The German military is primarily horse-powered with a low degree of motorization.

They never got a chance to begin the large scale usage of powered vehicles as they were unable to build an industrial military after the first world war in large part due to the treaty of Versailles.

Then being underprepared for the Second World War they were still highly reliant on horses. After their defeat, Germany was divided. East Germany was stripped of much of its industrial machinery and were never transitioned back into being a heavy industry economy. West Germany whilst not stripped of its industrial capacity was never able to direct it majorly to their military; instead, mostly producing domestic automobiles for export.

Despite being a member of NATO they spent comparatively little of their history actually meeting NATO military spending requirements, and when they did, they spent the money on horses and infantry gear.

Post unification this pattern remained the same, their chronically underfunded military painting broom sticks black in place in machine guns on their vanishingly few tanks and only having ancient military gear to offer Ukraine.

Fortunately this has helped keep Germany's carbon output lower than if they had properly motorized military.

Two in a row today, yeah. I don’t have a life, and if I owned a gun, I'd make that statement literal.

I need to switch from Google this is getting ridiculous. Why would I want to swipe back instead of using the designated buttons?

I don't know why I have a collection of posts that relate to birthdays

They shouldn't be called "young adult" they're mostly for tweens, and teens. If you define young adult that way then I get it, but honestly, just seems like a misnomer.

"Life isn't fair" fair enough, and it never will be. But is it redeemable? Is there any point? Why shouldn't Project Sundial have been built and executed?

Yes, this is how I lost my virginity, thanks for asking

Being a fish staring at the alcohol on the Titanic must be torture.

Was feeling quite chuddish today.
