I picked this up at the thrift store for $1.45

It plays perfectly.

Opinions wanted. Which CD player is better.

I bought these two CD players from a thrift store today, and both work great.

I got the Sony CDP-C160Z for $15.99 and the Technics SL-P120 for $6.49.

First I couldn't believe my eyes that these things were as cheap as they were and then was equally surprised that both worked great.

I just couldn't leave them there.

I love the 5 cd changer and the fact that I can pair a remote with the Sony, but the Technics just works great.

What is your opinion as to what is the better machine?

Panasonic PV-GS250

I hadn't thought about this thing in years until this subreddit came up in my feed. I purchased this back in 2005 before my daughter was born with the intention to get really decent video quality of her formative years.

The video quality of consumer level cameras was quite bad and I wanted something that would show colors well.

I believe the Sony's at the time were considered better, but Panasonic was a close second. I got the second from the top and was extremely happy with the video quality.

I checked a video one time but the video didn't record properly. I assumed the camera had gone bad and packed it away. thinking it was now defective.

Being recommended this subreddit caused me to pull it out of storage and on a whim I fired it up. I guess the tape was bad because this thing works great, so I'm super happy about that.

Slipknot's self titled debut album on vinyl

Hello Slipknot fans! I was hoping I could get some help here regarding the title. My daughters boyfriend has the self titled record, yellow vinyl. He has an entry level turntable (Pioneer PL-990) with entry level Edifier MR3 speakers. Nothing special, but something that is successfully playing his music collection.

He plays the record mentioned above and three is no volume. He can turn it down, but when he turns it up, the volume is quite low. This is the only record this happens to. The other records play just fine.

I told him to bring the record to me and I'll play it on my system. My system is much more powerful and we were able to play the record fine except yes, the volume was quite low. I can turn the volume up on my system where you can comfortably play the record and enjoy the music.

At this point I thought the record was fine that it must be the stylus on his turntable. That is until I put another record on and the volume was so loud that I had to immediately turn it down so as to not damage the speakers.

My question is, are there any known issues with this particular pressing of this album, and is there another pressing that he could get so he can properly enjoy his record?

PS: I had never listened to Slipknot before, but they are right up my alley in terms of music taste and from what I heard, they are quite good.

This is all that I have left of this boombox from Sears

I bought this either in 1980 or 1981. I went to the store looking for most likely a Panasonic, but saw that this had a feature where you could skip three songs at a time and couldn't pass it up. It was styled like the boxes from the 70's, and at the time that was a negative because all the new ones had what is now considered the classic 80's look.

It was a decent enough player. Not top of the line but serviceable. Of course boomboxes, or as we knew them back then to be ghetto blasters were really never meant to be top quality anyways. From the little research I've been able to do, this was most likely made by Sanyo. Again, not the best, but a decent budget brand.

I just added this to my album collection

I have most of The Beatles albums, but this is my first Paul album. I'm looking to get another one after this. Possibly Ram. Any suggestions on what should be next?

The new addition to my collection

I can't wait to put this on the turntable. Looking at the track list, Space Truckin' takes a whole side? Looks like they had a jam session. Great stuff! I see Child in Time too? I can't wait to hear them.

We added this to our collection

Amazingly, I'd never listened to this album before, and my daughter kept asking me to get it, so I did. I'd have to say it's an excellent album.

I'm thinking of getting something from Ozzy's solo career next.

My daughter and I picked this one up the other day

This was one of her grails. She had listened to the album in full on Spotify and really enjoyed it. We'd been looking for it for a while since, and wasn't disappointed when I got to hear it for the first time. Really solid entry by Blue Oyster Cult.

My latest addition from Uriah Heep

I picked this up today for $10.00. This is my third album from them. The first two being Magician's Birthday and Demons and Wizards. I loved those two so I was pretty certain I was going to like this. It did not disappoint.
