If your anemia is not getting better, it might be this..
So back when I was 13 I started having stomach issues out of nowhere went to the Dr and he just gave me something for my symptoms after a year or two was diagnosed with anemia so bad that my hb reached 6.4 after that life just was me getting iron transfusions and the anemia coming back after 2 3 months. With the anemia I also had calcium and suspected vitb12 deficiency. Went to multiple doctors for 10 years until one day I decided it's enough and researched for what could be the reason behind my recurring anemia. Got tested for every single cause and at the end got tired and went to a gi doctor. By that time my body has physically been so weak that I lost weight despite having a protein diet I lost like 4kgs,i had recurring infections with no cause, my veins would disappear and Dr's would have to find my veins to insert the canola in and during my infusion my vein would bruise up pretty bad. I went to the gi doctor and he suggested I get a endoscopy, results came back positive I had celiac marsh level 2 disease. I asked my doctor why didnt the antibody for celiac came back positive in my blood test and he said its because some people still have the celiac disease despite negative blood tests. 8 months and I don't have anemia anymore.
If you have recurring anemia and have gi issues it's worth getting tested and keep doing your research please.
