Why is cooking wild game well done such common advice here?
I can’t wrap my head around it. Who wants to chew on a boot?
Perfectly cooked elk roast and mule deer backstrap for reference.

I’ve got a half dozen .30 cal rifle cans now, but most of my rifles are 6-7mm. Looking for a new dedicated can for my 16” 6mm creed. Trying to keep it as light as possible, but sound reduction is right up there. This thing barks. Been looking at the DD wolfhunter. Recommendations?
Also have a 20” 22 creed bolt gun that needs a dedicated can. Would the polo be a good fit? Weight reduction being less of a concern.
I haven’t made bacon in a couple years. Grabbed a couple 8lb belly’s last night to try to get back into it. Not looking to go the maple route, just a nice cured and peppered bacon.
Wet brine vs dry?
Whole 8lb belly’s vs cutting the 2 8 pounders into 4, 4 pounders before curing?
My wife and I shot a match yesterday. Towards the last few stages, all of her rounds were impacting several mil high at distance. Velocity hasn’t changed, haven’t gotten a chance to run it back to zero on paper quite yet.
Spun the turrets this morning and noticed that she’s got 38.2 mil of usable adjustment, where I have 22.8.
Identical scopes, almost identical rifles. Same cartridge, same load, same barrel length, both 20MOA rails. Gonna confirm it on paper before I contact vortex, just wondering if anybody has seen that kind of variance.
Backcountry spring bear in the books. Kinda hate that I can’t hunt bears again till next year.
