A crumbling shipwreck just off the coast of your village is rumored to have a massive jackpot of pearls, gold, diamonds, and other gems - but is guarded by a terribly frightening creature with an equally awful temper.

You wave that off as simple superstition, something to scare off prospective pirates. All the stories you heard growing up were just those - stories! There was no truth to it.

So why is it when, you finally dive down below the waves, you feel like something ancient is watching you, wanting to see you sink farther and farther into the depths? Why is dread settling over your spine, turning your blood to sludge? And...what's that strange, bobbing light in the dark?

No matter where you are, you keep getting hopelessly turned around, as if the land itself is trying to keep you prisoner. How long have you been stuck here? Days? Weeks? Mere hours? There's no way to tell.

Eventually, you take a break near a rushing river, desperate and looking to fish for some food. As you leave your back turned, you feel your neck prickle: something watches. Despite not seeing anything in the jungle growth, you know you're not alone. Pressing on to catch a few fish, when you get back to shore you are met with a massive, monstrous woman - one who has been watching you all this time. What could she possibly want? Is she simply curious? Angry you're on her land? Wanting to get you home?

- Oops, All Symbiotes - The Symbiotes have landed on your planet, and they're here to party! Chaos ensues as Symbiotes by the millions seal themselves to new hosts. Not all of them are harmful, but those who want to lead are killing the planet's leaders, and any who get in their way. Your OC finds themself stuck with a Symbiote, unable to find another host, and the pair of you must clear your city's government of corruption.

- Powers Sealed Away - What's happened?! You wake up to find that your abilities, whatever they may be, are gone. Innate abilities are sealed away; technology has rusted and turned inert; even parts of your biology may have reverted to a more passive state. Is this a punishment? A test? A strange figure will tell you more, should you choose to listen to their words - and their warning of a great evil on the way.

Fantasy (D&D Vibes):

- Great Evil Returns - the realms are in danger, whether they know it or not. A god, a dragon, a cosmic horror; whatever it is, *something* wicked this way comes, and it seems to wreck the plane. Wizards, scholars, and sorcerers have tried to repel the cataclysm for decades to no avail, and with few options left, they are desperate to try anything. As a final effort, the king of the realm has heard tale of a mystical artifact rumored to be strong enough to repel any foe. Your OC is someone tasked to retrieve the artifact in the hopes of saving the world.

Fandom:

- Overwatch AU - The world is at risk from Talon and Null Sector. Your OC, fed up with how Overwatch is ineptly running things, decides to strike back as a vigilante. With your varied resources and abilities - be they scientific, natural, magical, or other - you strive to make a real difference in the world, and to protect others without all the pesky red tape. In this AU, magic exists and is wielded by a lucky few. Whether they use that power for good or evil remains to be seen.

- Hellaverse - Surprisingly, this one is the most open ended. I have no attachment to canons in any way, and this can be a more slice of life mixed with action plot if you'd like! I know this series is divisive, so I placed it at the bottom just in case.

Lucky for them, there's a group of technology-using magic sympathizers willing to shelter and teach them. How long will this safety last?

- Star Wars AU - The New Order has seized the galaxy. Just like the Empire, oppression and fascism runs rife, coloring everything a shade of hopeless grey. Your OC, hearing whispers about a Rebel Alliance, is inspired to join - and there's a mission to attack one of the Order's moon outposts coming soon. Best make yourself useful!

hey everyone, i'm looking to try and get back into anime (very slowly and with only certain series in mind), and one i've wanted to check out for a while is neon genesis evangelion. the plot looks amazing, visuals are stunning, music is great!

except i'm 99% sure there's some bullshit fanservice i'm going to have to sit through or skip. unfortunately fanservice is prominent in anime (a fact i know well and fucking ABHOR).

my question is: how bad is such fanservice, provided there is any? is it constant enough (every episode, multiple times an episode, etc) that it will turn me away?

I've finally gotten to play a few games of Final Girl and I love it! I had a rocky start learning the mechanics, but I was able to win with both Laurie and Reiko after a few tries. I find myself wanting to play again on the Extreme Horror mode, and see how that goes! The boat was my saving grace.

To everyone who replied to my initial post, thank you so much for your feedback! It was very helpful, and I got some good advice from there. :)

I'm also thinking of making a live-update post that details the information on the various sets - their difficulty, what property they're based on, useful strategies (that will come as I get more expansions + play them)...I think that would be helpful for new players like me.

Hello!! I'm looking to get started with Final Girl (the concept is so cool, and I always see it at my job!) and was wondering what you guys thought would be the best one to start with. I know you can choose any one so long as you have the core box, but I have choice paralysis and want to try them all!
