iOS 27 new low battery screen concept

Reported as a suggestion in Feedback btw! Suggest this in Feedback too if you also want this low battery screen.

Also yes, I'm aware that the fading animation wouldn't make sense in a low-power state. Kinda trying to figure out how that would work tho.

Dear Apple,

Alr I'll admit it, my rendition on this kinda sucks and doesn't really represent a true Liquid Glass implementation on the traffic lights that well lol. But you get the idea.

What the fuck happened?

Well, they did it. The flat design fucks are desperate and are trying to fuck it up for us...

I thought we were going somewhere with iOS 26's icons, but thanks to people who have been fucking complaining since the first day of iOS 26, dev beta 1, I hope you're all proud of yourselves, because now that iOS 27 is out, we're back to flat design. At least, Apple doesn't want it to sound that way. Sure, they may be implementing Liquid Glass elements into the icons themselves, which, on paper, sounds like a nice idea, but it's so subtle and hardly even noticeable, because ALMOST EVERY stock Apple icon has nothing but a solid or single-gradient background behind their glyphs, so there's LITERALLY NOTHING for them to refract against, therefore making them appear flat.

Honorable mention: This screenshot was from a segment regarding child safety and parental controls, and what the fuck is Tinder doing there??

The new icons in iOS 27 don't do that much of a good job at what iOS 26 had to offer; each icon perfectly complimented the whole design direction Liquid Glass was going... Only for them to scrap it all in the end?? This is so sad. I mean, just look at the Phone icon, it's NEARLY IDENTICAL to what we had in iOS 18!! Going backwards... If anything, the Freeform and Maps icons are the only ones that are noticeable because their glyphs actually have a background to refract against, but THAT'S IT. Honestly the only good one here is the Camera icon, an upgrade from the last, I must say.

As if the current icons weren't already Liquid-Glassy enough... If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Well, on the bright side, atleast the Liquid Glass UI itself looks much better.

R.I.P. glossy icons revival

(2025-2026)

It was fun while it lasted.

But since this is just dev beta 1, we'll just have to see. I won't go too far into this. I'm hoping they refine the design some more and make the new Liquid Glass effect on the icons more noticeable throughout the betas as they go on.

(Shitty uninteresting theory) The current camera icon in iOS 26 isn't going to survive through iOS 27.

Yeah this post is fucking stupid but my ADHD wanted to get this out of the way so here we are ig lmao.

Anyway, I feel there's a strong chance that Apple may revert the camera icon shape back to that of iOS 18's, due to user backlash on it looking "ugly". Since Liquid Glass is pretty new, Apple has been more receptive to user backlash surrounding design choices lately, and this would usually result in them adjusting the design or reverting it back. But right now when they make adjustments like that, they focus on more minor parts of the UI, since we're currently on a minor version of iOS 26, and Apple would usually choose to wait until the next major release for more focus on UI.

But now that the next major version, iOS 27, is on the way, this is their chance to pay attention to many more user responses, and dive deeper into more major bits of the UI, which can include icons. And one of the biggest user complaints surrounding icons in iOS right now is the camera icon, so if you do like the current camera icon like me, I'd enjoy it while you can.

TL;DR: Basically the whole point of this post is that although my ADHD ass is VERY worried and hoping that this doesn't happen, since the icon goes back to the days of pre-iOS 7, and I'm a fan of skeuomorphism/neumorphism, I can still definitely see this happening in iOS 27.

If Apple ends up using an icon like in the second pic in iOS 27, just know that I'm the one who predicted it. ;)

Also that camera icon isn't mine, idek where it came from :P

BTW DON'T TAKE THIS POST TOO SERIOUSLY (theory is kinda shit anyway)

Samsung may be considering integrating a built-in S Pen and slot into the TriFold2, similar to a Galaxy Note, as demonstrated by leaked patent

For those that didn't know, I'm actually 4 days late to this rumor, so I apologize if you're just now seeing this. Just wanted to make sure this rumor is really credible, and right now it is looking pretty valid.

That being said, we're not really sure if this idea would come to fruition with the final release of the TriFold2, but it's definitely under consideration by Samsung.

Basically the way this would work is that the S Pen would slide into the device through the slot located at the hinge area, rather than going beneath the ultra-thin screen. My guess on why it would be like this is to prevent any interference with the rumored digitizer layer that Samsung could also be integrating into the TriFold2, which could make the device itself a tad bit thicker. Well obviously they need this because how else would the S Pen work lol.

Assuming all this information is true, this may of course crank up the price of the TriFold2, but it would also make it a truly, ultra-premium device, and Samsung's first-ever foldable to rock a built-in S Pen and slot.

It's official, Google's our opp now.

Man I thought Google was going somewhere with their new upcoming icons but I guess not. Literally the reason why the UI industry can't move on to neumorphism.
