Would the city of Houston support a 2nd Men’s Pro Soccer Team? But not a MLS team, either a Mexican Soccer League team or USL Premiership team?

Instead of it being in the MLS, this Houston team is either in the new USL Premier/Division One League (which plan to start in 2028 or 2029) or Mexico’s Liga MX

Here’s the Link for more info on the new United Soccer League’s Division 1 Premiership to compete against the MLS just like for example, the AFL vs. NFL in the 1960s and the ABA vs. NBA in the 1970s.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USL\_Premier

Either that or maybe having a Houston team in the Mexican Soccer League as the League’s only American/non-Mexican team will be like Toronto Raptors in the NBA and Toronto Blue Jays in the MLB

This could also benefit and somewhat help/improve the Dynamo to be more motivated, competitive, and relevant in the city. Much like when the Roughnecks in the XFL from seven years ago during the Texans’ era with Bill O’Brien and DeShaun Watson. That was a huge wake up call for the McNair ownership and organization and now the Texans went from a bad team to a playoff contender in a few years.

Hot take or unpopular opinion - Canada and Mexico women’s national teams have a better chance to win their first World Cup before the Canada and Mexico men’s national teams winning their first World Cup.

See, that’s how to defeat Qatar.

2026 World Cup group stage: Canada 🇨🇦 6-0 🇶🇦 Qatar

2023 Gold Cup group stage: Mexico 🇲🇽 0-1 🇶🇦 Qatar

LOL Charlotte. You’re not even the best city/town in your own state of North Carolina.

Raleigh has now won 2 titles and did it before the Carolina Panthers (0-2 in Super Bowl) and Charlotte Hornets (0 NBA titles)

Also, add the N.C. State Wolfpack’s 1983 NCAA Basketball Championship to make it 3 Major Sports championships.

It’s going to be CONCACAF vs. AFC in the 2nd matchday of group stages

The next games for USA, Mexico, and Canada are all against teams from the same confederation.

USA vs. Australia |
Mexico vs. South Korea |

"Houston, let's get ready to show World Cup visitors the best of America"

The Houston Chronicle editorial board published a piece celebrating the city hosting World Cup games and calling on Houstonians to get involved. Here's a key quote:

>Here, the “beautiful game” belongs to the people. It’s alive in South Korean newcomers playing amateur soccer against Vietnamese opponents at Cullen Park, Afghan 5-year-olds kicking a ball in Gulfton and Alief’s multilingual high schoolers vying for top titles. From Houston to Katy to The Woodlands, immigrants from all cultures and walks of life have brought this sport to life — and life to our city.

>When Houston was picked as host city, bid committee president Chris Canetti’s heart rate shot up to 130 on his Apple Watch. It was the collective heartbeat of a place ready to live and breathe the World Cup in our own backyard.

>The reality of hosting, admittedly, has been rocky.

>Just this week, a referee who would have been Somalia’s first at a World Cup was detained and questioned for 11 hours at a Miami airport before being sent home. And FIFA’s shamelessly high ticket prices — with the final costing as much as three years of tuition at University of Houston — have prompted investigations by states attorneys general, including our very own Ken Paxton. Sticker shock combined with inflation, visa delays and aggressive immigration enforcement have kept many global fans away, leaving some local hotels emptier than expected.

>It hasn’t been much easier for Houstonians. If you’re bracing for the traffic gridlock, rolling your eyes at the FIFA politics or feeling priced out, you aren’t wrong. But don’t let the corporate and political noise rob you of what this month is actually about.

>Though we boast the cheapest possible ticket to a match —  some seats Cabo Verde vs. Saudi Arabia are on sale for under $200 — you don’t need to be inside NRG (sorry, we mean Houston Stadium) to be a part of this history. In fact, Houston is throwing a massive, four-block FIFA Fan Fest watch party in East Downtown that is completely free and open to the public for the entire 34-day tournament run.

Anybody expecting new ads/commercials and movie trailers to be shown during The United Bowl.

I’m guessing some new stuff from No Bull merchandise, Junkless candy bars, Huggies fighters’ diapers, New Era apparel, Adidas and others etc.

If the NASL were to allow their teams to participate, Would any club from this League win the CONCACAF Champions Cup in the 1970s and 1980s? How many trophies the NASL would’ve won during that era 1968-1984?
