Changing my name on my resume - which option is best?

Aussie born Indian with an ethnic first name and surname being Singh (gonna be so fr i'm sure a lot of ppl spamming job sites have this surname😭) so I'm absolutely cooked in this job market

Option 1) my nick name (which is anglo) and actual surname

Option 2) actual name and my mum's surname (which is a bit ambiguous)

Edit: would I have to change my linkedin and email too?

ABCDs who changed/shortened their surname (not first name) on their cv to help land a job?

Been applying to a ton of jobs with little luck and I'm sure my ethnic name doesn't help. Mind you I tailor my resume and cover letter and do all that jazz.

Even though my first name is not overly ethnic I have a very generic surname and I'm wondering whether employers assume I'm a fob from back home who spam applies for jobs in my country as soon as they see my surname (Singh 🫩😵‍💫)

I'm torn bc on one hand I don't want to change who I am but in this job market you gotta to do what you have to do.

Feeling stuck in life. How do you decide what the next step is?

F26, graduated in 2022 but fell out of love with what I studied so I stayed in my casual warehouse job (that I now hate) to figure out what I wanted. Been applying to jobs here and there with no success and feel so defeated. Being cabin crew for Emirates has been on my bucket list and I've already interviewed for it once and received an offer but I was unable to join as dates weren't aligning. It felt so close but so far. I don't want to romanticise the job but joining Emirates means I will also be able to move out of my chaotic/toxic household (I simply cannot afford moving out and renting in my current city). I'm just worried that if I do this for a few years I will come back to the same position - struggling to find an entry level job but at 28-29 and being jobless. I know coming back and being behind my peers would really hurt. I'm feeling so stuck in life. I'm worried this is career suicide. I have no one to talk to about this.

Priya doesn't get credit for how she stands up for herself time and time again

Yes sometimes she comes off as delulu but I think it's just her communication style. She's not as delulu as people think she is and if she was truly a "gameplayer" she would've faked it till the end and not called it off with Aidan.

Every time she's felt disrespected in a couple she's always stood up for herself whether or not anyone else has had her back which I think is really commendable bc it cannot be easy in that kind of setting (same goes for Julia). Don't start me on how her "friends" are not girls girls when it comes to her. Some of the guys have come after her as an easy target but she's never let them walk over her.

Kudos to her and I hope she knows that she's loved by a lot of the audience. Idk how, but she's become one of my favourite islanders this season.

ABCD women: Are ABCD men good lovers?

What have your romantic and sexual experiences been like with ABCD men? Were they affectionate, passionate, good in bed? 🫢

Context: I've been watching Love Island UK and seeing an ABCD man who's charming and sexually confident is nice for a change!

I feel like there are conversations/stereotypes about men from other cultures (e.g. the "latin lover") but never anything about desi men.

What kind of bra can I wear under this top?

Don't have much going on in that region but I also don't want to go braless as it would make me feel too exposed 🥲

Where should I start?

Anthony Bourdain intrigues me and I want to learn more about him and hopefully learn things about life during the process. There's so much content out there though so where should a completely newcomer start? Series/which episodes? Books?

Online dating as an ABCD

I feel like I'm gonna get hate for this but sifting through south asians on dating apps is so much work as an ABCD when most of the guys on there are fobs 😭😭😭 it's soooo tiring ugh I wish there was a way to add a filter where you can find people who grew up in the same country as you (no shade)
