Saw a Laramie SST by my house today and was stricken 🤩
so of course i asked siri to tell me what she knew about it. The straight 6 sounded impressive until I saw it was a 3.0 and not the legendery Jeep XJ’s 4.0 they put a turbo on. Does anyone have any success stories or never-again warnings i should know about before i try to find this thing in my spec? Tia.

Random inconsistent misfire that only shows up when I’m going about 45 and maintaining 1500-2000 rpm on a gradual incline. Will miss and you feel like it tapped the brakes for you for a microsecond. Runs smoothly otherwise. Has anyone been able to figure this out, or do I just have to wait for a coil to completely go bad? (Side note: I had this kind of random misfire but cause a lot more bucking in a 98 Jeep Cherokee that ended up being a rubbed wire against the fuel rail under the hood)

I’m curious to know this now that my inquisitive mind has pondered the idea. Would a garage that does oil changes be potentially willing to sell oil from their bulk barrel in a chosen weight by the quart? Say they have their measuring method and I ask for 5 qts and bring a 5qt oil jug to put it in? Technically cheaper to them because of bulk volume buying, but would I possibly save money in such an agreement vs grabbing 7 qts off the shelf of the local Walmart?

Has anyone had an issue with their trans going into limp mode “restricted performance/transmission fault” and the CEL code points to a PRNDL issue? What did you do to fix it/what did you have to get replaced? Mine thinks it’s in reverse and the lights stay on as if it is in reverse. (Mine is an 03 S type)
