Hi guys,

Just downed my first uber in SSFHC today (Uber uber elder) - very happy about that. But the main pain point was keeping my merc alive

(Let alone my AG... zero chance)

The damage is great, but I had to use 5 portals - once every time the merc died

There were 2 portals where the merc instantly died within a few seconds upon re-entering...

I understand I have focused mainly on offensive gear for the merc, and I could use some more life. But are there any tricks or a specific mod I am missing to keep mercs tanky enough to survive ubers?

I am also relocating my merc whenever he's in a shaper beam or something big - but it definitely adds a lot of mental pressure having to worry about both of us

I usually always start Trade, and then after 3-4 weeks I start fresh into SSF - it kind of prolongs the league for me, I usually play different builds in trade vs SSF so it feels a bit different and still exciting to start over

But I'm considering going straight into SSF this time - I was a little bit bored in trade last league because of the lack of endgame farms and I think this league might be similar

My only concern would be farming scarabs might suck in SSF

Anybody weighing the pros and cons of SSF vs Trade for 3.29? Can't decide

I have a few trios in mind - but some of them don't have an overlapping primary class i.e.

War/Bard/Cleric
Paladin/Monk/Enchanter

I know you can't make alts (unless you change server, but then you'd have no access to your bank or plat, wondering if this is significant?)

And if you want to change your primary, you can use an unlock token. But then if I want to swap back to my old primary, can I freely swap back or do I need a token every time? That would feel bad for me, since I have plans to level a bunch of different trios and I don't want to have the same primary in each one

Maybe it's best I just create an alt on a different server since I doubt plat or twink items will be hard to come by

I am strongly considering Berserker in my trio - but I just recently read that a lot of d3+ endgame fights have a heavy emphasis on needing to tank in Defensive stance

Berserker would lose their biggest benefit (Berserker stance) in that situation, so maybe it would be better to play a rogue or monk in that slot instead?

Can any berserkers who have some end game experience weigh in on this? Thanks

I'm having a tough time trying to choose between Berserker and Rogue

Anybody with some insight whether Berserker or Rogue be better in my Bard/Shaman/X combo?

I'm basically using all the attack/haste/str/dex buffs from both Shaman and bard to buff the hell out of my melee dmg

I am not sure if I want to play the pre purchase / early access period since it's temporary and I don't want to burn out before the live server rolls out

At the same time, I have nothing to play right now and I'm fiending to play some eq so I'm not sure what my plans would be

I could play a combo completely different than I would on live, just to check some of the classes out

What are your guys' plans?

I was thinking of rolling a melee (rogue/monk/berserker)

And then the other 2 classes to maximize the amount of buffs for said melee - I was thinking a bard and a shaman

But there are too many options to consider...what 2 other classes would provide the best buffs for a melee dps?

Do I go pure dps for the melee? Or will not choosing a tank class hurt me

I just found out about the test server, and I am going to try a bunch of classes I never tried before in preparation for EQ Legends (trying to find my 3 classes to play)

I understand you can /testbuff and also grant yourself AA's and spells which is awesome

But I am in the starter area (Crescent reach) and I've never played this version of EQ before - where is a good training / hunting grounds I can go to at level 25 to test my character a bit? And how do I get there from Crescent reach

As the title says, what's the best method for finding a companion with the correct stats in HC?

SInce there's no respawn at checkpoint feature in HC, maybe it's best to find them from maps with more modifiers?

I was playing vs the Hard AI - I had a really really strong game, and finally built up to the final battle

I was playing temple and I had a predominantly ranged focus setup - Austringers, Lightweavers, Angels were my main units

As soon as I start the battle, the AI casts an AoE Twilight on my entire team (can't use ranged attacks) - and it also lasted 4 or 5 turns.

So I instantaneously lost the game right there and then - I guess because of RNG?

I've generally been really loving the game, but that would feel very demoralizing in PvP or a higher stakes match. Only silver lining would be that Hive would be unaffected lol
