Pumping Schedule
Hey y’all! I go back to work in like 3 weeks, as of now my LO has almost exclusively nursed, and only gotten a bottle as needed. Given this… I am struggling HARD to figure out a pumping schedule for when I return to work. Im a teacher so I can’t just pump whenever, I have to get coverage if it’s during classes. I try tracking her sessions and when she roughly eats but she changes almost daily… so any suggestions??
A sensation I was NOT prepared for
I had the absolute WEIRDEST sensation last night and I am not sure if it’s because I was half asleep imagining it or what but it makes my skin crawl a bit thinking about it 😭
I went to nurse my LO on my left (I only nurse 1 side) and it was semi-engorged and when she went to nurse it literally felt like the inside of my boob need to unfold or was trying to unfold itself. Like I wanted to untuck it or move it and it was just straight up uncomfortable. My boob still sorta feels this way but also feels like it’s “disconnected.” Like what the actual hell. I can’t even really begin to further explain the sensation. It’s never happened before either
My rabbit is household bully
Dude bullies my dogs when he roams. 6.5lbs bullying 36lbs corgis man. And a 12lb chihuahua mix. Like he ACTIVELY chases the mix 😭 he’s cute but damn he a jerk (and YEP he’s fixed)
He’s quiet… too quiet
I need a dang bell or radar or air tag on him😭 I can’t hear him at all and sometimes lose track of him. We just don’t want his furry butt getting stuck somewhere somehow 🥲
(Edit for bunny safety)
Baby carrier suggestions?
Any recommendations on baby carriers for someone with a shorter torso?? I’ve tried a wrap, sling, hip and then the infantino one. Everything sits funny or it takes me forever to get my baby in and i end up giving up. Need something with good support that’s relatively easier to use!
Bunnies & Other Pets- Weird question
Okay so got this dude just over a week ago from another home- there were cats & dogs I think living there. I don’t know the full picture of what his life has been like. But living with us we have 3 dogs- 1 tiny one and 2 corgis. They’ve all met- sniffed, through the gate. He’s gotten free roam time without them around. He gives no f’s about the dogs, will even lay “next to” them with a dog on one side and him in his home base.
I have a REALLY weird question though: When he greets our smallest dog (like 10lbs soaking wet), he like heckles her!!! He’ll circle her, sniff her butt, try and get on her even. She’s of course like “idk what to do” and will freeze. Is this normal?? What is he doing?? I know rabbits are prey animals but he does NOT act like he’s even remotely scared of my 3 stooges.
Happy little dude, I love him
Just ordered this guy a bigger play pen, litter box and more goodies! I can’t wait to see it up. He’s so sweet and curious, definitely loving being a new bunny mom
Husband blaming me for LO’s stomach problems
My LO is almost 9 weeks and has been having issues with forceful and excessive spit up. We’re currently trying meds to treat GERD and we did well for about a week before it came back. She’s had ultrasounds and stuff and it’s not pyloric stenosis. Shes gaining weight slowly but surely (10lbs in her 2mo visit, she was a late term premie)
Thing is my husband keeps blaming my breasts for her issues. Like my heavy let down is why she throws up and keeps saying in the problem. But then last night out of the blue he goes- “Has she tried formula? Let’s give her formula” EXCUSE ME SIR??? I would rather restructure my entire diet, quit coffee and caffeine before letting her try formula.
I’m still really upset he said this, and I know where he’s coming from but the constant blaming me for her problems and then this just hurt.
Edit: No I’m not shaming formula, I’m more venting that my husband tries to blame me for issues instead of maybe thinking she’s got a tummy issue we haven’t found yet. Our pediatrician hasn’t even suggested formula or that it’s in anyway an issue I’m breastfeeding her. She can take a bottle of pumped milk and still forcefully pukes and I do let my letdown run without her latched if I’m too full.
A 2mo old forcefully puking constantly isn’t a BF issue- it’s a medical issue.
New Bun- is this a good sign??
We just got this guy a couple days ago and are still learning bunny body language. Is this a good sign??
Meet Turnip
I posted yesterday about becoming a new bunny owner suddenly. This is Turnip! As you can see… we still have a bit of a learning curve with them 😅 (we are referring to it as “they/them” because we don’t know the sex yet lol) We are still getting stuff for Turnip, but it seems the previous owner had trained it to pee on pad so that’s a plus. We let them roam supervised for a bit, no potty accidents thankfully!
ESB: Emotional Support boob
Anyone else’s LO just wanna lay next to the boob? Not latch or anything but wants it out next to them?? 😅 Mine gets PISSED and acts like she wants to latch, refuses, takes her paci… but the second I go to put my boob away she senses it and gets pissed. She apparently needs her ESB and paci to go to chill out
Suddenly a new bunny owner
Hi y’all, I’m new to this sub. I am now a very sudden owner of a very cute bunny. And I need ALL the advice possible on owning a bun. Right now the crate is temporary. I need advice on where I can keep him/her (going to the vet to get them checked this week) and food. All that. Thank you
Breastfeeding from 1 boob only
Weird question. Is it possible to solely breastfeed from one breast if that breast is a pretty good producer??? (I can pump 4-6oz in one go)
Food recommendations
Any food recommendations for weight loss/management?? They’re currently eating Diamond Naturals!
Slim wearables
Are there any slimmer wearable pumps out there? I’ve got the eufy pro whatevers (heating ones) and they’re just too damn big and I’m already a DD. I’m going back to work in September and want to find some better pumps that won’t stretch out my bras or shirts as badly.
I have a love-hate relationship with maternity leave
My little girl just turned 7 weeks, and I’m a teacher so I’ve been on summer break the whole time since I’ve had her basically. Thing is I’m still taking maternity leave until mid-October. But the closer we get to the school year starting the more I want to go back.
Everyone’s saying “enjoy your baby” but I am SO mentally bored and anxious. I miss my job as bizarre as it sounds! 😭 Tell me I’m not the only one who’s experiencing/experienced this!
LO’s interest and feedings dropped
My LO’s interest in nursing overall has seemed to drop. She just turned 6 weeks Monday and I know they go through a transition around that time but I’m like worried it’s a physical issue as there’s a few things that have happened:
- She’s got a mild tongue tie that I noted at the hospital and was dismissed.
- She’s got an umbilical hernia that’s gotten bigger
- Constant spit up and some projectile vomiting leading to us getting an ultrasound tomorrow of her stomach
She’ll latch for MAYBE 5 min during the day and maybe 5-10 in the evening. She’s having heavy wet & poop diapers in the early AM but hardly at all during the day. Poor thing SCREAMS when she’s set down or isn’t moving. I’m having to pump more and more because she won’t eat. She had gained 2.5lbs when we saw her doctor last week. Worrying it’s going downhill now
Clothes & PP Tummy Control
I’m 6 wks PP after having my 2nd! Found out that my work place won’t be allowing jeans all the time anymore (booo). I’ve got a bunch of stuff from before but I’ve got some pretty saggy skin now 😭 what kind of comfy, breathable PP underwear and clothes are we wearing now??? Most of my stuff is high waisted since that’s what seems to be the trend though I am getting some mid-rise
My Photogenic Babies
We’ve had a lot of family photos taken recently, and I just love how my babies turn out in all of them!!
