Tungsten rings before you buy

Pro Tip: Most of the tungsten rings out there are manufactured by small number of Chinese manufactures, this is because 83% of the world's tungsten comes from mines in China. They own the market. And as a raw material tungsten is dirt cheap. Most if not all of the tungsten rings you'll see across the internet and at jewelry stores are bought wholesale from China for $10 - $15 per ring and resold for $100 -$400.

If you don't believe me be sure to check Temu and AliExpress before you buy. This is where I found the three tungsten rings I was considering purchasing, for a fraction of the cost. Exact same rings.

If your jeweler or online seller says 'we design our own tungsten rings' that most likely means they selected between a couple of different options the Chinese manufacture offered such as a different color/material for the inside of the band, or selecting different inlay materials or selecting different finishes.

Please correct me if I've got any of my facts wrong. I'm not a tungsten hater. Just sharing what I've learned about the industry.

I've got my three tungsten rings on order, anxious for them to arrive and see them up-close.

Outdoor wedding location? small quick ceremony

Looking for a simple outdoor location for a quick civil wedding ceremony in Lake Charles. Not more than 10 people in attendance. No food, no drinks, no DJ, no gifts, and I can bring enough folding chairs for our 8-10 guests. We are both older and have been married before so that's why we're not making a big deal out of this. After a quick ceremony we'll be heading to local restaurant for dinner.

Do y'all have any suggestions for a simple outdoor location? I'm thinking we could do a quick ceremony at Prien Lake Park. But I don't know this area very well that's why I'm here. Would love to hear some other suggestions. Get creative! thanks y'all

Xfinity website is not usable, utter garbage

I cancelled my Xfinity Mobile few months ago. I've tried many times over past 3 months to pay my final bill but I am not able to successfully login and pay the damn bill. Every time I've tried to log in to Xfinity website I either can't log in or while going through the checkout process the website fires an error and I can't checkout. I'm an internet professional so I can guarantee you there is no problem with my internet connection and no problem with my devices.

I tried again today. I was able to log in but after logging in none of the account links are working. My browser just spins and spins and nothing loads. No problems with any other websites, at all. Same bad experience on my phone and on my desktop. So ridiculous.

Can someone from Xfinity Support explain why the Xfinity website consistently doesn't work as expected, and explain to me other options for paying my final bill? And maybe offer me a coupon or gift card or SOMETHING for all the inconvenience I've had to endure.

Thanks

Handyman recommendations?

Having trouble finding handyman that is able to answer their phone, or at least call me back.

Couple things needed:

  1. Two attic spaces (attics are walkable, tall): Need some kind of roof vents installed. Currently no venting up there.
  2. Interior wall: Need a door and two windows removed from the interior wall. Frame up the holes in the wall, throw in some insulation and then drywall the holes on both sides of the wall. No painting. Will be painted later.

Must have proof of insurance. Feel free to DM me.

Thanks!

Switched from Xfinity Mobile - quick review after day one

Long time Xfinity Mobile customer but recently relocated and cancelled my Xfinity internet service, so Xfinity raised my monthly mobile by $25 because I was no longer bundling services. My new monthly wireless was $75 with Xfinity. Too much.

So last night I switched to a Visible prepaid plan. My first prepaid plan. $30/month unlimited data/calling/text, always on high speed download, no throttling. Sounds like a dream come true lol. My device is an unlocked Pixel 8a. To move a current number you typically need a transfer PIN which you have to obtain from your current carrier. Getting my transfer PIN from Xfinity was of course the hardest part. It's buried on the Xfinity website. After I got the PIN I switched and activated 100% online using my laptop and Visible app on my phone. Set-up process and the Visible eSim worked just fine, no customer service was needed. Pro tip: After you successfully activate on Visible using their eSim, be sure to remove any physical SIM cards you may still have in your phone. You will no longer need the physical SIM card from previous carrier.

Results: Download speeds at my house using Visible LTE are the same from when I was on Xfinity Mobile. Approximately 200Mbps download and roughly 10Mbps upload. This makes sense because both Xfinity and Visible operate on the Verizon network.

The only con: Visible is apparently set to constantly and automatically switch your phone from LTE to 5G and back to LTE, etc.. depending on a variety of factors. I did not see this mentioned in any material from Visible but I did see where other users have complained about this feature as well. After activating with Visible, I discovered there was no setting under my normal Android settings to turn on/off 5G. That was a surprise. Personally, I don't like to use 5G because it uses more battery so I found a work around that forces (Android) phones to always stay on LTE. The work-around was easy it requires putting a code into the dialer and then changing one setting. Super easy. This will allow your phone to lock to LTE only. Essentially turning off 5G.

After one day with Visible I'm very happy, even though I had to find a work around to turn off 5G. My download speeds are exactly as expected and the price can't be beat. Win win so far.

I'll try to post another update in few days. If you're considering switching, feel free to hit me up with any questions.

Disclaimer: I do not work for Visible/Verizon/Xfinity nor am I associated with these companies in anyway. Just my honest feedback.

Update: I didn't know 5G-SA was a thing. Apparently SA may be as energy efficient as LTE or perhaps even a little better. I'm checking it out.

Pro Series 1100 smoker/grill combo

This model is sold out everywhere. Although it may be a Lowes exclusive. Does anyone know if we can expect to see more of the 1100 Pro Series combo unit sometime soon?

How can nvdia shield be considered top streaming device if you can't even stream YouTube content using a web browser? I was close to purchasing Shield but lack of web browser is giving me pause.
