Vulfmon Regrouped

https://www.reddit.com/r/Vulfpeck/s/YH2EKCijaY

I wanted to make spotify playlists based on the idea OP had, but I'm not the biggest vulfmon listener so I figured crowdsourcing it was my best option. The basic idea is to re group Vulfmon tracks by their genre/vibe into a couple fan albums.

These are the groups so far (subject to change)

60s rock

  • Surfer Girl
  • Mellotron
  • Little Thunder
  • Dawn
  • Harry's Theme (Lite Pullman)

Pop/Indie

  • Here We Go Jack
  • Sleep for Days
  • Got to be Mine
  • Letting Things Go
  • It Might Have to Be You
  • Chicago Summer
  • Leave You
  • Bonnie Wait
  • Tokyo Night
  • Gloves Off

Funk

  • Ucla
  • Boogie Man
  • Never Can Say Goodbye
  • Rutgers
  • Harpejji I
  • i finally feel funky
  • Tight Five
  • Rowin'
  • Rocco Darto Cato
  • The Mantra
  • The Sheriff
  • Too Hot in LA (Vulfmix)
  • I Can't Party

R&B ish

  • Alone Again Naturally
  • Take Me to a Higher Place
  • Lord Will Make A Way
  • As Long As I Still Get You

Klezmer

  • Contrapunctus I
  • Bach Pedal
  • Second Avenue (Klez Hall)

Electronic

  • Tell Me in a Song (ellis Remix)
  • Hit the Target (Vulfmix)

Silly

  • Nice to You
  • Nice to You - Little Yacov Version
  • Disco Snails
  • It Feels Good to Write a Song
  • James Jamerson Used One Finger
  • Merengue alla Turca
  • Bye Bye Nashville
  • Tell Me In a Song

Piano

  • Blue
  • Banc de poissons

???

  • Let's Go! Let's Go!
  • Valk
  • Big Boy 4014
  • Rutgers II

So tell me what songs should go where and I'll make a big playlist with everything grouped, using Captain Hook dividers.

For songs that are singular like HMDYLM/tell me in a song Ellis remix, maybe they can be their own "EP" or slot in somewhere that makes sense in the groups

Check out SpinStage, my MA-integrated audio visualizer, Sendspin player, and library browser for browser, Android, and LG webOS

I'll just copy/paste my comment from the r/selfhosted new project megathread

  • Project Name: SpinStage
  • Repo/Website Link: https://github.com/secretlycarl/SpinStage
  • Description: It's a frontend/player/visualizer/browser for Music Assistant, initially based on Sendspin Cinema for webOS. I now have webui, android, and webOS versions.
  • Special features include:
  • - Separation of personal/public Spotify content in search
  • - 10+ visualizers
  • - Group Sync device offset mgmt
  • - EQ Preset picker

It has ways to interact with most MA browsing / playback / player functions. More to come if/as requested.

It's not for on-the-go listening, moreso intended to add some background visuals to when you're listening at home, hosting a party etc. The closest existing project I found was Homeii, but it wasn't really what I was looking for. If you're looking for a good MA mobile app I recommend Ensamble, and it pairs well with SpinStage as a remote control.

  • Deployment: The instructions are in the repo, just go to the releases page and download. For webui you just run one of the run scripts, enter your details, and you're good to go. No docker image yet but someone who knows their way around docker could spin up a container pretty easily using the webui release folder. For webOS and Android, I included an IPK and APK respectively, and there is a login form when you initially open them up. If you want to build them yourself, the build scripts for those platforms' app files ask for/inject your login info to the built app if you want to skip entering login info on first run.
  • AI Involvement: All code. I made a lot of icons, designed the UI, came up with visualizer concepts, and have spent a while ideating and testing, but I'm a designer not a real developer. Thankfully the security implications of the app are pretty limited, the only 3rd party integration is for the Listen Party QR code that MA already uses. See the security section of the readme for more info. You are responsible for securing your traffic if using the app remotely.

Was hoping for All My Heroes or Nothing is U last night

I thought one of those might have had a chance but sadly not. Was secretly hoping for I'm ready to move on/mm reprise but that was even more unlikely imo. Guess I'll just look up some other concert vids 🤷‍♂️

Any you hoped for that weren't played?

Recently working gen 1 home minis both no longer connect :(

I've been setting up Home Assistant and Music Assistant (self-hosted home smart device automation/mgmt programs) and messing with my network topology a bunch recently, and have reset and re-setup my minis a few times over the last week. The past few days they sat unplugged.

They have been going strong up to this point, but now all of a sudden, I can't re-add them to the GH app :( I tried the "10 Cycle" method, tried connecting to the mini's wifi AP and trying to set up the mini in GH when on that network, and the GH app can no longer find them :(

They used to come up like "Hey add this!" but now I need to go to Add Device > Device > Nest > Google Home Mini > Connect > "Could not connect"

Any ideas? Did google break them?

Anyone want to try out my frontend visualizer app (desktop, LG TV webOS, Android)

A few weeks ago when I was setting up MA, I found this repo that's a Sendspin player for webOS. The dev also has some versions for other platforms too. It's good for what it is, stable, works as a player on MA. only buttons are play/pause, prev, next. But I yearned for more features. Mainly a visualizer and library browser. After a bunch of evenings vibe-coding in Cursor*, I have a cross-platform music visualizer/library browser for MA. I dont have a repo or anything for it, but if you want to try it out and give feedback, I'll send the source for whichever version(s) you want. let me know :)

Screenshots at the end.

The app has ways to interact with most features that are normally in MA, including Device Sync/Stereo pair, listen party QR, Queue mgmt, general browsing, more stuff I'm forgetting.

Some extras I had Cursor add include:

the ability to work over a Cloudflared tunnel/remotely

"Float Mode" which has the art slowly bounce around the screen like an old paused DVD

"Bass Mode" for if the device is part of a synced group and you want it to act as a subwoofer

"personal spotify" search filter, which excludes public spotify results that aren't related to your account

group sync device +/- 25ms adjustments

and this is minor, but handling for transparent/oddly shaped album art (usually for radio stations)

*ignore my post if you want, but I have a feeling the original was vibe-coded too, based on the readme style and dev pfp

Any way to "split" spotify content?

I'm still figuring MA out but I have it mostly set up with my various providers and players.

One issue I have, when I search for something, the results from spotify pull all public items that match the search, and my personal items from spotify are mixed in.

Generally I listen to stuff in my library when alone, but if I have music going for a social gathering, I want results from all of spotify. I looked at the provider settings for spotify and didn't see anything related to this.

So I'm curious, is it possible to filter the results to only show my spotify library items? my liked tracks, created and liked playlists, saved albums, etc.

I know I can just go to the media type page and filter by provider there but sometimes a search is quicker

Music Assistant is a game changer

I've been using Plex to serve my music for a while and recently stumbled upon MA. So cool! It's awesome to have radios, audiobooks, my local music library, and the entirety of Spotify at my fingertips.

There's a homebrew app for LG TVs to be an MA client called SendSpin cinema but I found it kind of lacking and vibe-coded up a version with more features for myself. Now I can browse my library from the TV and it has a cool visualizer, life is good

Next I need to set up voice commands to play music..

Any way to add Sonarr/Radarr tags to Tautulli Discord "recently added" notifications?

I'd like to put Sonarr and Radarr tags on these notifications, but I did some googling and didn't find anything. I use Pulsarr for requests, and would be nice to see the user tag Pulsarr adds to the show/movie, to know who requested it without having to go into Puls/Son/Rad/arr itself

Controlling playback on remote client devices - not possible?

I think I already know the answer but wanted to check here in case anyone figured a workaround, or can confirm that it's not possible.

I have a script that scans for plex clients, then lets me choose a library and media to play. My eventual goal is to use voice commands with home assistant that call the script, and start playback.

Right now the script only sees local clients, and everything I've seen says controlling remote clients is not possible unless i set up a private vpn between the routers, or use a client that supports tailscale.

I've followed some YouTube vids and emuready guides for bo3 and bo1, could not get bo3 running at all, but I could boot into bo1 and get into a map, though I couldn't sprint and had some other issues.

I'm playing on an odin2 portal pro, sd8 gen 2
