Is what I heard too big of a spoiler for Fable 2? (I also want to ask some questions)

I always heard good things about Fable, but I never really looked into it until now. It was just one of those cases where I thought the cover art looked cool and got interested in the game lol.

The thing is, since I heard Fable 2 has the best story, I was thinking of starting with it. But while searching to see if it would spoil anything from the first game, I saw someone say that at some point in the game (apparently the ending, actually), you >!have to choose between your dog and thousands of people!<.

How big of a spoiler is this for the story?

Also, I'd like to ask: is this franchise known for having a good story, like Final Fantasy and other RPGs?

I want a really emotional jrpg to play, with a great story, characters and world

I have only played a few JRPGs so far, and I liked all of them, but right now I'm looking for something truly great, something really emotional. I want as many recommendations as possible, so they can be for any console.

I've already played FFX, FFVII, NieR: Automata, Mother 1, 2, and 3, OMORI, OFF, Undertale, Everhood, In Stars And Time (I know that some aren't exactly JRPGs)

Some games I've already heard about and that got me interested, but I'm not sure if I'll try them, are:

  • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: My PC can't run it very well, but maybe later.
  • Lost Odyssey: I was interested, but I saw many people saying the story was actually mid, and that only 1,000 Years of Dreams was really something special.
  • Xenoblade Chronicles 1, 2, and 3: I really don't like the visuals and aesthetic of this series (to me, it has too much of that "generic" JRPG anime style), but if it's really that great, I might try it.

Any recommendation is welcome 😄 (not sure if I will answer rn, but I'll do it when I can!)

How good and emotional is the story of Lost Odyssey besides the '1,000 Years of Dreams'? (No spoilers, please.)

I'm really tempted by the premise that the protagonist is an immortal being who has forgotten everything he lived through and will slowly start remembering things. Since I saw many people saying it was really emotional (and I like that), I decided to give it a try.

The thing is, I saw some comments saying that, besides the 1,000 years of dreams, the story was just alright, and I was craving for something emotional like FFX and FFVII, so I would like to hear what everyone thinks about it

Can someone tell me how spoiled I am on FFX without spoiling any more of the game’s story? (HEAVY SPOILERS AHEAD)

I was spoiled on FFX a while ago, but the urge to play it never went away, so I would like to know how much I still have left unspoiled, whether there are still twists as big as the ones I already know, and if a lot of the story is still not spoiled for me.

What I know is (just saw a text that said almost exactly this): Tidus is a dream, Auron is a dead unsent, Seymour is a bad guy, Tidus sacrifices himself at the end to break a ‘cycle of sin,’ the romance between Tidus and Yuna can’t happen, and there’s something about a prophecy that turns out to be true. From that, I keep thinking that Tidus is Yuna’s dream partner and that all of this might be a figment of her imagination or something like that

I will play it either way, and I know the journey is worth it, but it’s good to know just to measure my expectations.
