Hi! I am applying this cycle, and I was really struggling between WesternU and UCSD. Here's my pros and cons list for both, and I was hoping for more internal insight about the program or opinions in general!! Thank you :D

UCSD

Pros:

- cheaper

- great location

- good naplex

-#6 in the nation and good prestige/name in general

- ive done a pharmacy internship in sd and so i have connections w people already

- i get to rent and live near friends!! ( socially, a pro)

Cons:

- would have to rent (financially, a con)

- P2 consists of med school classes T-T

- 4 year program (nothing wrong with it, i just want to finish early lol)

- i have to take a human physio lab... (western not required)

Western

Pros:

-commute from home (financially, a pro)

-3.5 year program and block schedule (i love this)

- good naplex

Cons:

-living at home, i would get distracted, and i've started to prefer to live away from my family

-more expensive

- not as well ranked??

Hey pharm techs! I was wondering if anyone knows a brand that has the exact same navy blue shade as the cvs scrubs. I want to just get whole new figs or something but my manager is strict on us wearing that heart symbol CVS given top but i hate the way the pants fit me so if anyone knows pls lmk

i bought my first pairs of docs! super happy with them but i think i chose the wrong size.... im normally a 9.5 so i tried on the 9 but it was too big. There was a gap in the back but it felt okay with the insole in. i tried the 8, they fit good but my toes are kind of squished and idk if when i break them in they will be okay after that. the only thing from me getting the 9 was that they made my feet look way too big i feel like, almost like clown shoes. the worker said it didnt but still i trusted my thoughts more but now that im wearing them i feel like I should've went with the 9 or just not get them at all if im not gonna be happy with how big they look on my feet. idk what should i do? keep and break into the 8 or get a 9 or just return it

Is gilman parking during the summer more lenient or cheaper during the weekdays or is it the same as the school year? is security still going to be strict and check like past 5pm?

Help me be a better technician :( I'm still learning and been here for about a year and still don't know QT or am not good with phone calls. For QT I get confused from all the different options, like DUR Rx, Exception, Inventory, etc I don't even know what they mean or what to do. For voicemails I know how to make the call back but I don't know what to say 99% of the time to the customer and end up having my pharmacist do my voicemails for me. I feel like I don't know the pharmacy language or mind to pick up these calls, it feels like the customer knows more about it than I do. And then phone calls coming through the phone, is Line 8 only for pharmacists? Can I still pick it up if it's ringing and my pharmacist is busy? Idk what each line means and makes me feel pressured. Please don't judge I did not get trained very well and any advice helps ;(

Hi this is my first summer at cvs as a tech. I work at a target CVS and was wondering if hours are more cut at a target location?

Hi I was wondering if a pharmacy internship at Kaiser during undergrad would be beneficial for me in the long run. It's a heavy internship 40 hours a week for 8 weeks and it's paid but I've never done anything like it. I have to take online summer classes that consisted of essays during that time too and it just seems like I'll get burnt out waking up at 8 am every day. I know a lot of healthcare does that and I seem like I'm complaining over an opportunity but I just wanted to ask to save myself the time and energy for it. Is an internship like this going to be worthwhile and help me get a job at Kaiser hospital right after I graduate? I'm sure it'll be good for pharmacy school applications but I'm more interested in jobs after I graduate pharmacy school. By that time I would already be a license pharm tech of 3-5 years if I stay in retail and so I would at least have that to apply to pharm school. Please any advice helps!
