So this ground has likely been tread before but I don’t think I’ve seen mention of it before. From what I’ve seen, the Woods in Winter involves some location, or perhaps event, which relates heavily to the Great Game, supposedly the training grounds for Great Game agents. But it has also been mentioned with an implication that we, the FLPC, came to the Neath for reasons we don’t truly remember, and that our Ambition is basically a cover story if not an outright lie. This failure to remember the true cause of our descent appears to be due to Irrigo, since, until Firmament, the sole mentions of any of this were from the Mark of Disdain, ending with a meeting with a Midnighter granting An Absence, and within the Nadir. (Aside from one ES which is where the training grounds thing came from.) But there’s something that’s got me bothered about it. Irrigo is a Neathy color. How could it impact us before we came to the neath? And even further, for someone to have altered our memories so precisely, they had to be a Midnighter. (Would also make sense considering that Midnighters are a big part of the Great Game.) HOW IN HELL DID A MIDNIGHTER COME TO THE SURFACE?!

But I thought about it, and I had a sudden epiphany looking over some of my lore notes. We know a Midnighter who came to the surface. In fact, she’s also part of that Mark of Disdain storyline, too. The Lady in Lilac. So, here’s where my crazy idea comes in. I think the Midnighter who caused whatever unknown things the Woods in Winter are all about to be removed from the FLPC’s head was the Lady in Lilac, Lily Clathermont. I think she’s the one who inflicted us with this Irrigo related memory loss. Why? I don’t know. But I think she was the Midnighter who did it.

I find one of the Nostalgia rewards we got so funny. The bridge one, specifically. Cause… we get a much-needed gap. Because there’s a gap in the bridge. And I dunno why but lil dumb things like that I just adore.
