Matriculation SIT

I submitted my matriculation on 30 June (last day). On 28th I did medical, and they asked me to come back a week later for urine test (as I was on my period). That's what I did la

I did not receive any email of confirmation after that. Literally 0. Should I be worried? Did y'all receive any emails??

Will the gap year increase my uni changest

U got 3.7 in poly, but decided to take a gap year and explore around, see if the job related to the degree iw do actually interests me.

Currently doing a full time job at a reputable company.

Plan to do a specialist diploma later this year.

Would that increase my chances of getting into NTU/NUS?

I tried to make friends but it's really really tough

It's really difficult making friends for me. I moved to a new country for higher studies and continue living here, I made a few friends at the start. But there were clashes and they fought among each other and I was just a bystander. Eventually I was forced to take a side and now, even the side I took is gone.

Graduated poly with 1-2 "friends". My self esteem got worse over the 3 yrs of school.

I tried to meet random strangers on Reddit craving any kind of social interaction and a friend. It was terribly awkward but they were nice. And with such low social interaction I'm finding it even tougher to do basic communication irl. This is really getting terrible and I'm getting depressed day by day.

Seeing my brother go out with his NS friends, poly friends every now and then and laughing loudly playing online games makes me crumble.

I wish. I really wish I had friends. And it's really pathetic that I don't have any rn.

I'm entering 20s in a couple of months. I'm really really sad rn. If anyone could show me a way or give me some advice, I'd be ready really greatful. Thank you

Anyone down for a casual sunset picnic tomorrow evening? (Sunday, May 31st)

Starting my very first day of work this Tuesday and I really need a fun, happy distraction before the long week ahead. Thinking of just setting up a chill picnic around 5:30pm to meet, yap, and play some easy card games or charades. Strictly a non-judgment zone. just pure fun, good vibes, and a relaxed way to wrap up the weekend.

Looking for people around my age (I’m almost 20f). Probably somewhere easy like Marina Barrage or Botanic Gardens. It's practically free, just bring your own snacks/drinks and a card game if you have one!

I can be a little awkward at first but I really wanna socialize more and make new friends. If you’re down for a low-pressure hangout and some good laughs, drop a comment or DM me! Let's get a small group together.

Is this logical

I did not get into NUS school of computing. I have a diploma in big data.

I lowkey js wanna work rn with my diploma cert, then gradually do the NUS BIT program.

Why? Cuz I get to study what matters and it's a speed track to getting a degree from NUS.

It's no honors but a degree is a degree. I get to complete the degree in the same time it'd take me if I join a 4 yr degree now.

This way I earn money, experience and a degree from reputable uni.

I do not mind the grind and hardwork and I'm committed. I don't mind having no social life.

For that I need to take up a specialist diploma and gain 1 yr experience first.

Is this logical.

Anyone managed to find a full time job after poly?

Just as the title says, has anyone found one? Or in the process of application. How's it going? What made you decide that you wanna work full time instead of continuing studies?

I'm looking to work ft to gain as much work exp before I go uni next year so it's probably easier to find job after uni graduation.

Genuinely looking for friends. 20f.

I don't wanna sound pathetic but I'm really looking for friends around my age. Since poly ended I haven't been going out. I'm stuck overthinking about everything at home and only talk to parents who are around 50? Been a few months and I can feel my talking style change like old people. Help. I don't wanna lose the whatsoever social skills I have to talk to people of my age. Please if you're at home doing nothing as well like me and wanna just hangout. Let's create a small group? Just chill and be friends? I'm turning 20 this year. I know there's a lot of bots here around my age. But I don't know how to prove my genuineness. Thank you 😊

How do I manage this emotion. Need help please

My friend got into the top uni. Has made lots of friends. Everyone loves her.

Meanwhile me. I immigrated to this country 5 yrs ago. I didn't make many friends. Just 3. Didn't get into the top uni. Fked my grades up due to putting others needs before my own. I'm an insane people pleaser.

At the end tried to hustle but of no use. I didn't get into the dream uni.

Right now I'm at home 24/7. The friend is going out enjoying her life. Clubbing. Making shit more ton of friends. Etc.

Idk what I'm doing with my life. I wake up, I go on Reddit, next YouTube, then look at my parents working hard and feel miserable, back to Instagram scrolling and day over, miserably.

I have no life. I've been doing this for 2 months. I absolutely hate myself. My parents deserve better. I hate myself for being such a hater towards my friend too. I hate that Im compating myself so much. I wish I died altogether

It's tough. Looking at how many fresh grads are unable to find a job. And not being sure what degree to pursue.

Just unsure about life and feeling terrible about it. Parents are aging yet still need to work so hard.

I just need someone to talk to. Anyone in similar position... Waiting for uni. Deciding between opportunities and just wanna talk about life in general. Pls dm me.

Which is better.

SIT with full fee coverage scholarship and quick degree (2yr study + 1 yr internships). Or SMU 4 yr degree + 60k student loan

Given that finding jobs is difficult nowadays and likely to be the same or even worse in next few yrs,

Is getting a quick degree with no loan better. Or should I go for prestige and a huge loan.

Pls advice if you're in IT field. Really appreciate it thank you

Hey everyone,

I'm a recent poly graduate, and received offers from smu and sit for this year.

But after talking to a few IT professionals in family and outside, many said, gain experience as tech market is too volatile to spend 4 years in school right now. And said what I study may not even be of that much use given them rapid technological advancement. And since employees prefer skills over degree too.

I have a close relative, who wants to be a coach to teach me some hot skills in IT. And gradually take up a part time degree, spreading out my modules so it isn't that stressful.

Although I like the idea of being financially free without a student debt to clear, I'm really afraid if it's going to be something I'd regret in the next few years. I'm more of an introvert so I'm not too concerned on missing out the loud hall life and friends taking me to clubs and all. If I go uni, I'd find 2-3 friends and stick with them. And I'll have to face tough competition with the fresh grads like me.

But I'm really not sure if I'm wasting away my prime years, stuck in office. And unsure if I can manage work with studies. Is it even worth it... What if I just marry a rich guy.

Please offer me your advice id really appreciate it. Thank you

ps: I have no financial difficulty right now.
