I’m not a tattoo artist, just an artist who likes drawing in this style!
After I posted my Barton Springs salamander art, I had a few people ask for the Texas blind salamander!
I went swimming at Barton last weekend and was inspired to draw this Austin icon!
I haven’t drawn anything from the Inheritance Cycle in years and lately I’ve been feeling the itch to do so. Garzhvog is one of my favorite characters in the series, so I decided to start with him!
Featured species: Deinocheirus (Temperance), Megaloceros (Justice), and Pinta Island Tortoise “Lonesome George” (the Hermit)
I’m thinking about making my Greek god portraits into keychains. I’m trying to decide which ones I should first have printed. Which are your favorites?
Featured species: Quetzalcoatlus (Judgement), Parapuzosia seppenradensis and Dolichorhynchops (Wheel of Fortune), and Jaekelopterus (the Moon).

In the last episode of season 2, Louis and Armand confront Lestat in Magnus’ tower. During which, Lestat calls Armand “the gremlin”. This already hilarious insult is even more devastating when viewed within the historical context of the show being set immediately after WW2. The term “gremlin” was actually coined by RAF fighter pilots in the 20’s and 30’s, branching off of the more generic “goblin”. It started as an inside joke to explain why their planes would experience seemingly random technical and mechanical failures. The “gremlins” were tiny little men who purposely sabotaged machinery and created problems for the pilots. Outside of the RAF, the term was not well known until former airman Roald Dahl (yes, that Roald Dahl), wrote a children’s book that was later picked up by Disney in the mid 1940’s.
When Lestat is calling Armand a “gremlin” in 1949, he is using recently popularized slang that had a very specific connotation rather than the more generalize modern interpretation of “tiny chaotic critter”. Lestat is directly implying that Armand is a saboteur and problem maker who has been working behind the scenes to destroy lives.

There’s been a lot of buzz around Suchomimus’ name possibly being invalid and I all I could think about was this song.

I love art of herons catching snakes and eels, so I decided to do a paleoart version!
