Charger to use in Japan

We are heading to Japan soon and planned to take my son’s Tonie box with him. I know the charger has the appropriate size prongs (no grounding prong) that the USA charger will fit into a Japanese socket, but I’m curious if the voltage is an issue. Anyone have any experience using their North American Toniebox charger in Japan? TIA.

Hauck travel stroller review?

Anyone have this travel stroller and able to share a review? I would love to see how it folds up and how compact it is, no pics in any of the photos online.

Alternatively - if anyone can recommend a good and reasonable priced travel stroller, we are taking our 9 month old to Japan in a few weeks and we have an umbrella stoller we were gifted brand new but we just opened it to try it out and it’s wayyyyy too flimsy and short for us to use so we are somewhat scrambling and don’t have a large budget for this as we only plan to travel this one trip and use our main stroller 99% of the time we are home.

Thanks in advance!!

Formula availability in Japan

Hello! We will be travelling to Japan soon and my son is EFF and has been on Enfamil Gentlease for appx. 5 months (we are Canadian) after originally starting on standard Enfamil at birth.
I have seen a lot of advice not to worry about packing too much formula and just purchasing in Japan once we arrive - but since he does have a somewhat “specialty” formulation, I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a brand that is similar in Japan? I don’t want to have to pack formula for 3 weeks but I will if I don’t feel confident that we have a suitable Japan alternative.

Thank you so much in advance!!!! ❤️

Sandra Boynton tonies?

Are there such a thing? My little one is obsessed with her books and so many of them have songs - they would be perfect Tonies.

[HOME] Insurance work not done well but no longer with that company

Appx 4 years ago we had a claim where our crawl space filled with (clean) water due to a plumbing issue. I’m talking a ridiculous amount of water - it took days to pump out. At the time we were with Aviva insurance, they came and provided the pump out service, replaced some electrical down in the crawlspace, replaced the furnace as it had been submerged, ran fans for several days etc. the crawlspace had a layer of thick plastic down over the ground prior to this claim happening.

After this claim happened, Aviva chose not to renew our policy (assuming since it was a claim very soon after us getting our home) so we had to switch companies. No claims since. However the crawlspace now reeks like ammonia every time it rains and gets a bit of moisture. We had some torrential storms the past week and it just got to a point where I’m sick of my house smelling like ammonia. I started researching and it seems like it could be mold/mildew in the plastic and overall crawlspace that was due to the water damage never drying out. We likely need to do some serious mold remediation.

Do we have anything we can explore here considering it’s been 4 years since the work was done (has been an issue for 4 years but we didn’t know what was causing it and it’s been very dry so didn’t happen often) and considering the policy is not even with them anymore?

Thanks in advance for reading and any advice.

What can I do?

I have had this beautiful plant for about 2 years now and have done very little to no maintenance with it as it’s been happy! All of a sudden a couple of the branches are starting to look almost shriveled up and are first getting drooping leaves then the leaves die and fall off all together. It only seems to be on one or two branches so far. It gets indirect light somewhat north east facing, and I water it once every week or two until I can see water come out into the tray at the bottom. There’s no pests visible to me. Soil has been whatever came from the nursery and just topped up occasionally with indoor potting mix.

Can I save the rest? Any recommendations super appreciated!

Local chef’s homicide

I realize this happened about a week ago but searched the sub and found no mention yet. I’m shocked and saddened to see this news. I hired Cam to cater several events for my work when we had executive meetings in Winnipeg.

From the news I’ve read it seems like people in Ste. Anne believe they know who killed Cam and are shocked no one has been arrested yet. Has there been much media coverage in Winnipeg?

My son is 21 weeks and honestly we have been doing pretty well with sleep overall. He doesn’t sleep much during the day, generally we get quick little 35 min naps, but they are enough for him and he goes to bed well at night and only wakes for feeds usually 2x a night. I still have him on 4 naps a day so 2 hour wake windows generally. I have been dreading the 4 month regression but it seems to not have happened yet (touch wood).
Fast forward to the last 2 nights, he has been dealing with some congestion and coughing from what we suspect is just a cold, no fever etc. His overnight sleep has been trash. Waking up constantly and tossing and turning. I chalked this up to him being sick and then my MIL commented today that since he doesn’t seem to have these issues during his naps that maybe this is him hitting the regression instead, and just happens to be when he is feeling a bit stuffed up and coughing.
What did the 4 month regression look like for your little one? Did it last long? Any tips for helping a sick guy through it? Thanks ❤️

Our son is just over 20 weeks and he has been exclusively formula fed since birth. He is a big guy, was about 17 lbs at his 4 month vaccination appointment. He has had some issues with reflux etc. that we now treat with Nexium daily and it’s allowed him to put on weight and just be so much happier.
But this week he has had a huge developmental leap, he has started to crawl (had already been sitting and rolling over for 3+ weeks). And with that, seems like he is going through a growth spurt. The past 3 days he has eaten 34, 38 and 40 ounces of formula.
I read online that anything more than 32 ounces a day may not be good for them (diarrhea - which he has had today) and may be a good indicator that it’s time to start solids. When I mentioned solids to our paediatrician a month ago he was pretty adamant that 6 months is the guideline, but our baby also wasn’t packing in 40 ounces a day at that point. I will absolutely be calling Dr. to discuss further but would love to hear your experience on starting solids like maybe rice cereals etc. before 6 months?
