Those people who can afford it should install a home flood control system.

I think it's time for many people to start doing that to manage the water, I don't understand why are those burgeoisies and other upper class neighborhoods just letting their house submerge in high amount of water. Those damages can cause costs more than the installation, it's such a waste and it can also be dangerous kapag naabot ng tubig yung mga sockets, light switch, and other electrical things. It's even better if those who lives in subdivisions coordinate with other homeowners to plan and invest para mas affordable or kahit yung mga simpleng pumps and barrier gates lang to prevent it from worsening.

The solution to the problems of the country encompasses more things rather than voting better.

Okay... hear me out. I know how important voting appropriately is, but we could put an "ideal" politician in a position that we think suits them more, but we're not really able to predict if they can still be good at it. We might use their current abilities and platforms, but it's not guaranteed and vice versa for politicians known for having a bad reputation because, at the end of the day, it is somehow still a politicians' responsibility to guide them on how to fix issues and excel at providing service.

I know how this sounds.

Calm down, I'm not denying that it's partly people's fault. I'm simply saying those things might be what's causing the problem. The problems of the country are broad. You cannot use a single solution and expect it to be efficient for every case.

For example, extreme flooding in many areas of the country, politicians and those involved in the flood control scheme have a huge root, but it won't end by voting for those who we think are better. We can have an honest politician and dishonest contractors, human and environmental factors, result of geographical location and poor urban planning, so our solutions should counter most of these causes if not all.

The new SHS curriculum (SSHS) is inefficient.

(1) it's short-sighted. It's mainly aiming to widen jobs aligned with that elective by promising to give students more work immersion, but we aren't making more opportunities if the local companies don't change their standards. If many companies out there are actually looking for people with experience and a degree, where can those people who are planning to work after receiving their SSHS diploma go?

Aside from that, research is removed, so, when we go to college/university, we have to learn how to do that by ourselves (just a minor issue).

(2) Elective-based advantage, the number of specialized subjects depends on your elective. Don't get me wrong, they're giving us a lot of slack by reducing the 15 core subjects to 5. But if we are separating strands/electives that used to be together, we are restricting paths students could take.

For example, STEM, rn, there's Health-allied STEM and EngTech. If it was still STEM, they can choose whether they'll be working in a health-related or engineering and technology-related field, now, that's not applicable.

I don't understand the purpose of simplifying it when it has more core subjects. The core subjects are 5 in every strand. The number of specialized subjects depends on your elective.

I'm studying Health-allied STEM, there are only 2 specialized subjects. Those subjects have different versions for 2 whole years, but they lack variety to cover other fields relating to health. For other electives, they have more subjects and opportunities.

There are so many ass shows that I can't even rationally explain to myself why they're trendy.

Many series and movies that have been famous ever since this 21st century are ass. Those shows makes me wonder if we're regressing as a society, but many people would come for you if you say that this show isn't good or you don't like it. Sex is a normal thing, but always featured in many American movies unnecessarily because it sells. If people like that, they might as well just watch porn. But why are many female characters are almost always portrayed as sex objects? It is sometimes the reality, but with progressive ideologies, there's no way shows are still doing that.

I understand some likes those shows because they might relate to it or what. Some of those explore dark and cruel topics, I can take that, but dark is different from nonsensical. It's true that most people glorify those characters who have a fucked up life and excuse them for their bad behavior and decisions. It's not solely their fault, but realistically, atleast one person who grew up in that environment would want to be the opposite and get it together. Always cliché plots too. Plus, the acting isn't as good as people make it seem. The bar is so low OMG. Btw, I chose to be very specific with my words because I'm referring to some certain shows below. If you can't handle it, don't read it.

Examples:

-Shameless

-XO Kitty

-The Summer I Turned Pretty, wtf you mean you dated brothers and people will romanticize it, and you achieved a so-called glow-up by removing your braces and glasses? I'd understand if that wasn't released in 2022, but it was.

-Euphoria, I don't know if they were told to act cringe or they just naturally act like that, but they said people like it because the acting is good

-Gilmore Girls

-Mean Girls

-Obsession

-Heated Rivalry

Filipino cuisine is not unhealthy.

I often hear some Filipinos complaining about how unhealthy our food is and I disagree. Let's start with the common ingredients of many of our meals. We mostly eat rice, meat, fish, and vegetables together or separately sometimes. If we eat it together, that's a source of carbohydrates, fiber, healthy fats, and protein which are needed for a "balanced diet". Common dishes that have those nutrients are sinigang, kare-kare, pakbet, chop suey, munggo etc. The things we add for flavor might be an issue, but we also have spices like ginger and garlic, which are antioxidants that augment immune function. That diet provides energy that the body needs to function efficiently and to prevent growth and developmental problems. By having these foods, it's already easy for us to achieve a balanced diet.

Some of us also do eat processed foods, yet it's not exactly unhealthy because, first, it's bacteria-free, and they have added minerals and vitamins, not to mention their convenience and accessibility, especially for underprivileged households. Now, if you're counterclaiming it by telling me about the fiesta foods; lechon, shanghai, pata, sisig, halu halo, and so on, there's no doubt that those are unhealthy. But how often do we actually eat those? Aren't they mostly for special occasions, proving that most of us know how to eat them moderately? I'd also like to say that what we choose to eat and how we eat is the bigger concern because our food is diverse, we have a lot to pick from, and the healthier ones would also be cheaper.

Mutya Orquia shares a video about her mental health.

"Mental health struggles can't always be seen, and not everyone who is hurting will ask for help. let's always choose kindness, patience, and understanding. A simple check-in, a listening ear, or a few words of encouragement can mean more than we realize.", she captioned.

This proves that regardless of how close you are to the person, you can't easily figure out who has been silent in their battles and who is afraid of asking for help. Even if their life looks nice on social media, it can still be different. Everyone talks about it, yet we can rarely help someone who's struggling because it's not easy yet we have never tried. To everyone who's struggling, I hope the world goes easy on you. I hope you can triumph.

I mean, may mga batang kaya na mag-explore at that age pero most of them are still having fun. Kahit joke lang 'yon, pwede silang maging uncomfortable kapag nakita 'yon and pwede nilang i-misinterpret. Tsaka, would you go up to a kid and tell them that in person? Ewan ko, ang weird lang ng dating sa akin.

Gigil ako sa mga scammers.

Recently, I've been receiving such messages more than usual and they would first greet, then offer jobs. Yung mga account, wala pang one month. Sunod-sunod ito nangyayari ah. I don't want to delete my Telegram account kasi may mga taong doon ko lang pwedeng i-message kapag hindi sila active sa ibang social media apps. Hindi ko ma-private kasi may bayad pero anyways, I'm mainly posting this for you guys to be aware. Screenshot niyo lagi yung message and yung number (if mayroon) bago kayo mag-respond and block niyo na ka-agad kasi baka ma-track pa nila yung personal information ng account niyo. I'm only responding para pag-tripan at murahin sila. Isa pa yung Zeny Gutierrez na babaeng may purple na jacket profile tapos naka-mirror shot.

Gigil ako sa mga Filipinong pasosyal.

Saw a video of a private chef cooking and when I read the comments, everyone was telling him to get an iPhone which will be beneficial for his contents. But, when I saw someone say, "ang dugyot tingnan" and other comments like that, I found it over the top. Mind you, it wasn't even that bad, it just didn't look like a camera with an iPhone quality. As if naman bibilihan niyo siya and the guy is probably just being practical. So, kapag naka-iPhone, expensive tingnan and mukhang cheap kapag hindi? That's the problem with SOME Filipinos, I'd understand kung doon lang nangyayari pero hindi eh. Kapag walang flashy things, purita ka na agad eh, and you will be discriminated for it. Ginagawa nating measurement itong nga ganyang bagay to determine social status, which is wrong kasi many of us don't think that even people with money spend wisely. I understand that this has become rampant in our society long ago. Ironically, it never fails to surprise me.

Let's talk about why Imee Marcos is one of the most suspicious politician to me (Not something new).

Let's start with Archimides Trajano, who was a student activitist found dead on 1977, days after questioning Imee for being the National Chairman of the Kabataang Baranggay. He was tortured and kidnapped by military personnel which was under Imee's authority. The mother filed a case after the dictatorship, but the 1991 Hawaii Court judgment has never been enforced because the Philippine Supreme Court barred it. Imee even said, "Yes, Archimedes Trajano was tortured and killed but it’s none of your business.”. If you're reading this and still planning to vote for Imee, then you aren't any different from her. She knew the law, but didn't acquire the degree and one of her professor said she was a "smart cookie". Remember that.

She publicly revealed that her own brother and his family was using drugs in an Iglesia ni Cristo Rally. There could have been many cards to play with, but why did she pick that one? Those people are Duterte and Marcos allied, they also have a bloc voting system. Now, 2 Marcoses are split, unlike, the Villars and the Cayetanos that are staying in one side, Imee could have possibly convinced them because INCs were orginally DDS. If it's not about blood for her, then it's about which side is she going to have more power from. A very self-fish move, indeed.

On social media, she's acting as an innocent, naive, anti-corrupt politician who have been very close with Sarah, when in fact, she has been calculated with her moves and analyzing every situation. This might be the obvious, but that's nothing to thousands of Filipinos who are being fooled everyday. The bigger questions is why are many politicians siding with Sarah, is it only a matter of having the same voters and supporters or something else even more serious?

Many moderators can't do their job properly.

It pisses me off so bad. I'm not even the type to get mad easily, but, why are there so many dumbass moderators who will ban your posts even if you're following rules. They make the rules themselves, but can't even understand it. Ironic. They'll apply it in their own interpretation and when you message them and argue that you are following the rules, they will say you're not allowed to message them or they wouldn't reply. They never offer solutions, why make a community in the first place if you're going to be selective and biased about people? So fucking stupid and incompetent. Imbeciles lol. I cursed a moderator recently because of it and they banned me (lol), I'm not proud, but it angers me so much. Also, why would some call subs vent or rant sub if there are restrictions, you can't talk about this that and shit, then that's not venting or ranting. Should've added venting or ranting with restrictions. You will make a sublike that but you all too weak to take anything. Yall so fucking stupidd. Sorry not sorry. Idk why am I being hella immatured and insane today.

Should I quit learning?

It's been more than a year, since I started learning and I learned things in Youtube and basic lessons with an instructor. I just feel like it wasn't made for me, I haven't learned a single song and I'm also not very motivated to practice. It's just so hard for me and I just realized that there's no reason to be doing this. I think it's nice to have hobbies like this when you have the mental capacity. I practice 2-3 bars of the music and I learn it repetitively. I spend 2-4 hours doing bullshit. I have broken it multiple times which I guess is normal, but it made me avoid using and that also caused the same thing. I'm planning to give it to someone, but my family doesn't want me to and they're not making sense. It's just gonna be a waste if I'm not going to use it.

She was one of the contestants I liked. She was very underrated in Girl's Planet and she wasn't really able to showcase her skills during that time, but she killed her performance in "We Are" during the combination mission. She has a charming vibe. Anyways, I'm rooting for her since she's back on another show and I feel like people are starting to know her.

Season 1, 2, and 3 was good. But the previous episodes of season 4 seems to be showing things that doesn't make any sense. It's like turning to something spiritual. What's with the sudden occurence of other things that aren't really relevant to the theme? We're getting clues, but we're not getting answers that the characters have been searching since the first season and I think they're delaying the important parts, so that they can use it for season 5. I don't want to be that person, but many shows nowadays keeps releasing many seasons too and I don't think it's because it's necessary for the storyline, but because they want to profit as much as possible. It's not a huge deal to me, but atleast execute it properly. What makes it worse is that it started to be like that when it got the hype. The whole 120 minutes feels like watching nothing. Anyways, the season is still ongoing and I've heard that before the other seasons, they've already planned how would it end and I'm getting a little hope that it won't be disappointing.

I personally know some people who posts about mental health, yet can never practice what they preach and can't understand the depths of it. Those are the very same people who would call their friends draining when they show symtoms of depression or they're the ones who can't be understanding. It's not your responsibility, but you should aleast not do something that opposes what you say. They switch up once they realize that it's hard to deal with people who have mental issues.

The very same generation who's "more aware of mental health" can easily be an ableist once they see that people with autism can misbehave over small things, you'll call them spoiled or a brat. If you can never show empathy to people who are suffering with disorders that they didn't choose to live with, then just stay silent and quit being performative. Actually, empathy isn't even needed if you use your logic, since it already explains why people with such disorders act like that. Alongside this, people with mental issues should receive efficient treatment for them to be a better version of themselves and take accountability when needed. Disabilities are hard to control, and I'm simply explaining why this happens. It's disgusting that many of us are such a hypocrites. Mental health only matters when it's your own.

Oh gosh. Some people here are unbelievable. Ikaw pa ido-downvote at aawayin kahit sila yung 'di makaintindi sa sinasabi mo. Wala akong pake kung ma-downvote ako pero I don't like being misunderstood and I think that I'm being downvoted because people don't understand what I say. I always elaborate on my statements, but I got told once that I was doing a word salad, which I found hilarious, and kahit ano pang simplify mo sa statement, hindi pa rin gets. I don't want to judge pero hindi ko lang ma-imagine na may mga tao palang ganoon umintindi. The bigger problem is they lack self-awareness. Don't get me started with how some people can't understand sarcasms kahit may context clues na. I realized that the reading comprehension crisis was a more serious problem than I thought it was.
