C-Curl is painful

Anyone else finding the C-curl hard to maintain?? My body is rejecting it more and more, I’m getting cramps and elbow pains 😭 my LO is about 6 wks, and sometimes she ends up being a little spoon with me because she loves side sleeping but otherwise we use the C-curl. It’s just been hard to maintain physically. Any advice on making it easier??

FMLA and staying busy during the school year

I just had my baby at the end of May and luckily I get to take the max amount FMLA to stay home with her. While I’m super excited, I’m also really having a hard time coping with the idea of not going back to work. I’m so particular about my classroom and teaching that I’m going to drive myself insane once the year starts.

Anyone have any advice for staying busy while I’m out but also maybe bringing in some small income?? I definitely want it to be teaching related just not sure what’s out there for a temporary SAHM!!

EBF one side, EBP the other side

Title says it- anyone EBF from one side and EBP from the other?
My LO highly prefers my left and that’s my best producer too. My right seems to empty fast and fill slow. Highly debating just pumping from my right and BF from the left

Idk how I did it with my 1st

I’m just sitting here wondering how exactly I managed to breastfeed for a year and a half with my first one… when I was 17. Yet at 28 I’m struggling with it 😭 my LO struggling to latch, my supply being only a few extra feed away from turning into an oversupply again. Like, how in the world did I figure this out at 17 but am losing my mind at 28!! Doesn’t help that my 1st was full term and my 2nd is a late term preemie but still!!

Eufy Wearables and amount

Okay, I officially am starting to hate my wearables. I got them because I will have to pump at work eventually (teacher) aaaaaand I cannot seem to figure out how to get them to really work for me. I got them to work well ONCE but only one breast seems to work. Idk if it’s my breast shape & size or what but I try pumping on my left and I get next to nothing, I struggle to get my nipple in. And just end up using my hand pump. Any tips?? Advice??

Nursing vs Pumping

I’m struggling to decide whether to stick to nursing full time, pumping full time or a combination of both.

My LO has issues latching unless we’re side lying which is hard when you’re out and about. Easy at night. But then idk if I want to pump during the day, because I can’t keep a consistent supply yet. I’m already feeling like I’m getting a clog or something- it hurts in my left breast. Which is another issue- I have an oversupply in one breast (L) and an under in the other. Also have a strong let down.
Just feeling so lost.

EBF vs Pump & Bottle at 2 week

I’ve posted a couple times about my LO and having feeding issues. But my LO has had latch/nursing issues from the get go. I’m assuming it’s because she was a late term preemie and tiny, and well, I’m not exactly small in the chest. I also have oversupply issues.
I had been struggling with her trying to comfort nurse and we ended up getting a MAM paci for her. She loves it, usually gave it to her after she nurses and it was fine.
Well now I think it was my downfall because the past 2-3 days she’s been struggling to latch, except for oddly at night when side-lying. But. Today, she was screaming so bad and it was time to eat, I was engorged and I just hand pumped a little. She wouldn’t stop so I threw the fresh milk in a bottle and BOOM. She took it immediately. So now I’m feeling like bottle feeding is better than EBF because she’s not struggling. I feel like a failure but also relieved slightly.

My cravings now are worse than when I was pregnant

My LO is about to be 2 weeks tomorrow, and she was a late term preemie. I EBF my first but that was 11 years ago. And I’m just now noticing my cravings and appetite are 10x more intense now than when I was pregnant. I can give an exact description of what I’m craving and when I was pregnant I never could.

Anyone else have the same experience??

Late term preemie and feeding

I had my daughter at 35wks & 3d- I know her stomach is much much smaller than a full term. She is having normal diapers (every 2-3hrs) but only latches for maybe 5-15min. I have an oversupply (like I’m leaking 2-3oz) so I’m not worried about losing supply. But I am worried she maybe isn’t eating enough just given the short times.

What’s considered “normal” time and amount for a preemie??

Did an Irish Goodbye, started my FMLA early

I’m about to be 35 weeks tomorrow and found out I’m having contractions & dilated slightly. So I made the decision to start my FMLA with 2.5 days left. Originally I had planned to stay till the end but my husband and family and I all agreed it was best I stay home and rest.

I didn’t even bother telling my students 😅 I made them clean, I put away my valuables, left sub instructions. And pretty much pulled an Irish goodbye!! This year was awful overall so I feel zero guilt leaving early. I’m still attending graduation (in a wheelchair lol) and seeing the seniors but otherwise… 👋✌️

Happy early summer to me! I’ll see them all in October 🤣

Why is it so frowned upon when you hold IEP students accountable?

My campus seems to love to enable lazy IEP kids. There’s always an excuse as to why they can’t or don’t need to do things. So of course, when I hold mine accountable and hold them to the same expectations are my regular students, I’m the jerk.

No one seems to like the idea of actually using an IEP the right way- which is to help them meet the expectations set by the teachers and campus, not lower them. Lowering expectations just hurts them in the long run. But sure let’s just let them be lazy and require zero effort….

Edit: I am not saying all IEP kids are lazy, but my campus likes to enable those who use their IEPs to be lazy and as a “get out of jail” card for consequences both academically and behaviorally speaking. I damn well know how capable they can be and that’s why I hold them to certain expectations and push them to succeed.

Need this year to be over

I’m 33wks+ pregnant & in near constant pain, teaching ALL freshmen, our AC isn’t working well in the building and I’m on the 2nd floor. We’re done May 27th but I am SO READY TO BE DONE. I got upset with my first class of the day already because they wouldn’t take my lesson seriously and it was so easy too. I told them directly I hope they respect their teachers more next year because they’ve made this year miserable. That’s where I’m at.

Please send words of encouragement 🥲

My admin signed my TTESS Summative with an active grievance against her

My original post about this admin, but now the issue is just getting worse. I had to take today off because of a medical procedure, and my admin, who has the ACTIVE grievance against her, ignored my emails about it. And then went ahead and signed my summative for me. So I’m filing another grievance more than likely. And I’m including how she’s only been emailing outside work hours basically about it, not following through on communicating timelines, waiting till the LAST minute to do any of this. I really hope she doesn’t return next year. I know she can’t be my evaluator next year but it’s like her end goal to screw over teachers as there’s been 3 so far she’s gotten rid of. I hate it. Summer needs to come sooner
