Navigating school

No seeking medical advice—I'd really love to hear from people who actually use triptans or have kids who do.
Yay, we finally found a triptan that works without any scary side effects! Unfortunately, it makes my son fall asleep hardand pretty quickly afterward.
I'm torn about what to do if he gets a migraine at school:
Add the triptan to his IHP so he can take it at school, knowing he'll probably need time to sleep afterward.

If he gets a migraine at school, have him picked up early so he can take the triptan at home and sleep it off.

Keep the school plan as just the potent NSAID + Zofran, then give the triptan after pickup.

Right now his prevention is daily CoQ10. His rescue plan is a potent NSAID, Zofran, and a triptan. The IHP currently only lists the NSAID and Zofran because that's what was in place before we found a triptan that works, but his neurologist said the triptan can be added.
For those of you who get really sleepy from triptans (or have a child who does), how do you handle school? Does the sleepiness lessen over time, or has it stayed about the same?

Symptom question

Hi there,

One of the symptoms our doctors never tracked to a cause went away after being diagnosed and going on the diet. Anyone else experience urine the smelled like maple syrup that stopped after starting the diet?

Dog distribution system

We shockingly got visited by the dog distribution system and are working to get all the supplies we need for this rescue who landed on our door step 2 hours ago.

I am familiar with cavaliers and all the health concerns AND WE ARE A CELIAC house household and need a gluten free (not grain free) dog food recommendation.

Any help is wildly appreciated.

Navigating tweens

A quick search showed me good recommendations for my kiddo going through puberty. Does anyone have good recommendations for a book on parenting tweens? Today felt like having a toddler again and I’d like to better understand what to expect and how to support these flashback feeling moments.

Grilling?

Ok I know the obvious cooking food directly on a communal grill is a now go and foil wraps are my best bet.

I’m having a hard time shifting my brain away from burgers and veg with grill marks to other things. I do have cast iron I can throw onto the grill..

Can you share what y’all do when grilling but you can’t touch the grates?

I cracked the breakfast baked good code

My kid has been declining egg cups for a bit, and now over smoothies. I have therefore been on a quest for more nutritionally dense grab and go options.

Behold pineapple muffins/cake

Wet Ingredients
225 g cottage cheese
4 large eggs
55 g butter
100 g brown sugar
5 g vanilla extract
1 full 20 oz can crushed pineapple with juice

Dry Ingredients
240 g gluten-free flour blend
20 g ground flaxseed
5 g baking soda
4 g baking powder
3 g salt
3 g cinnamon

Mix and split into 24 reg cupcake tins or 2 8x8 pans

Yes it’s still sweet and fatty but it’s got some decent protein and fiber too. Can’t personally eat it cause of allergies but thinking it could made a good zucchini or pumpkin bread. Kid loves it.

Has anyone navigated accessible workbooks from McGraw hill. I am waiting for a reply from them. I have a learner that types and haven’t found a good/convenient way of uploading workbook pages to type on.
