I’m not homeless yet, but the threat always looms what with staggering costs and stagnant wages. I have one friend. One “good” friend for 40 years and an ex spouse, my daughter’s mom with whom I still talk and help daily”. I asked the question, “if I’m homeless, can I stay there instead of on the street?” No and no. I’m like, “REALLY?!!!” You’d let me stay on the street before taking me in? I made it all the way through life and near the end, I have nobody. That’s the saddest shit ever. It’s mind bending because If I had the means, I’d take in everyone in a heartbeat without being asked. How can friends and family just turn a blind eye and be like, “oh well, it’s not me”? I don’t know if I’m more disappointed or sad. I’d literally do anything for anyone and I just learned I have nobody. Well, I guess I always kind of knew, but tried to ignore or lied to myself. 😢

Please disregard my unchangeable username—it was generated at random. I’m actually a very quiet, single, college-educated, 50-something male. I was wondering if there are any other lonely folks in my age group who are interested in meeting new friends. I enjoy music—listening and making, walks in the park, coffee—you know—50’s, GenX stuff.

Am I the only one who finds it strange that apps aren’t ever “done”. For example, I have Waze(and hundreds of others over the years), and there are constantly updates that say “bug fixes”. Why can’t the team just squash ALL the bugs and have an app that just works perfectly all the time and call it done? Like Big Screen Beta on Metaquest. It’s been in beta for 10 years. Why can’t an app ever be done? Finished? Perfected?

I agree that speeding is a problem in Allentown, but there has to be a better way than the crazy obnoxious speed bumps they put all over Parkway. They’re like reverse potholes. You can’t go slow enough. I have to stop for each one, 10’ apart x 3. And I still feel like they’re wrecking my car. @mattuerk @mayormatttuerk -please-for the love of god, do something!

I just realized that I wanted to know when sites are updated so I created an extension. Helpful! I don’t know why can’t post a picture here, but create an extension and say “when was this page updated”.

Does anyone else feel rage when their calm is suddenly wrecked by douchebags on purposefully loud motorcycles ? Like those Harleys that pierce through noise-cancelling pods and cans? Like the ones who also blare salsa music that is somehow louder than a rock concert ? It’s a nonstop parade of shit noise in West Allentown. Between the shit bikes and shit cars, nothing says, “I have a micro penis” more than seeing how much of an attention whore you can be by being as noisy as possible. Don’t even get me started on lane splitting and going 60 mph + in my 25 mph residential neighborhood. Where are the local police ?

Does anyone else notice charging time has increased on watchOS 27? The battery lasts one day now versus two days on iOS 26 and I’m surprised that instead of the usual charge time, it takes ~ three hours to get to full charge from 35 %. This used to take an hour-two at max.

I remember short video TV shows like Real People, That’s Incredible, candid camera, America’s funniest home videos. Then reels, YouTube, Tik, etc. made short videos online. Then TV shows started showing the short internet videos that are online, then the video apps online started showing TV show clips from TV shows showing short videos that are online. Where does this stop?
