal view is that tirz is tirz, assuming it's coming from a reputable source and the quality is consistent.

For now, I'll be staying with Mochi. The pricing still makes the most sense for me, and I've generally had a good experience with them. I'll continue to monitor how this situation develops and reevaluate if needed.

I wanted to share this information for anyone else who received the same email and was wondering what alternatives Red Rock was offering.

Mid-Cycle DEXA Check-In at 51 | Lean Mass Up, BF Down

Just got my latest DEXA back and wanted to share the progress so far. This was about 3 months between scans.

Started at 183.6 lbs and 9.5% body fat. Latest scan came in at 192.7 lbs and 7.2% body fat.

Lean mass went from 159.2 lbs to 171.9 lbs while fat mass dropped from 17.5 lbs to 13.9 lbs.

Current protocol is 350 mg Test/week, 4 IU HGH daily, 300 mg NAD+ weekly, 30 mg MOTS-c weekly, and 2 mg GHK-Cu daily.

Training has been consistent, food intake has been high, recovery has been noticeably better, and strength is climbing steadily.

Labs should be back next week.

From Weighted Vest to Ruck Setup

Hey everyone, figured I’d introduce myself since I just joined the sub.

I’m 51, 6’4”, about 190 lbs. I’ve been using a weighted vest for about a year now, just a basic Ethos vest, and I usually do around 4 miles daily with 60 lbs. That’s basically the extent of my cardio these days. I also do basic resistance training 3 to 4 days a week.

I recently picked up a basically brand new Outdoorsman Atlas Trainer on Marketplace for stupid cheap, only $100. Honestly, it’s probably overkill for what I do, but I couldn’t pass it up at that price.

So far I’ve only used it twice at 35 lbs just to get a feel for it, but I’m liking it. The muscle memory and mechanics feel pretty different compared to the vest setup I’m used to.

I’m definitely more of a visual learner, so if anyone has recommendations for good videos on proper fitment and adjustments, I’d appreciate it.

Looking forward to learning more from this sub and seeing what everyone else is doing.

How long can you have a sensor “installed” before you turn it on?

I’m going to be traveling and I want to apply a new sensor before my current sensor has expired. How long can a wear a new sensor before activating it?
