Limited time donuts

It's like Krispy Kreme and Tim Hortons have allied to attack me through nostalgia-based donuts.

Tims has Harry Potter-themed donuts, and I really, really, really want to try each of the four (Im less concerned about the caramel-filles snitch timbits. I had one, it was small, and ultimately not of consequence). I figured maybe I'll do oke donut every 1 to 2 weeks, it'll be my cheat thing.

Then Krispy Kreme came out with Pokemon donuts.

Seriously??!!

And prior to the HP donuts, I'd been telling myself I'll be good and work toward one of Krispy Kremes fall donuts as a cheat treat.

Guys I have massive FOMO. That is all.

Wailing women in Indian TV shows/serials

This is probably the stupidest thing anyone's ranted about, but I am so irritated by it right now, and I wanted to make a post about it.

I live with family, and a few of them watch Tamil TV shows from the south of India. I feel like 75% to 90% of these shows is just women crying - women sobbing, wailing, screaming crying, crying and pleading while something terribly tragic but also very stupid is happening to them, etc. Like the camera will focus on a woman crying for a full minute, and then there's some dialogue and then another long stretch of a woman crying.

JFC!!

I almost feel like it's fetishized??? I know the most logical reason is to evoke sympathy from the audience, but good God, there's a limit.

Not to mention how utterly $&#^ing ridiculous most of the plots are. It's the sheer amount of idiocy coupled with all. The. Crying. Noises.

I usually wear headphones but can't 100% of the time, and anytime I overhear the TV, it makes my skin crawl. Idk if it's just the sheer amount of TV my family watches or I'm just overstimulated (the likely case; an injury is keeping me at home), but I feel lke the next sound of a woman crying might make me want to ... idk. Probably just change the Wifi password and force a timeout.

Car caused another item to hit my car - unsure if any action is needed?

I was on a phone call in my vehicle, parked in a Canadian Tire parking lot.

Can Tire has rolling metal shelves they display flowers on. Someone rolled on of those to their cars (parked near mine), loaded the flowers and then drove off, leaving the shelves in the pathway. Very obnoxious, but there's room for other cars to go around the shelves.

Later on, another car comes by, slams into the shelf, sending it into the front of my vehicle. I didnt have time to react, didnt get the cars license plate or anything. (It didnt slow down in the slightest)

It seems I cant attach a picture; the damage consists of like 2 or 3 breaks in the bumper, about 1 to 2 inches each. I'm not a car person so unsure if this is just cosmetic? Do I take any other steps, or just do nothing?

What are these blue lines for?

These lines appeared on the curb infront of each house on my street. No one seems to know what they're for. Does anyone know?

Wait Times at Markham Stouffville Hospital

What's going on with this hospital's ER's wait times? Not a criticism of the staff, bc I've only ever had pleasant experiences with them. It's literally the wait time. (I get that this is impacted by triage. Even taking this into account, i keep hearing anecdotes that other hospitals are much faster. I also recognize that I shouldn't base beliefs on anecdotes. It's just that I've heard enough to wonder). I also feel lke this wasnt an issue prepandemic.

Im the default person who accompanies family members to the ER when it's needed so I've been to MSH a few times.

Yesterday I got badly hurt in Scarborough. My family brought me to Centenary because it was much closer than Stouffville and assured me it's a good hospital. Less than 3 hours in the ER.

I later went to Stouffville bc I felt the pain meds weren't working, I got up in the middle of the night in extreme pain. We got to Stouffville just before 4am. Saw the doctor at 6:45am, and ended up leaving around 11am.

How to achieve things more easily?

This post might come off non-sensical and ranty. Hopefully it makes enough sense.

I'm tired of constantly fighting and exerting all my effort for little to no rewards in all areas of my life.

Health - Ive always been overweight (size 14 to 16). Ive never lost enough to be not-fat. Now Im struggling with other health issues (diabetes and an injury)

Romance - I'm demisexual and not very pretty. Not ugly, but also not pretty. With so many men out there, why why why is it hard for me to find someone with the basics (has a career, shares my sense of humour and values). I'm 37 and I've never been in love or been in a relationship.

Career - hah. Since I've always been the fat, single girl, I figured I'd focus on work. Hard work pays off, right?! ... no... I learned in my mid-30s, way too late, that hard work doesn't get you ahead. Now I feel far behind friends and family (and, please for Gods sake, don't tell me not to compare. It's so unhelpful when those around you are living different lives due to bigger/more flexible budgets, etc.) Every promotion I received, I fought like hell for.

The thing is ... I'm not lazy... For romance and career, I've put in the effort. Ive tried manifesting/law of attraction. Ive improved my interpersonal skills tremendously over the past several years, I've learned how to flirt, I've been seeing a therapist, trying to dress/do my makeup better. ... all with barely any success (the only success I've had is having like 3 dates with men instead of 1).

Health ... I keep trying and failing. This will be my fight for the rest of my life. And please no one comment that I should lose weight to improve my romantic life. Women much bigger than me have found wonderful men.

I guess I'm just asking for advice. Why is everything so difficult? I'm not saying I don't want to work; I'm saying I'm tired of not getting results. I feel like I'm stuck in mud with my wheels spinning, and if I get out and exert all my energy into getting traction, I get it and then get stuck again a couple meters later.

TLDR - I keep trying to improve my life and get very little rewards. I just wish things were easier, I wish things (health recovery, a better job, romance) came to me. How do I make things easier?

It's 10:02pm on a Monday. You've missed your Go Train by 2 minutes.

The next one is at 11pm.

(I will survive this calamity bc Im taking the Lakeshore East train instead to at least get close to my area. My sister will be taking an hour out of her night to come get me and take me to the Stouffville line station where I parked.)

Hey Markham! I wasn't sure where to post this, hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

A family member was unexpectedly admitted to Markham Stouffville Hospital for a week. She had an operation done, and the doctor recommended an additional week of recovery. (Note: She'll need a follow up surgery as well in a few weeks.)

We have documentation with her prescriptions, the type of operation she received, and a doctor's note recommending a week off.

She works full time, and the insurance company requested that she get a doctor to fill out a form that reiterates everything in the docs that have already been given to us.

My question is ... How do we get this form filled out? We called Markham Stouffville and they recommended speaking to a family doctor (she doesnt have one) or going back to emergency where she was first admitted. I can't imagine that an ER doc will have time to fill out this form??

This is such a weird situation, just unsure how to proceed and wondering if anyone here has advice.

Has anyone else had this?? My sister had her ERCP done at like 12:30pm yesterday, it's now 10:30pm the next day.

She's still in the hospital, which makes me feel a bit better but I'm worried. When the pain meds wear off, she has intense back muscle spasms and stomach cramps.

She has not been diagnosed with pancreatitis (Im assuming they checked for it this morning when they did her bloodwork?).
