A lot of redditers are stupid and have no idea what figurative language is

for an app that consist of mostly reading things, a big portion people on here struggle with understanding the most basic figurative language. Which is something you typically you learn in the seventh grade. They have no idea what a metaphor is. They have no idea what alliteration is. Have no idea what a hyperbole is. And they definitely don’t know what analogy is. I could explain something to someone in direct detail on a topic, and they would either be too full of themselves to process what I said, or they just don’t care about expanding their knowledge. Talking to some people on here feels like talking to a toddler who refuses to listen. This happened to me once because I was explaining something to someone and they just weren’t listening. I then said "everything I said must've flew through your brain and out of your left ear", which is a hyperbole if anyone was wondering. This guy responded with "well that's not physically possible, so you're wrong.". He was dead serious too. This happens to me way too often. Whenever I will use the most basic most basic, obvious, figurative language or obviously sarcasm they just act like there’s no such thing as figurative language. I’m seriously starting to question where some of these people went to school.

a lot a Redditers are wannabe edgy, and pedophiles

i’m finally talking about this after a long time. The truth is that a lot of Redditers are pedophiles and think and predatory behavior is normal. I'm a 15 year old black girl and the amount of d picks I have been shown with no context is just disgusting. I have been told that 17 year olds with 40 year olds is acceptable for romantic relationships, that I could probably suck d well, that my body was very mature for someone of my age, ect. I don't talk about this because every time I talk about it people (mostly men) come in my comment section and say things like "well get off the app" "don't be on the app then" "you're to young to be on the app". Reddit is a +13 platform. And even if it wasn't +13 it should be no excuse for harassment. I kinda like Reddit,it's alright in the cool communites. But posting on one you don't know is like stepping into a shark tank. Someone would give me the rudest response to a simple question, view my profile, then ask if they can see my pussy like I'm some prostitute and not a child. It's really disgusting, and disheartening. I thought Reddit was supposed to be a chill platform when i joined 2 years ago

I believe this is a hot take because whenever I bring this up everyone in my comments always get extremely defensive.

I am addicted to Kraft Mac and cheese

I'm a relatively skinny black girl. Nobody takes it seriously. I don't want to eat anything else. Just Kraft. I'm autistic so they dismiss it as me just being "Obbsesive". no. I have been eating it for months straight. I can't bring myself to eat anything else or I'll throw up. I need help.

If anyone has suggestion please tell me

I was downvotes for saying that a 40 year old dating a 18 year old was concerning

He basically said because it's been happening since the beginning of time that there was no problem with it.

I just joined Reddit and I hate it

I just started going back on Reddit about a week ago and I absolutely hate it. I’ve only made a couple of posts so far, but there's people trying to justify pedophilia behavior, people who can’t read to save their lifes, and people who are close minded to different perspectives. And people constantly trying to invalidate your personal experiences. They say rude, unwarranted stuff to you but the moment you insult them or even try to defend yourself it’s the end of the world and you have "anger issues". A lot of people on this app who aren’t in fandoms or just in the regular groups, like baking, hairstyles, anime fan pages are just weird middle-aged people who are trying to cope with their terrible lives. It’s truly exhausting. TikTok wasn’t the best app, but it had much smarter people than whatever this is. Most people on here are just dodo Birds who were given phones.

being a Jamaican atheist really sucks.

like I said in the caption, I’m Jamaican and I’m atheist. My whole family, like the entire family are Christians. I don’t really hate Christians, but they do get on my nerves. if you don’t know, Jamaica has the most churches per square mile and Jamaica is a pretty small island which means that of course a lot of the people are in religious psychosis. You can find older Jamaicans being interviewed and openly saying that gay people should burn. I find this to be a problem because not only should gay people NOT burn obviously, but I’m also pansexual. Whenever one of the people that I meet find this out, they get really weird look and the older generation doesn’t even try to hide it. They just start praying over me and I find it to be really weird and invalidating.

I didn’t think this was normal behavior and I’m also Chinese (it’s a really common mix) so whenever I visited China for the first time I went to a church there and it was so much different. I told them I was atheist and that I just wanted to sit down ( my auntie was there) and no one tried to pray over me. no one even tried to convert me which was a really odd experience because I’ve never had that. they even gave me some candy at the end of service and told me that my skin tone was beautiful for some odd reason, but I took it as a really nice compliment. it was a really surreal moment because religion in Jamaica is so strong. I I think it’s because China isn’t as much controlled by religion as the Caribbean. Yes there’s still water religious people there but there’s a huge difference, a massive one. It makes me want to cry sometimes. I love my island and I love my people. I just wish they would stop being so indoctrinated and wake up. what can be the younger generation is starting to slightly wake up I’ve been seeing more Jamaican atheist speak out, even some alternative kids, which they look amazing.

I [F] intentionally peed on the seat because I got tired of having to clean my brothers pee

I was about nine when this happened. At this time, my mom had four kids one girl and three boys. I had one older brother who knew how to not pee on the seat. My younger brother at this time did not know how to not pee on the seat. Every single time I would have to rush to use the bathroom. I would have to first make sure that there wasn’t any pee on the seat so I don’t get wet whenever I sit. I constantly reminded him and taught him to either lift up the seat whenever he uses the bathroom or to wipe the surface, but he never did. One day when we were doing Sunday cleaning I got tired of it and whenever I use the bathroom, I purposely position myself to pee on the seat. After I was done, I flush the toilet and left. Whenever my mom went to clean the bathroom, she saw a HUGE puddle of pee on the rim of the seat, and she angrily called my little brother to go fix it. He insisted that he didn’t do it, which he didn't, but my mom didn’t believe him and still made him clean it up, and the entire bathroom. That was the day I stopped seeing pee on the seat for a while. But she had two more kids. So I'm still going through it to this day 🫩

a 18-22 year old dating a 40 year old

I was just debating about how a 40 year old dating a 18-22 year old is HIGHLY concerning behavior on the 40 year olds part and my post was filled with men genuinely trying to JUSTIFY IT?!? one of them was mad at me because I said that if I see that age gap, I’m going to assume stuff off the bat. One of them said it wasn’t the man’s fault for not wanting "dried up" women in the man's dating age. Which wouldn't makes sense because if the woman is dried up and so is the man. I think these men fail to realize that 18 to 19 year-old is still indeed a teenager and can’t even legally drink. These men would genuinely date a 16 year old if it was legal my god😭😭😭

but as per usual, without fail. The only people agreeing with me, were the women.

it has become too normalized for people to see a child interacting with the world and get have negative thoughts .

this one’s gonna be kind of short, but on TikTok, I frequently see mothers posting on their socials of their children in a grocery store just looking around and being a bit louder than usual or playing at a park or even just asking questions ((Now before I go on, I will clarify that I have no problem with people not liking children that much because I know they can be nasty and loud)) and then there’s some edgelord in the comments saying "children are so stupid" or "hit it" or referencing to the child as "it". Do you expect them to be Albert Einstein? They LITERALLY just got here and you're mad that they're asking what something means, our they're being loud at the playground? but in a few years, those same people who complained about a child asking what "onomatopoeia" is, are gonna be wondering why the children are actually stupid. It’s because people literally want children to be robots in a world full of people condition to be robots. and undoubtedly children are some of the only people on this earth who have not been corrupted by society's , strict standards, and ideas yet. People can openly show their hatred for kids, not even dislike but literal hatred and dehumanization of kids, but god forbid you say you don’t like cats, or that you would rather save a human child over a cat. Now everyone jumping on you.🫩

I'm child free and childfree people annoy me

🚨🚨🚨🚨I MEANT TO CHANGE THE CAPTION TO CHILDFREE PEOPLE AND PEOPLE WHO HAVE CHILDREN ANNOY ME!!!🚨🚨🚨🚨don’t get me wrong. I respect people who are child free, I have no problem with child free people wanting that their child free, and I have no problem with the child free people not wanting or necessarily liking children. I also don't have any problem with mothers or pregnanct people. I don’t even like children/toddlers that much. but I have noticed that over the course of about 10 years the whole child the free thing has gone from "i’m happy to be child free and you shouldn’t be pressured into having children at all" all the way to "i’m better than you because I don’t have children, and I’m entitled to a child free world" which is just plain wrong. you’re not entitled to a child free world. You’re entitled to a child free life. you don’t have to interact with children if you want to. You don’t have to babysit a child. but there’s always going to be children on earth. You always have to see them in public spaces. Like on a plane, car, themepark, ect.

I noticed this really weird two-sided beef with women who don’t have children and women who do have children. they’re always comparing themselves to each other. woman who have children get triggered whenever a child free person mentions that they like being child free and that they can go wherever they want without worrying about another human. Which honestly good for them that sounds like the dream, put yourself first. And parents mentioning that they can do the same thing with a child. Which if your child is under 15 they probably couldn’t do without planning. And child free women putting down mothers who are postpartum and saying "oh I'm never having children" or "why would you ruin your body like this" under their video, which I just find deeply misogynistic. This woman just gave life to a person, and you’re worried about the fact that she has stretch marks or she has kind of a flappy stomach. It’s passive aggressive and disgusting to even even talk about a woman’s body like that. there’s no problem with saying it to yourself like "oh I don’t want to ruin my body. That's why I don't want children" but to say it to a mother who has literally just experienced one of the most painful things a human could through is misogynistic and no one can convince me otherwise.

And one really weird thing is that I rarely seen men doing this to women. i’ll see a man complaining that woman aren’t having children and sometimes are under a child Free person‘s comment section calling them useless, which is false. But I don’t necessarily see them under a postpartum woman’s TikTok as much as I see women under it calling that woman sloppy. It’s usually only women putting other women down for their own decisions whether it it’s your child free or you’re not. I find it ironic that a lot of the women who are so fast to shame mothers and the children, and the fact that I’ve literally seen women call mothers "breeders"?! They are usually the same ones who want a matriarchal society, which is a society that directly centers woman/mother AND children. once again this is just my personal opinion and observations and I have absolutely zero beef with childfree people.

and you might ask why I never mentioned child free men, and men with children. It’s because truthfully they don’t go back-and-forth on the Internet like child free women and Mothers do. Which you could expect because women do most of the things pertaining to children sadly. They aren’t the ones expected to have children.

if my homegirl is cheating on her loving, nice boyfriend, I’m going to tell him.

Back in late 2025 this was a pretty big debate on TikTok on if you would tell your best friend’s boyfriend if she was cheating on him. I find a lot of nuance to this situation because people cheat for many different reasons. One person might cheat simply because they got bored of the relationship and they're too "scared" to tell their partner. While another person might cheat because their partner is also cheating on them. But in my opinion the whole situation, the only time where it’s appropriate to actually out your friend as a cheater to their boyfriend is whenever their boyfriend is genuinely committed to the relationship and loving. like giving them flowers every month, constantly sending gifts, treating them with the up most respect. if he genuinely just loves her. I love all my best friends and I will do anything in the world for them. But whenever it comes down to playing with a person’s feelings, especially a nice person who only has good intentions. I do not stand behind that AT ALL. I don’t care if people think it’s a situation of "she just wants him to herself" because I wouldn't. In my opinion, it’s just the morally correct thing to do.

but after I tell her partner, I will stop being friends with her definitely.

spanking your child should be considered SA

forcefully stripping a child and repeating hitting it while they're crying and begging you to stop, should be considered some type of sexual assault. Studies have repeatedly shown that spanking your child has the same effects as SA to the brain, and can cause a child to be anxious whenever they make a simple mistake. And before you say "but the butt isn't a sexual body part" it shouldn’t be, but unfortunately is in this society. It’s not legal to spank a animal, it’s not legal to spank adults who don’t listen, so why should it be legal against children? Who are literally the most vulnerable people on earth, and are never taken seriously. And I’m not against giving your child little pops on the wrist or something after you repeatedly and patiently tell them to stop doing something. But spanking and my opinion is a no-no. I’m pretty older now since the last time I’ve gotten spanked and it still kind of affects me to this day, and I still feel pretty violated.
