3.5 year old won’t eat abroad

I’m traveling abroad in Germany for a family funeral and my 3.5 year old just won’t eat. I offer her all the things we have at home (she’s semi-picky) and make Mac and cheese we brought and she’s just not interested. I know the jet lag is hard with eating but any suggestions or tricks from others who have experienced something similar? We are on day 6 of our trip.

Cold brew coffee

Going to Germany tomorrow for a funeral. I’m searching for cold brew coffee without any sugar. Just coffee that’s been brewed for over 24 hours in cold water. Cold brew typically has higher caffeine content because of that. All I can ever find has tons of sugar and milk in it. Do I have to just make my own? I’d prefer to buy it in a jug at the grocery store.

Advice - Visiting Grandma’s house for her funeral TW: death

My MIL passed away kind of suddenly - stem cell transplant that failed. Our daughter 3.5 YO has been to her (and grandpa’s) house just a few times - they live in Europe. But we’ve always talked about them and FaceTimed often. We are going back to Europe for the funeral in a few weeks and I need help explaining to her that grandma has died and she won’t be there. I imagine I will I have to keep reminding her. It helps that she knows that she was sick the past month. Any anecdotal advice is welcome!

May we contact your previous manager for a reference?

I was laid off from my last company and my previous manager is the CEO. While I was there, after every person exited (willingly or unwillingly), I listened to her bad mouth every employee no matter their performance. She led a toxic environment and gaslit everyone. Needless to say, I highly doubt she has anything nice to say about me just based on what I’ve heard her say about others. Today I was caught off guard in an interview when the lady asked me if they may contact her for a reference. I didn’t want to say no outright but I also didn’t want to say yes enthusiastically. So I awkwardly smirked and kind of rolled my eyes and said sure. I know this wasn’t the best response so I want to be better prepared for next time. What would you do? To be clear, I never offered her up as a reference to begin with.

Post-surgery arthritis improvement?

I have an autoimmune disease that is, at an elementary level, arthritis of the spine. I’m wondering if having surgery would decrease weight and inflammation and thereby provide some relief from arthritis symptoms? Does anyone have any anecdotes from this?

Activity Date Idea

Looking for a date idea for this Friday night that has some sort of activity. I want to reconnect with my husband beyond just dinner and a movie - something that we can work together and do something to spark new convos.

Fireplace Dilemma

First off - the TV pulls down on hydraulics for viewing. It lives up there when not in use.

I limewashed our fireplace because it was too rustic-looking for our taste. But I’m not sure I like it. It also kind of looks like the fireplace is floating now because it blends in more. I’m thinking of painting the mantle and then painting the fireplace wall bump-out a darker color. What would you do? Keep the limewash and paint the back or find a new solution to the stone?

How long?

Royally messed up my hands. I used the blending lotion and removed it afterwards but somehow something went wrong. How long until they look somewhat normal?

I keep finding all the dedicated clinics and decorated surgeons overseas. In Germany alone, they have Lipocura franchised like a good bakery. I don’t understand, this is such a prominent problem that requires specialized surgeons, how has nobody figured out they will make a crap ton of money off of opening an office just for lipedema? I’d much rather travel a few hours on a plane bandaged up than 8+ hours.
