My wife and 17 year old son and I will arrive in Ponta Delgada on Sunday July 26th, morning. We plan on checking into wherever we end up on Sao Miguel that day and hang out. We then have 4 1/2 days to look for adventure on the island before we fly to Pico for 3 nights and 4 days. We will definitely hike mount pico and we definitely want as much action and adventure as possible. We'd like to rappel, see whales, hike, etc.. what do you guys recommend for the most exciting and or the most off the beaten path type adventure?

My kid has a 2008 Lexus ES and it was severely shaking at 40mph and up when giving gas but not when coasting. We put new sneakers on and the shaking went from severe to moderate but still there when giving gas but not when coasting. Anyone have an experience?
